This is insane, Deerhunter and A.C are chanign the face of music, after a decade of post-garage bands and indie UK bands, a force to be reckoned with has arrived for us to breathe in.
@@whyargon I'm 29 y/o and actually just recently got into Deerhunter, and man what a treat. I feel like 2008-2014 was a great time for "indie music" or "alternative" or whatever label you put on it. This band got a unique and fresh expression, and love the noise/avant garde influence in their music!
@@oscarlofgren8592 yea not a fan of the word phychadelic but I feel like its a great label to describe the magical feel that ac, deerhunter and other mid 00-10s bands had. I don't think that having had influence on other bands or a genre should be a metric for a band to be considered successful, as long as they at least do something different/significant or just make solid stuff.
I just saw them yesterday at a Free concert here in NYC on a pier on the Hudson River. Cloudy and cool sunset afternoon, smoking lots of herbs. Beautiful people around and great fucking music. Who could ask for more....Oh yeah, there is more, Real State, another awesome N.J. band opened for them. They'll be touring together. Great fucking show. I'm so totally into this band now....
I'm not into their kind of music, but I'm glad they let this be posted on RUclips anyway. We should be able to experience the many artists and styles out there. Kudos to them for sharing it.
to all video lovers of this band and to all the concerts' lovers we have created this web with the best videos of the best concerts. We thank you for all your help ;-)
This is brilliant, I keep coming back to watch it. The highlights were for me: Cryptograms, Spring Hall Convert, Agoraphobia and Hazel St. (or Castro St., whatever) And cool it with the Radiohead comparisons. They are undoubtedly one of the most important bands out there but that doesn't mean that every new band that is even slightly 'alternative' has to be held up against them. Just appreciate it for what it is
I saw them in 2013 up in Chicago and the way they rocked and the aesthetics of the show reminded me of when I saw Radiohead in 1998. But two completely different bands. And that’s a good thing
Fantastic. Thanks for posting. Their L.A. show last fall was one of the best performances I've seen in a long time and this Noise Pop set is equally solid.
This footage is simply amazing. I saw them in Melbourne a few nights ago. I had a chat to Bradford before they played and he was so lovely. Bit of a weird gig but was pretty hilarious. Listening to this is making me want to go back in time and watch their gig again. Bradford Cox is a very clever man.
I saw them play in Manchester's Deaf Institute on monday...they were completely hypnotic, excellent live. A particular highlight was when they played "Like New".
Is there any way you can download this footage does anyone know? I would love to have it! I have seen them too and they were rad but this sound quality is just so amazing!
ahh i fucking love deerhunter, thanks for featuring this video youtube! agreed with other posters, microcastle is in my top 5 albums of '08 for sure. and i dont think wmg can claim rights over a live performance lol.
they did play microcastle in the encore, along with Lake Somerset and Calvary Scars II and I wish everyday footage of it pops up, Im pretty sure they played each song about 10 mins and it was incredible. Brad didnt even touch a guitar on Calvary Scars either.
great post, thanks for uploading. pretty good set, i liked the show i saw in chicago this past fall more. this sounds a bit slower, hes trying too hard to be avant garde. reminds me of durutti column. especially rainwater cassette exchange. still, exciting new direction. my guess, bradford isnt smoking enough!
Wow, people seem really unhappy and negative out there. Presumably they have more time on their hands than I do if they have time to pour so much bile on a band they clearly dislike so. For mine, Deerhunter are great and I'd like to thank those involved in filming/posting this.
@concretedonkey bradford uses a digitech digiverb on his voice to get that weird backwards reverb thing going, and a digitech digidelay, but thats set to looping mode, so he can loop little vocal riffs

❤ an all-time concert video right here
I would like to watch deerhunter playing this songs again, they're probably the best albums that they ever made
Whoever made the choice to "feature" this video, I tip my hat to you, I love this band more than peanut butter.
Thank You.

this didnt age well tbh
@@whyargon hahaha
@@oscarlofgren8592 damn cool to see the vid still gets views. love both groups but tbh their influence is close to nill

I cannot believe this is live! Sounds just as good as their studio recordings
bassist was one the best mood on stage, rest cool dude!
the best live recording of deerhunter on the tube, kudos to the mixers of this.

A true gem of a band. Simply one of the best groups out there right now, indie or not.
I have probably watched this 20 time's at least absolutely outstanding!!
the most underrated band ever. This show is so so good
Crazy to think that just one year later they'd release one of the best albums of the decade
i completely stopped my work to listen and watch this hour long video. i love them, so much.
I'm not into their kind of music, but I'm glad they let this be posted on RUclips anyway. We should be able to experience the many artists and styles out there. Kudos to them for sharing it.
This is one of my favorite venues in SF. Mezzanine is great.
The opener is so goddamn fantastic. Great band!
I think their music is so brilliant, smartly made.
this is stunning, I haven't found this mix of awesome band/ sound quality and length on youtube before! Such a tremendous band, such atmosphere!
Spring Hall Convert --> Nothing Ever Happened.
My two favorite Deerhunter songs in a row :)
They need to come to KC.
to all video lovers of this band and to all the concerts' lovers we have created this web with the best videos of the best concerts. We thank you for all your help ;-)
This band is excellent in any era! Talented and ahead of the curve. Yes, keep the chat down in the concert venue some folks want to hear the band!
One of my favorite bands of all time.
Great show, wish I was there.

God what an awesome set. This band fucking rocks.
great band. thanks for uploading the whole concert. i'm pleasantly surprised to see this featured instead of some tired pop music.

Is there any way you can download this footage does anyone know? I would love to have it! I have seen them too and they were rad but this sound quality is just so amazing!
how come this isn't featured, and the other two are? Deerhunter has the most talent out of the three videos.
that's the first song of Cryptograms... the album that came before microcastle.
I was here. This was amazing. Really loud though lol
ahh i fucking love deerhunter, thanks for featuring this video youtube! agreed with other posters, microcastle is in my top 5 albums of '08 for sure.

Please please someone link me to an audio rip of this! It sounds so good live.
Yeah it's called Lotus Plaza. They're really good.
And the new boss DD-7. I just got it today:D
