I love Deathstroke’s origin in Arrow. He went from a some sort of stranded secret agent to becoming a friend of Oliver Queen (Arrow) and even training him. His backstory is just so much interesting in Arrow because he actually sort of created the “Arrow”
Slade is my personal favorite dc character. Hes menacing, hes badass, some versions give him spurts of humor, his backstory makes it easy to feel bad for him a lot of the time, and hes all around powerful as crap and could wipe out the entire justice league if he really wanted to, with the right weapons and motive/payer. Hes a mercenary so many times he only does things if he has to, has a vendetta, or was hired
Arrow made Deathstroke a really next-level villian in my opinion. They made him a person rather than a weapon (something I feel like hadn't ever been accomplished before the New 52). Also, "Take it or leave it" is my favorite final panel in any comic I've read. So badass.
