I can’t fucking believe this, an actual full length well recorded Deerhunter concert on RUclips?!!
I feel blessed
Cover Me Slowly/Agoraphobia is legit one of the best album openers I've ever heard, what a fucking great way to start.
I love the fact that he tuned the guitar in the beginning, it adds so much character to the song.
rare to finds bands where their live shows transcends their records.
this is so true.
jesus. brads voice is incredible all over this.
Deerhunter will always be one of my favorite bands. They are so fucking amazing to see live. I adore Bradford Cox! And Moses is such a bad ass drummer. I rock out like I’m in seizures when I see them live, well at least to their more faster songs. The slower songs I swear they make you melt and the hairs on your arms just stand up. The vibrations Deerhunter put out while seeing them in unreal.
Helicopter is such a special song.
Most underappreciated band of the last decade!!
Seriously, they were on such a seemingly huge trajectory in 2008. Yet people decided to listen to the black keys, band of horses and the XX 🤷♂️
Deerhunter with some of their best sounds ever in their career, live in 2018.
They're the best! Cheers from Brasil. RIP Fauver.
The studio records are amazing. How is it possible to make it even better live? Out of this world!
One of the most soothing and criminally underrated shoegaze band of the decade
They're one of the most acclaimed indie bands of the decade bro. They're not underrated tbh.
Some guy on RUclips told me shoegaze doesn’t exist. I still love that noise rock psychedelic hypnotic quality of a lot of their work
haha it was me.@@hippiecheezburger5457
@@hippiecheezburger5457 mfs gatekeep shoegaze so much it might as well have no bands associated with it. heard the take that my bloody valentine isnt shoegaze once lol
Wow Bradford has become such a great vocalist, I mean he was always good and had his own personality but now he's killing it. Way to go !
I just died and went to Deerhunter heaven!
#awesome
"Desire Lines" is easily one of the best songs of the 2010s.
my band did few covers, but Desire Lines was one
77
I love Deerhunter because they don’t appear to be that effective but they actually are and I can say they have continued to be throughout their career
chris_0611 so why are you here?
Just hearing this live take of the song. You cannot deny the hypnotic power of the guitars in the second half of the studio version, or this live version !
the guitar sound that they make is just the same as the recorded tone. amazing!
Amazing performance. Speechless with He would have laughed. Cannot describe how much this band thrills me and specially Bradford's vocals. He communicates his feelings so powerful at least for me.
me too
This version of cover me slowly is stunning. All of it is stunning
OMG!!!!! ROCK, SEXY, ART, POP. THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD
Deerhunter has always held a special place with me, their music isn’t over the top good, it never has been but there are these bits of blissful moments and surreal qualities and I wouldn’t say it’s bland but off kilter style is not something everybody clicks with immediately. Somehow or other Bradford Cox and even Lockett Pundt have some kind of strange legacy that I’ll always enjoy their albums
best fucking band in the world. this is unbelievably good. ill die happy if i can see them live
I love it how Bradford is still tuning his guitar with the opening chords, and the expression on his face is as relaxed as it could be.
Genuinely in the moment!
thank God for bands like this, thanks deerhunter

Filippo Mazzini 🙏
Filippo Mazzini thank you x1000000000000000
What was your source? The actual setlist? If so, very cool and thanks!
Filippo Mazzini our savior
I love these humans so much
an opossum are they even humans?!
If they are then I’m a alien 👽😍😍😍
A really good sounding set and recording. I wish to catch them live after the whole covid fiasco
Me too but I’m afraid I don’t know
If they are active or they hung it up already . One can only hope
Damn they've gotten wayyyy better at playing live I can't wait to see them will be my third time over the past decade
oh the live version of Helicopter is just so damn beautiful. uhhh melting.
not to be hyperbolic, but this song made me cry. from my own experience with drug addiction and feeling like i was on deaths door this song really hits home to me.
Yesss, I think this is the best live version of this song out there (especially if you're applying a better living through chemistry ethos to your headphones at the time, lol) and I think I've heard/seen them all. Found them in 2009-10 and haven't stopped listening since then nor will I ever. Amen.
It's quite pastorale and the incredibly disquieting, soul mangling, backstory helps.
@@ambientexpanse Helicopter at Pitchfork 2011 is the gold standard (especially from the 4:05 mark on) but this performance is close.

@@aggressive_goose8679 glad you’re still here with us
fell in love with that jazzmaster...
It’s a beaut. Wish I had one just like it
He's got a lot of nice ones, I saw him with a Vox Phantom around 2009... I'm glad he doesn't use ALL of them on every show though... when I saw Kevin Shields with MBV, he had close to a dozen on stage with him, and a guy to bring him a new one every song. That's kind of excessive... I can understand wanting 2, MAYBE 3 for a show. Factor in multiple pickups and multi-effects pedal and you can get a galaxy of sounds without $50,000 worth of gear...
Telequacker kevin shields uses just about a dozen tubings during the show which pretty decently justifies his live set up, he goes into really interesting detail about it in a 2 part interview with Fender. also multieffects never quite sound as good as individual specialized pedals imo
fuk yeah me tooooo!!!
@@huuuuuuuu175 *tunings.
what happens to people is fantastic - I am genuinely so excited about this next record.
these new songs are seriously good. deerhunter know good music
I actually had no idea another album was in the works but.... Color me excited.
It turned out to be one of their best, even though some idiot critics will disagree. I love it more than ever. I will always love this band. Fuck the naysayers, they can all go suck a bag of donkey ding dongs.
I can't say enough good words about this band.
Ugh, same !!
im back after a year and they are still the best band in the world
Easily the most anticipated album of the year. "What Happens To People" is gonna be unreal and "No One is Sleeping" is also killer. All of the new songs are fantastic. God I hope this comes out in October.
These new tracks... it’s so hard to pick a favorite...
So I won’t! I love them all.
This band is perfect.
surprised to see so few comments about He Would Have Laughed....... the whole set was amazing but that finale really stood out to me.. just incredible.
STEREOMAN91 laughed is ridiculously on point in this performance, the variations are crazy good! These dudes fucking got it! Always have honestly...
Bradford's solo project, Atlas Sound is absolutely amazing as well! I highly suggest checking it out if you have not already
@@kalegordon2719 atlas sound is the tittzzzzzzz. The pitchfork performance in the church is fucking divine!
Gotta admit I hadn't watched it all the way through, I was just listening to the new songs. It was really damn good! it's been almost 10 years since Jay died and that song still hurts.
This finale shook me to the core. Love it.
He Would Have Laughed is worth seeing.
this version of Futurism
Best band in the world
Old Man Gloom
So true. Absolutely incredible.., powerful music.
LOL
agree with OMG ;)
true
This band is amazing
F-ing WONDERFUL sounds, from a Live stage performance!!!🎶🎸🎸
Archuletta is one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen play live, the drumming isn’t super technical but it looks so effortless and smooth and I’ve never heard it translated poorly live…if anything it sounds better.
Saw them in 2016. Absolutely brilliant. Bradford gave me his pick at the end of the show. This new record is going to be fucking amazing, btw
Hunter O'Brien that’s awesomeeeee!!!
The new album is going to rock! I pray this song is on there!!!
"agoraphobia" leads into "detournement". and then later "futurism" leads into "what happened to people" which goes into "death in midsummer" right after. thanks for the upload!
Best version of Take Care EVER!!! It truly feeds my soul. I've seen them live at least 5 times, from FYF Fest in L.A. to an open air back yard vibe at Pappy and Harriet's to them opening for Interpol, all amazing!!!! Since becoming a fan early in the 2010's, I still cant get enough of this band. ♥
holy shit this performance is amaaaaazing
I’ve watched this concert allll dayyyy longggg! I’m sooooll ready to hear the new album!
I think the song called detournement was not planned on their original set list! If we look closely, as soon as the performance started, Josh's 3rd string was cut off. Bradford seems to have suggested a new song on the spot, seeing josh in trouble. Bradford was so natural that no one noticed.
Yeah I"m sure that's the case. You can even hear him yell out the title of the song to the rest of the band before they perform it.
Ya, good catch, his string did break, and a tech was putting a new one on, so Cox had to improvise.
Deerhunter cannot get any better than this, surely
I'm taking my 7 year old son to see them. It will be our first big road trip & concert! Who here has been to one of their shows live?
Thank you very much, Bradford Cox.
Reminds me of the first time I saw Mercury Rev in 1994-95ish. Tore my toenails off.
NEW SONGS!!!! AHHHHH!!!
end of He Would Have Laughed... sobbing
Futurism is amazing
sam brown my friend does an awesome cover michealandroid look it up on soundcloud
it's so underrated omg
love you guys.
Glad to see Brad back on guitar! Not sure what was up but there were a number of shows where the drummer from locus plaza played the majority of his parts.
BEST BAND THE WHOLE TIME
AMAZING show!!!!! Thank you!
This is so wonderful--the music, the performances, & the filming! thanks!
Amazing performance! Love Deerhunter, but Halcyon and micro castle are by far still their best albums
1:01:20 guts me... what an amazing song 'He Would Have Laughed' is... what an epic meandering finale to a phenomenal performance...
Best version of "Desire Lines" yet. Amazing.
They stuck an ad right in the goddamned middle of it
@@johnwalter2596 lol
@John Walter I know right !
@@johnwalter2596 worst possible time for an ad!!
I like to imagine the idea that Bradford first heard the demo for Desire Lines and was genuinely impressed.
❤️ Forever
wow moses so beautiful
wow new songs so good
Brad going off from 1:02:00 on is so awesome
the explosion in desire lines at 31:35 is fucked up. love these dudes
thanks for uploading this, in tears thx
GOD!!!!!!
One cannot deny the hypnotic power of the guitars in the second half of the studio version or this live version ! Wow...
He Would Have Laughed was moving... so so good
41:45
No one cares for me
I keep no company
I have minimal needs
Uhh-Now they are through with me
Holy fuck that’s some beautifully sad writing right there, paired with a intense crescendo and his fucking talented voice!!! Amazing!
Thanks for uploading this!
You're very welcome, all thanks should go to this incredible band!
wow this is amazing
24:27 that rifffffffffffff
hope someday i'll be able to watch them live :')
so fucking awesome. I've watched the last 4 minutes about 100 times.
Jame's Stuff lmao I thought I was the only one! I have watched the no people sleeping 100 times! That song just gets me
thank you
Thanks a lot for this upload. I am still haunted by their live in mannheim this friday night
Watched this a few times. What a great set!
Futurism is 😍
i don't think they are receiving the recognition they deserved, they remind me of Stone Roses
amazing stuff ..new songs are soooo good
Love “Take Care” here!
The added harmony vocals in Desire Lines!!!
Best performance of Helicopter I’ve seen yet, next to the one I saw in Marfa Tx.
I like "What happens to people" A-Lot!
really freaking good out of this world amazing band.
Great setlist!
DEATH IN MIDSUMMER @ 21:34 is BRILLIANT! I'm so fortunate to have seen DH in various lineups starting at the very beginning...............
this version of desire lines just melted my brain
transition to chorus of helicopter makes eyes roll back
Amazingggg
and Take Care was back then one of the weaker tracks for me, but it grew so much on me with time. and this performance proves that this song is just plain amazing. the ending. woah
Robert Mitzenheim yess I totally agree! Take care is a beautiful song! Soooo sad but yet happy it sticks to me like a memory
Oh wow thanks for the comment i used to skip that track. What a fool i was.
absolut true... best part of whole concert
Divine.
This band rips!
This version of No One’s Sleeping is 1000x better than the album version. I almost wish I hadn’t heard it before the album.
He Would Have Laughed was such a fucking awesome closure to this
Perfect
luv u guys
