    Buster is stoic, he probably was taught never to cry in public. Alex is the same way, when he gets choked up in phone calls, he quickly ends the call or changes topics. Poor guy, he’s really a third victim of his father, he just wasn’t killed and in some ways, it’s worse. His pain will be lifelong.

    I don't see how Buster doesn't ask about what the cops know and if there is any risk to him. How could he not be extremely concerned with his own safety? As far as he knows at this point is there are a couple of assassins running around that just murdered his mom and brother. I would be grilling the cops and demanding answers.

      Buster made it clear to the cops that, while him and his brother (especially his brother after the boat accident), may have had haters, he does not have any reason to believe that, any of that hate could have amounted to this. He is also clear that, his mum had no haters. So why should he be afraid?? He is just dumbfounded as to what just took place and so far cannot imagine anybody doing this. Being afraid means you believe that an enemy is out there targeting you or your family which he clearly stated he never thought so. Alex was the only person spurning that theory yet showed no sign of panic both for himself nor for Buster

      I agree. He only knows what he is taught. He is similar to his dad with the lack of emotions that men aren't supposed to show. My own brother does this to his 4 kids. They are told to grow up, knock it off, shake it off. No emotions allowed. His son, my nephew, turned to drugs and it was all hush hush. No one was to know. Well when he didn't show up for his 33 birthday dinner with the so called family, my brother went to his apartment and found him dead of an OD. The lack of support is what hurt that child.

      @@jwill294 haha, actually I believe I may be a little further ahead on the reading. In fact that’s when my opinion of him began to change, when it was discovered he was NOT involved in Stephen’s murder after all (two other suspects are now in the hot seat, read up). I had written something about this but my statement began to get too long so I shortened it by deleting that part. I suppose I should’ve known better. 💁🏻‍♀️ But to be completely fair, There’s no doubt Stephen Smith’s murder was a senseless, evil tragedy and whoever killed him needs to pay for it. So if Buster was ever charged for having any part in it, it would certainly effect my more favorable opinion of him. Otherwise, he can’t help which family he’s born into, and yes he cheated in school, but so what? He’s paying for that ever since he was kicked out of school for it. Besides, this didn’t hurt anyone else, but himself. I mostly feel pity for him now, but short of him being involved in Stephen Smith’s murder, I hope he finds a way to be happy in life. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @amye8475
      @amye8475 3 месяца назад +6

      Bingo. This is what I’ve been saying! People think he was super close with them all still and I’m not seeing that. He was 25 when the murders happened. Paul was 22. But there was a big difference between them… Paul was much, much closer with the family still. He wasn’t ambitious, had no real plans for his life beyond caring for Moselle. And he had a huge problem with alcoholism that had resulted in him accidentally killed a girl while drunk when he was 19, and even then he didn’t stop drinking, he was never gonna stop and Alex would’ve seen Paul as a failure. He was 22 and despite having Dad pay for his own apartment, it’s obvious Paul was like a teenager at home still. Whereas Buster got out of Hampton as soon as he graduated HS and had been living several hours away from his family for 8 years by the time of the murders. I agree that there’s a reason Buster got outta there. And I also don’t think he saw nearly as much of his dad’s scary side, as Paul and Maggie would’ve seen in those last 2 years before Alex killed them. Sure they’d meet up for social events but Buster wasn’t there with them at night when it was just the family… I truly don’t believe he knew just how bad things had been between his Mom and Dad. I don’t think anyone really knew. Maggie was completely isolated, no best friend, no one to confide in but her sister whom she was also competing with, trying to prove she had the better marriage. So she had no one to turn to when things with Alex got really bad. No one could speak up for her and say what was really happening between her and Alex when their friends weren’t there. Except maybe Paul but he was killed too. Just makes me sad that Maggie had no one.

    To those talking about him not crying or being emotional. I have a feeling he saw straight through his father for years and the family put up a certain facade in photos/presented to the outside world - it does not mean in the very least that they were truly close/emotionally intertwined just bc they have photos together that give an appearance that they are. He probably thought Paul was a twerp and as for not weeping over his mother in the interview - A) he is Alex’s son, so emotionally, he’s likely somewhat stunted like his father, B) those boys were allowed to run wild from a very early age/didn’t have to rely on either parent for much at all, so I’m guessing there was a lack of bond with Maggie. He’s also grown up in a family of lawyers, he knows how to conduct himself in this setting, regardless of how he might be feeling emotionally.

      It's hard when people start judging everyone on their outward reaction to grief when many of us have experienced it to varying degrees, and we know there is no one way to react, and that grief is strange and confusing. Our psyches try to protect us, and detachment, denial, shock, and disassociation are so extremely common, even when people lose their own children. The overwhelming denial of human emotions and judgement is just whack. It's not real. It's not fair either. It has nothing to do with this guy Buster, it's about humanity and the range of normal human experiences and expressions. The cycle of grief is easy to Google with denial & disbelief being right at the top.

Alex mental motive was probably to get the heat off his family and himself. He didn’t want to deal with those lawsuits from MB family because he knew he’d have to pay them. I find it interesting, the part where they question Buster about Alex saying that Paul had been receiving threats, alluding to a possible motive. Buster said he had only been aware of Paul having strangers talk junk to him when he was out on the town, not receiving threats in emails or texts, etc. I'd say that's slightly large in terms of Alex trying to point the finger at someone other than himself. All a moot point now that he's convicted but I had not seen this interview until today.

    I find Buster to be overwhelmed in this interview and totally believe his dads accounts of the event.
    I also think its possible but only guessing that maybe he took a Valium or something during this time. I can't even fathom his grief today knowing his dad killed his family. I heard some calls from Alec to Buster and frankly i think buster knows for a fact that it was his dad that killed mom and Paul. I pray to Jesus that buster will be okay and people treat him as an individual and not group him as a whole.
