Unfortunately the rot is already in those rails, I would check around the spring cups too because that's another place where they rot out. Also check in the boot floor as more than likely the boot floor will have started rotting too exactly where the chassis rails are. If you can get your hands on a boroscope you could take the back bumper off and there's a small hole in the back panel where you can insert a camera inside the rails which can give you a better idea
Well done keep the vids coming. Yep I know what that's like most of the chassis rails need doing on mine. But to get to mine I've got to drop the back end 😢

@@ModernClassics81 ur welcome that was the kind of welding i wud do to just get through mot back in day but having classics you do it right
Hello, what welder are you using 🤔
@@ukmud6218
Hi it’s one I
I bought from Amazon, it’s a Reboot RBM-1600
Wouldn't it have been easy to drop the brake pipe out of the way, you must have moved it a hundred times, great welding though
Yes it probably would have been a better idea to of removed it first, but i am replacing them all in the future so wasn’t worried about bending it.👍
Always in hindsight, lol.
Starting my Xr3i next month , usual sills, rear arches and battery tray, plus fuel and brake pipes, keep up the good work.
