Thank you guys for watching. If you guys want a signed print for your wall I print all of them myself from my large format Canon printer larrychenprints.com/
The AE111 was built from 1995 to 2000, many with the 20V 4A-GE. Shown is the facelift model from 1997 on. We used it in summer and winter as our main family car, ours has the normal 4A-FE. Luckily we were able to get a ZVW30 Prius and could make our AE111 Levin a summer-only car, because it is very rare. Great video!
You know, if you think about how awesome most people are in the car culture, it's such a blessing. I am not a huge fan of these cars, but I can certainly admire and appreciate the time and love that has gone into these cars. Much respect for all car enthusiasts.
Great to see you at the OG circuit Larry, that little green Mazda was badged the 323F in U.K., was cool at the time because it had that 2 litre small stroke V6, which I think was the same motor that went into the Ford Probe. That colour was popular in U.K. Never seen one with the Mazdaspeed kit 😎 🏴
The US got a similar engine to the KF-ZE in that Mazda Lantis. The KL-DE was 2.5L and was in a ton of Ford Probe GTs , Mazda MX-6s, and Mazda 626s. There was a JDM only version called the KL-ZE...people swapped them here in the US. They all have a variable intake runner system that would give them a high RPM power boost, not unlike VTEC. I surprised some Civics back in the day in my Ford Probe GT...lol I hope to visit Tsukuba some day!
Mazda 323 car from the late 80s early 90s. We got them in the UK and there is even a very rare 2 door coupe. But that Mazda speed body kit is amazing. Any chance of doing some Japanese motorcycle culture also visit some of the builders as well. Like Zero MC's.
I've been fortunate enough to visit twice in 2014. Once for a MSC drift event and once for Idlers. There's no where else that emits the same emotion as Tsukuba. Revisited it vicariously through this video 🤘🥲
That Ford Focus is a Euro car first and foremost not American. The Mazda Lantis in that greenish Teal colour was a Mazda/Eunos 323 back in the day. Im surprised you guys did not get those there. Never knew they could race the CRZ's....thats wild and cool. Skyline 4 doors are an Aussie Fav cheap alternative the GTR/GT-T/S. Suzuki Swifts are awesome, especially the RE versions (old school GTis). The AE101 are basically a new shell and protector of the valuable heart that it has in it. Its the same for the Aristo (GS300) for the Supra and Soarer.
Awesome footage! I would love to visit so much! The KFZE engine is a performance variant of what we got in the US in the Mazda MX3 (K8ZE) I think its a 30HP difference. If I remember correctly they are the smallest displacement V6s in a production car (2.0L) I was very much in the Mazda MX6 / Ford Probe / MX3 / 626 world in the 00s. I had several 2nd gen Ford Probe GTs , one with a KLZE swap (JDM Probe/MX6 engine) These cars have always been under appreciated underdogs but they are all great.
Would you mind telling how you plan a visit to the track? Do they have a calendar online you can check to know which days to show up? I’d love to see something like this irl!
Funny I just learned about the Mazda Lantis Type-R yesterday. There is one for sale in the US in the same color with the wing too. 2.0L V6 with 170hp and revs to almost 8k.
Don't know if anyone remembers, the closest thing we had state side to the v-6 mazda was the MX-3, but it was 2 door, the v-6 was a 1.8 L K8-DE with a whopping 130 HP from what I could find, but it was kinda similar.
The female car scene in the US sucks because a ton of girls do it for attention at meets or social media since it’s so easy to do due to the low ammount of women in the car scene. It takes away from the girls who want to actually drive their cars and they get heckled by people to their face unless their car is so nice and expensive it can’t be made fun of. In Japan I feel like that’s intimidation factor isn’t there for women on the same scale.
Thank you guys for watching. If you guys want a signed print for your wall I print all of them myself from my large format Canon printer larrychenprints.com/
Fun day!! Get back to Japan quick Larry!!
I'm shocked to hear that this is only Larry's first time @ Tsukuba!!! Wow.
That’s what I said, there’s no way this could be his first time at TC

Can't not agree more Larry.....I'm there with you 👍
Been following you and Dino since the early Speedhunter days. Really appreciate these type of videos!

Like Zero MC's.
In Australia we got them and it was called 323 Astina.
When I was is Cyprus in 2005 there were tons of those fwd Levins with tiny 1 inch exhausts screaming through Nicosia
I love these Japan videos they are just something else. Keep it up Larry !!!!
Another great video Larry. Love your passion for this stuff. Nice to see beyond just the shows and Daikoku meets
I've been fortunate enough to visit twice in 2014. Once for a MSC drift event and once for Idlers. There's no where else that emits the same emotion as Tsukuba. Revisited it vicariously through this video 🤘🥲
my life will be fully settled if i get to do a track day on Tsukuba one day ... one day
Tsukuba and the Nurburgring!
That Mazda is incredibly cool!
Another outstanding video. Thanks for sharing.
22:15 really love this E111 with TRD kit! They were criminally overlooked for these past years.
Yess a Lantis. Just like the Astina the model before
Been a dream mine since Gran turismo 4! So many laps in there by now😅
Driving Tsukuba in my own R34 GT-R… goals.
Absolutely love your videos
So awesome Larry!!!
In South Africa we call it Mazda Astina. Very popular car in the 90's. But we only got it in 1.8i. Similar to a mx5 engine.
How wild ? Kept thinking how we overlooked it here in SA.
If I go to Japan I would try and spend the rest of my life there.

My dream tack day!
Dreams right here.
Come on guys, come to Japan and enjoy Japanese cars! :)

Larry it’s pass time you stop and smells the roses, you must hit the track on your next visit
I had white swift to that blue one....very nice
Larry.. Why you didnt listen to Hana at all escapes me - Love her energy for showing that car
When I play Gran Turismo my iS-F goes around that track under a min 🤣🤣🤣🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾
the Mazda lantis are very cheap here in Malaysia..
you can find one price around RM5000 ~ RM10000 its like about 1100USD ~ 2000USD
Hey! What's the best way to commute there? Planning to visit next year..
Cool track
That Lantis is the cousin of the MX3. Crazy small v6
Mazda Astina we call it in OZ.
From memory 2L V6.
This was great!
That was from the Mazda Chrysler era reminds me of a Geo Storm
Japan has the best cars and the cutest girls❤🤤❤ The V6 Mazda with the Ducktale spoiler RS escort Cosworth like?
Ando got the 49 not too long ago, just looked it up.
Forza Italia 🇮🇹 👍🏻👍🏻
Larry straight disrespecting the MR2 community :(
but he likes the AE111 at least :)
Hey man, I’m going to japan this October. Do you know of any contacts that I can connect with that would help show me around? Thank you.
But Fire Ando already did a 49.987!!! Crazy fast.
How do we know if theres a trackday there?
Dino DC FTW
EPIC!
I think the women do it because they love it. Where as in the US is there is no look at me or to be noticed.
I hate traveling and this is the only country I would love to go to. just because of these events and cars.
Larry, you can import the Yaris from Europe.

Not a miata in sight 😢
that is a Mazda 323 in Europe 1997
I've never had to pay to spectate at a normal track day in the US...?

What u don't have Suzuki swift in america its the grass routes rally time endurance attack beast you guys are missing out
Nice people you and Dino 👨🏻👨🏻❤️
Im pretty sure a few drivers/cars have sub 50 second laps.
I think Dino mean those official record, not the unofficial one
@@hydejekyll9950 yeah probably. Competition times only maybe.
Not always true about having to pay to get into track days. Almost every track I run with NASA az region is free for spectators.
Mazda had a 1.8 V6
larry just popped his Tsukuba cherry #virgin
WaZz uP
This the time attack bench mark & best drift track to learn on! See the Z33 drift!-> ruclips.net/video/LohCDaP0D0M/видео.html
