- You need to watch this video before you buy a 1942/41 Mercury Dime! Can you tell the difference between a fake or counterfeit or altered date versus an authentic version?
Did you know there's two versions and that this is actually a Class 3 doubled die and not just an over date?

My favorite Merc. One of the finest examples of DDO-Date/Date of all U.S. coins. Thank you for taking the time to explain important details to authenticate versus the counterfeits. Well done Daniel.
Great information! Thank you!
More helpful information thanks....
I only have a couple dozen Mercury Dimes but still, "this kind of information", could save thousands $ down the road, even on other denomination coins with similar "likenesses???" (is that a word), for me and any one else who will use it, and that's one of the reasons we appreciate your time spent bringing us these videos, -- Keep em coming,
Thanks Dan. I found a 42/1 D about 15 years or so ago in a roll of common date mercs from my late Grandfathers collection. Been hunting for another one ever since!!!! Lol
Nice to hear.
Once again keeping us informed and educated thank you. I have been bookmarking and joining pages you recommend. Still learning and enjoying the adventure into coins :) .

Hello DANIEL!!!
Hello Chris!
Another great video. Some of us who watch on our phones have a hard time reading the population reports.
I can't change that, not sure what I could do to help. My equipment is limited. I am using a Canon Camera and editing software. It was the PCGS price guide.
@@CoinHELPu I understand. Thank you for what you do.
@4:30: It appears that they got the metal for the "1" from shaving it off Adolph Weinman's initials. Just my .02 worth.
Splendid,Great Vedio and Perfect from YF in ytube of Morocco

You're welcome and thanks for posting
I ordered one of the Chinese fakes. Wow! I have been a dealer for years and really had trouble seeing it was fake. The 4 and the 2 over 1 was spot on plus the coin weighed correctly. I sent it to anacs and paid the fees just to see what they say. I will let you know what they decide. If they happen to certify it this may ruin the hobby.
They won't this is a doubled die not just about the 2 and the 1
I uh posted on your forums and it was a mess Daniel sorry have to go to work. I will post within guidelines soon :) I dunno just a visual sampler we can call it. Ttyl
Its no big deal. No worries
I am in Morocco I have one very clean I love to sell it.can U help me.please thanks you.
I don’t help people sell their coins. I do videos to help.
@@CoinHELPu I understand .can any coin dealer grade it for me appraisal.i know it is better to be certified by NGC or PCGS etc. At least I know I have accurate coin and clean.
Thank you for your videos your kindness and your time. God bless you .
There seems like a lot of coin doctors with to much time on there hands.
Counterfeiter "Look Joe, I spent the last 3 days making a 1942/1 Mercury Dime fake isn't she a beauty?"
Joe turns the coin over "It's a 1942-S YOU MORON!"
DOH
Thank You Daniel
