That's a real "dream car." It's not some cookie cutter and yet, shows homage to obvious loves and respects of the lineage. It doesn't need to be super crazy, it needs to work, and feel balanced within it's intent, and it hits a grand slam. Good sound, but not enough to get in trouble. Plenty of power, height of enjoyment, lower rung of scary. Looks amazing and clean, but without having to burn retinas. Super nice build by Turn 14 and GReddy!
Huge props to Dai. His R33 is definitely one of the cleanest and functional builds I’ve ever seen. It took me back to the days of drooling over 90’s jdm cars in Option magazine.
I've loved the R33 far more than the 32 & 34 for awhile now, because it's historically unloved and it has a really cool look to it. It perfectly captures the mid-90's that I miss so much. When I was ten I sat in a brand new (Red exterior, Black interior) Mk4 Supra in the showroom when it first came out (parents were shopping for a Camry, but that Gen. is a great version that I learned to really drive in, and rally *cough* *cough*). That Supra really ignited a massive love for Japanese vehicles that will never die. My favorite Supra is the Celica XX/Mk1 & 2 the most. Gran Turismo 1/2/3etc etc etc of course introduced me to the vast majority of my dream cars. Like the R31, the 70' 2000GT-R, etc. As always, great video Larry!!! Keep living the dream, and thank you for giving us a peek/taking us along for the ride!
So simple and clean yet tons of performance. I really like the paddle shift in it as well. Love seeing these restomod plus kind of cars that keep the overall look yet improve so much about the car.
Videos with Dai in them always have a quality about them that can’t be duplicated. I’m not a gtr fan(if anyone gave one I’d gladly take it) but a great video.
Been following this build since it went from let’s rebuild it oem, to parked at greddy with a snowball pushed from a high mountain top, rolling and rolling into this perfect street R33 GTR, so dope.
That os giken transmission is so cool, definitely a needed upgrade once over 700 hp. The shifts are so quick a manual car same hp wont be able to keep up losing boost during shifting
Nice to see GReady is now going to work with PRP. Herman is a ledgend and sure this will benefit both companies and can't wait to see more products and gald GReady in the US is not a rip off like Tomei USA.
R33 fan club!!! Love it, sucks I think its most rare overall. (especially in the states) but i feel like it has the simple elegance of the 32 with some of the mean-ness of the 34 lol. This particular one is sick!!! Racecar/GT3 spec style, super cool, love the front end and the street car + roll bar interior. Awesome!!!
Reminds me of the HKS 002 skyline R33. They redid it for the new owner. And did the RB28 striker motor and all types of neat new stuff for it. And now the 002 is updated and can break all re rods again I bet!
Love the 33 so much. Doesnt have the race cred of the 32 or the street cred of the 34 but looks nicer than both, its better on daily driving than the 32, and properly set up better on circuit driving than the 34. Yet people keeps dissing it because "Is not the 32 that won on group a" or "Its not the one on Fast and Furious". People is catching up though and pricing is going up.
His English is incredible for a Japanese person (I'm Japanese myself and Japan is notorious for its incompetence in English). Did he grow up in the US?
My dream ride. she is a beauty, treat her well she will give you years of enjoyment. The one thing tho is the stright cut gears on normal roads. Is a pain in the butt. And the time between rebuilds for the dogs are very short. Otherwise amazing 👏🏻 would love to see again on the channel
Thanks for the upload 💯 , glad someone showing the r33 some love such an underrated car over the others still my number one favorite out of them, rofl cricket wanted a ride to lol
What a great build and excellent video! I wished Greddy had more of these parts available for purchase through Turn14. It appears the engine still retains the stock ITB's however I assume that they are controlled by a DBW motor underneath the manifold as the ECU was rev-matching downshifts?
Beautiful Build 2.8L with Sequential #1 Larry Great Job your face with reaction was amazing shifting and down shifting :-) You guys make a great team with love for GTR's.. Larry come to Caffine& Octane ATL 1st of Every Month Dai which OS Giken Option did you get? I'm thinking of getting Option2 Ratios for my R32 GTR
GT-R definitely Godzilla, so many rare models and editions sell for so much! NSX-R was a precision made sword while the GT-R was a high tech laser guided sledgehammer!
R33 is the unloved sister of the GTR line up. I get why Dai was hesitant to build one but it turned out to be an awesome car. Thanks for the video Larry...
Hey Larry would you ever use a large format camera to take some photos. I used some 5"4" cameras in uni and the detail achievable was truly amazing. Not saying you should because it works best fix things. But just a thought.
Nice car, it’s exactly the same as my R33GTR, only mine has a Border high rise rear spoiler and Nismo LM GT 500 Forged Alloy,s, it also has a Fully Forged RBX 2.8 lt Tomei engine with a Tomei V Cam system, with Twin Garret GTX 28/63 R Turbo,s, I decided to stick with a manual gearbox, so I went with a Nismo 6 Speed Getrag gearbox with a Nismo twin plate copper mix clutch, it has the same power as yours, 700 hp, R33,s are great car,s, very special, Drive safe guys.
What you do is a service to the car community Larry, don’t ever quit! Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Promise me one thing, don’t ever die!
Amen to that. 😊
Awww! 🤣🤣🤣
Ja
He can’t quit… it’s his lifestyle LOL

It's definitely one of mine. It's not the one that everyone wants, but is perfect instead..
Dai is a man of vision and has good taste. Me too love the R33 more for it's low key chilled out presence.
You can tell Dai is a driver. Amazingly special and unique car and he still is like they can actually make this better. He's all about driving.
Of course he is a driver. Guy is a pro. Drifting, road racing, time attack, hill climb...he's done it all
Huge props to Dai. His R33 is definitely one of the cleanest and functional builds I’ve ever seen. It took me back to the days of drooling over 90’s jdm cars in Option magazine.
R33 will always be my favorite of the bunch! Dai, thank you for this build, Larry, thank you for this video!
That shifting system is awesome in the 33 Dai ! Love the paddle shifters !
You can do it on automatic trans now, very easy..Even comes with a clutch
Larry and Dai, the Power Duo
the 400r and this need to meet...and maybe race a bit.

R33 was the fastest car in Gran Turismo. Next to the Supra and the 3000gt VR4. R32 and R34 are a must have but definitely after getting the R33.
I always loved the R33 because the 400R in GT but man, Dai's build is absolutely perfect definitely what i would've build if ever got one.
So simple and clean yet tons of performance. I really like the paddle shift in it as well. Love seeing these restomod plus kind of cars that keep the overall look yet improve so much about the car.
The R33 is underappreciated.
One of the most iconic Japanese cars is... underappreciated?! lol
Needs to stay that way... Can't buy one if the prices rise cause of tiktok
Go and buy one then if you can😂
The R33 is my favorite GTR. First one I saw on the street when I was stationed in England. Dope car and video
Videos with Dai in them always have a quality about them that can’t be duplicated. I’m not a gtr fan(if anyone gave one I’d gladly take it) but a great video.
That's a good recipe! GTR R33, sequential, and more power baby!!!!
Dai has the coolest builds
Been following this build since it went from let’s rebuild it oem, to parked at greddy with a snowball pushed from a high mountain top, rolling and rolling into this perfect street R33 GTR, so dope.
I think the R33 is the best sounding Skyline! ❤
All skyline GTR's have the same engine so you can make them all sound similar depending on the setup
That os giken transmission is so cool, definitely a needed upgrade once over 700 hp. The shifts are so quick a manual car same hp wont be able to keep up losing boost during shifting
The R33 will always be the best looking of the Skylines. Thanks for sharing the sweet ride.
Nice to see GReady is now going to work with PRP. Herman is a ledgend and sure this will benefit both companies and can't wait to see more products and gald GReady in the US is not a rip off like Tomei USA.
Just bought my R33 and I LOVE IT!!!
All the way from South Africa, thanks for covering this dream car. I couldn't stop saying WOW! & I was smiling throughout the entire video .
Larry does the best reviews 👏

That's amazing! What a beautiful car!
The stance the color the wheels this car has the looks and killer performance to backup it's looks, great job great build 👍
The best of all tree R33 🎌🐲🏁. Tnk's for the video, love everything 💪🏻🤝🏻

WAIT!!! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE ALL HAD DAICAM!!!???
Larry you have the best job in the world.
His English is incredible for a Japanese person (I'm Japanese myself and Japan is notorious for its incompetence in English). Did he grow up in the US?
The R33 is the best looking GTR. The GTR LM is the absolute best.
What a great build. Owner seems like a cool dude!
Amazing video paired with an Amazing R33! 👍
Larry, that "thing" are the LEDs from the shift light. You see this style in pretty much every modern racecar and sometimes high end sportscars. ✌️
That wheel / brake fitment 🥵
Dai is the man. Did you guys see him a in TCR few month ago? Pole position and won the last race.
The mirrors are very cool!
OHHHHH MYYYYY GAAAAWWDDDD. WHAT A BUILD 😵 * chefs kiss *
Thanks for the upload 💯 , glad someone showing the r33 some love such an underrated car over the others still my number one favorite out of them, rofl cricket wanted a ride to lol
That steering wheel looks amazing in the car.
How do you not even do an engine bay clip?
I cant believe how cool this is. Wow!
Love the car Dai and Larry thanks for all your content
WOW! Yeah, I'm an oddball... R33 has always been my favorite. Awesome car... Thanks Larry!
Such a good video! In-depth build review and then the test drive at the end 👌🏼👏🏼 wish I could take that beast for a spin!
What a great build and excellent video! I wished Greddy had more of these parts available for purchase through Turn14. It appears the engine still retains the stock ITB's however I assume that they are controlled by a DBW motor underneath the manifold as the ECU was rev-matching downshifts?
I see Dai Yoshihara, i click!!
Gotta be the best R33 ive seen
Always excited for your videos, the production quality is always top class Dai is such a great person
gotta love the r33 impala

Beautiful car in beautiful country. What a bk drop. R33 is a subtle monster. 😎👊👍✌👌
Awesome car, awesome photos 🤙
Now that is an engine to be proud of
Sounds good and looks good too! love the look of it.
GT-R definitely Godzilla, so many rare models and editions sell for so much! NSX-R was a precision made sword while the GT-R was a high tech laser guided sledgehammer!
That grasshopper said “free air time!!! This is my chance to feel the full powwwwaaaa of the GTR’s boost!!!”
My favorite GT-R 👌 great spec!
Sheeesh! Dai on a different level with this one💯
I know it's his car, but to me it sounds perfect, not too loud, not too quiet, just perfect
R33 the Boss. I miss my r33😢
Dai's English has improved tremendously since the first Formula D.
RBs are the best sounding motors.
That engine is dope
R33 is the unloved sister of the GTR line up. I get why Dai was hesitant to build one but it turned out to be an awesome car. Thanks for the video Larry...
R33 is gorgeous especially in white
Is it running a Greddy exhaust manifold too? It produces a really nice tone
PS, this video looks beautiful on a 4K tv with the mountains In the background and sky 🙌
What a beautiful build!
Hey Larry would you ever use a large format camera to take some photos. I used some 5"4" cameras in uni and the detail achievable was truly amazing. Not saying you should because it works best fix things. But just a thought.
By fixed things I mean not moving haha
Does it run with Gallo 12 or 24 motor oil?
R33 IS KING
Us Americans do like our crate motors. But there’s nothing like the first start satisfaction on a full garage build. They just sound sweeter
Only when you don't do it right....
@@dj4monie stop hatin on people's comments and go fix your car
Its so violent, yet refined. 😂
Hope you sell lots of this. Like r33 dai edition
Makes me miss my GTR so much. Can't wait to buy another, one day - prices are just stupid now.
R33 is my favorite gtr
Light me up👇
im glad the industry worked with an actual driver on this build rather than a d list celebrity or internet influencer
*Larry coming through with the 🔥 🔥 video!!!*
This is a dream car!!!!
Such an absolute beauty
Love it. I want a R33. So if anyone out there wants to donate one. That is my dream car!!!
Man, you click on the video and it's right on the money. Props man, that's how you do proper YT videos.
My man Larry! 💪
R33 is beautiful
That car sounds amazing! 🥰
Not a fan of the wheel arch bits on the 400R so for me this looks much more clean 👍
Such a beautiful R33, phew
Larry, do you know what the door mirrors were on that car as they never got mentioned in the video
I could definitely drive this as a daily driver.
What a piece of art 👌🏻
disappointed you didn't film the grasshopper during the pull!!!
super cool build
Awesome video Larry
Didnt expect the special guest: Grasshopper
Greddy you can count on for reliable quality choice for upgrades.. 👏👏👏 👍
