What a wonderful video filming in the rain. Hope that you guys have had a good time and a pleasant stay in Penang. I love rain, it doesn't stop me from what I need to do.
Great video y'all! That food at the end looked so incredible! A bit of a bummer to miss some of the temple, but what you did see was breathtaking! Can't wait for the next one :)
Hi Mike & Ashley, yes you were right.. that is white cabbage mixed with carrots cooked with tumeric powder , mustard seeds , curry leaves and some other spices. its one of the common vege that u will see in almost all nasi kandar shop.
Georgetown is the best! That temple was amazing. As was that nasi kandar place you guys went to. We loved that place! They hooked us into getting a lamb shank when we went. Expensive, but delicious. 😊
Ah, you guys went to the same place? That's awesome. I bet you would have done a way better job than us at describing the food haha. A lamb shank nasi kandar sounds insane. Can't wait till you guys go back and vlog it!
Must try lamb shank with nasi kandar. In the US lamb tends to taste a bit "gamey" and tough. In Malaysia it's so well cooked with curry spices that there's not a hint of gameyness and the meat is so tender it falls off the bone. Two other Penang signature dishes are char kuey teow and asam laksa -- did you try?
Oh man, that sounds delicious. We've had lamb a couple of times (not in the context of gyros or kebabs) and it's delicious. What you're describing sounds so amazing. Yes, we tried both of those dishes. Char kuey teow in our Ipoh video and Asam laksa, we tried one morning when we were out for breakfast, but not filming. It was quite good. Though, we tried it another time and it was not good at all. So I'm not sure what happened. Haha. Thank you so much for the suggestions. We can't wait to return to Malaysia because the food has been in our dreams lately!
All episodes are incredibly awesome..no doubt about that..Sad that you have left malaysia..Come back again..malaysia always warmly welcome you..cheers🫶
Thank you so much! We're happy you enjoyed them! We had a blast in Malaysia and can't wait to return. We want to go to the eastern side and Malaysian Borneo! Thanks for watching and supporting!
Aw, thank you so much! That's so sweet of you to say. We both are very grateful and fortunate to have found each other. We hope you're having a great day! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
10:48, Wow, 6 Ringgit to visit Kek Lok Si temple for the 1st time is super cheap and affordable. The cheapest museum to visit for the 1st time is the national museum of Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur, it cost 5 Ringgit, it's super affordable and learn about the history of Malaysia.
15:43, Even me, I didn't know why restaurant is close on Monday until I google, sorry, my bad. It's the whole country, restaurants close on Monday because they have a very peak or high volume of customer on weekend. If your planning to visit or revisit Malaysia, avoid arriving on Sunday, just arrive on Tuesday.
1. Yes it is worth it. The warm temperatures of everyday should prove so!! 😁 2. The ocean waters… even though it is rainy, you can still take a luxurious swim in them anyways!! 😁 3. So… in your households… there are MANY of them here available and many to be maintained!! 😁 That is the micro-city Penang/Georgetown/Bukit Bintang has become!! 😁😁😁
@@mikeandashley I will certainly pleasure two down for the Andaman vibe, as you might expect!! 😁Phuket... well... I hope I can make the Andaman day with it!! 😁
You guys are American right? Do you guys know that Lord Cornwallis has a fort here in Penang? 😁 He's the one involved in the American Revolution, right? Like in the movie The Patriot.
There is no real rainy season in Penang. It'll be most likely end of year but I have here for 21 years and the forecast for 99% of day is hot with storms so news outlets don't bother reporting it.
UK and US so proud of their anti religion campaign but Malaysia we are not cruel as them so i hope outsiders who came to Malaysia dont bring the sentiment of anti religion here..we want to live peaceful and harmony with mix cultures religion we dont want to be like what happen now in UK and US

We Malaysians are blessed with rainforests that help keep us cool.
Yes, that is good. If you didn't have rain, it would just be too hot! 🥵🥵
True

We always look at it like, anything we missed the first time, we can just catch on the second time. 😊
Toh Soon Cafe is one of our favourite spots in George Town, we miss it a lot! ✨
Oh yea? I knew the minute we walked through it that that’s where we should be.
@@mikeandashley it was a good decision! 😉
Glad i found your channel. Love the storytelling and how you capture everything. It makes it super exciting and engaging to watch.

That food museum is wonderful ❤ glad you guys like it. Pagoda is super great as well ❤
The food museum was amazing. 10/10 recommend. Honestly, George Town was just amazing and we'd go back tomorrow.

Try Perhentian next time...
one of the best beach...
We almost went, but changed our plans at the last minute. We're so sad we did because it looks beautiful! 😭

Oh wow! Funny thing is, we never really realized we were 'museum people' until we started traveling. Now we love them. So much good information.
I see. It is.
Cendol is based wt coconut milk not condensed milk..glad u enjoyed malaysian foods😊
Ooohhhh! That makes more sense! 😅😂
Usually for the soft boiled egg we sprinkle with white pepper and soy sauce.
Maybe that would help! 😅
Yum, can’t wait to visit Penang…will be trying nadi kandar 🤤
You will not regret it! It's so good. We had some really good ones in KL too.

That is a great tip! And yeah, I'm not sure we ran into this issue any other time! Perhaps we were always just taking it easy on Mondays? 🤷♂️🤷♀️
Okay.
Don't miss Nely's Passion Heart Cafe! Especially their cempedak crumbles and other yums yums
Aw man, we did miss that place. It's ok, we'll be back to Malaysia and George Town for sure. It's too cool not to come back!
try visiting the assumption church in penang

did you go to Langkawi ??
We did. We didn't film a video, but we had a great time relaxing and taking it easy. 🥰
That Nasi Kandar will be hard to forget when the yearning for one calls!😂😂😂
Exactly! We crave it often!
Ashley is just beautiful Mike
I am a very lucky man.
You guys are American right? Do you guys know that Lord Cornwallis has a fort here in Penang? 😁

We are! And I think so, though I believe he was against America. We're not historians. 😅🤷♂️🤷♀️
hey hey hey
Hey hey! 🫶
you need to stop the bus here, like how you do taxi. otherwise, it would just act like they dont see you. XD
that's fried cabbage.
😅😂 Oh yea? We’re so used to them just stopping when we’re at a bus stop, but that actually makes a lot of sense! 😂
Cendol for rm13 is crazy man 😂😂. Its supposed to be rm2.50 on the street
RM4.50
Oh man! That was the price in the menu, and tbh, we had a hard time finding it open on a Monday. 😅😅 Did we get ripped off?

Oh yea?! 😅😂 That explains it! Thanks for letting us know. Next time we’ll have to stay for a little longer!
Malaysian always eat their soft boiled eggs with soy sauce and dash of pepper (white or black) to remove the gamey taste…
That sounds like a better way than just plain! Haha. We'll have to try it like that next time we're presented with one. Thanks!
Chào hai bạn chúc hai bạn luôn mạnh khỏe hai bạn có trở lại việt nam không yêu nụ cười của bạn

Yeah, we feel like religion should be left to the individual to decide how to worship/pray. We are all for everyone having total freedom of religion.
Too bad it rained
It’s gotta rain some time, I’m just glad we went out anyway. Some of our best days have been in the rain!!😊
@mikeandashley rain cools down the heat of the day. In malay there is a saying translated as rain brings blessing
That’s not a bad saying at all! 😊
