    Must try lamb shank with nasi kandar. In the US lamb tends to taste a bit "gamey" and tough. In Malaysia it's so well cooked with curry spices that there's not a hint of gameyness and the meat is so tender it falls off the bone.
    Two other Penang signature dishes are char kuey teow and asam laksa -- did you try?

    • @mikeandashley
      @mikeandashley  2 месяца назад +1

      Oh man, that sounds delicious. We've had lamb a couple of times (not in the context of gyros or kebabs) and it's delicious. What you're describing sounds so amazing.
      Yes, we tried both of those dishes. Char kuey teow in our Ipoh video and Asam laksa, we tried one morning when we were out for breakfast, but not filming. It was quite good. Though, we tried it another time and it was not good at all. So I'm not sure what happened. Haha.
      Thank you so much for the suggestions. We can't wait to return to Malaysia because the food has been in our dreams lately!

If your planning to visit or revisit Malaysia, avoid arriving on Sunday, just arrive on Tuesday.
