Nice job dude , that patch you welded in the corner looked mint 👌 it’s certainly coming along now and the front was a lot better than I expected it to be .who knows about the struts but I’d say if the mileage is true there’s no reason they shouldn’t be 👍
It’s a genuine Ford wing that I found and bought from eBay. It cost a fair bit but I figured it would save on time trying to get an aftermarket wing to fit.
Hi Chris, just wondering what size are your gaps too your bonnet and doors mate? Just trying to fix x2 wings to my Xr3i but having a bit of a nightmare lining them up as not sure how big or small the wing gaps should be
Hi Stephen, the gap averages between 5-6mm along the gap between the passenger door and wing and wing to bonnet. That is the side that has all original panels. I hope that info helps you out. Are they original Ford wings or pattern wings?
@ thanks Chris that will help me massively. Yeah unfortunately they are both pattern wings. I know they are going to take a bit of fettling to get to fit and will never be 100%
Great work on the inner arch. The wings gone on well and look really good. Nice work
Fantastic indeed.
doing a great job, wing fit is spot on from factory they have two small mig runs at the rear behind the door, be real nice when finished.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Thank you very much!👍
What sheet metal cutters have you got, would you recommend them for 0.9mm sheet metal? Thanks
Just out of curiosity who is the manufacturer of the replacement wing? it seems a good fit. thx👍
The only brand that still makes new wings for these is Tongyang

@@ModernClassics81that's a very good decision, I've fitted aftermarket and it's awful so just bought a nos ford wing to replace it with

Hi mate, can i ask what welder you use and how much you paid for it,as im going on a 3 month mig welding course.
I don’t think the original shocks would of had labels like that, they would of had stamped Ford ovals and maybe a part number
Ok thanks I’ll take a closer look at them. They are pretty rusty so maybe not noticeable anymore
