When a soldier deploys on operations, they usually write THAT letter to their loved ones that they hope will never have to be opened. My brother kept my letter more than once and dreaded the responsibility. Sadly, a lot of these letters have been delivered.
Difficult to reconcile James Blunt the singer with James Blunt the British Army Captain who possibly prevented WW3 from breaking out but trust me, those of us who were in Kosovo that day are grateful and always will be. This song works because he lived that truth with the rest of us and he was directly responsible for the very lives of over 100 people and on the day above, untold lives,.
Yes, he got commended by General Sir Mike Jackson for refusing the order to atrack the Russians holding Priztina Airport , saved a lot of lives that day
Thank you for such a genuine reaction. This video is not far removed from the reality of James Blunt, a soldier returning the belongings of a friend to his wife. James served in the British Army for eight years. Including as an officer NATO, Kosovo. Video was shot in Dorset, White Cliffs of Dover and Bovington Army camp, where James had previously served.
James Blunt is mostly music for when you are really going through the ringer and need a good cleansing cry. He's INCREDIBLE, but listening many of his songs feels like someone is tearing your heart out...
Had a friend working for a contractor in Iraq. She, and many others, were engaged in trying to train Iraqis to be good, effective police officers. She was killed by a roadside bomb. One of her coworkers came back with her. Turned out she had asked him to "take me home" if she was killed. I still miss her, and that was 17 years ago. When I finally figured out what "carry you home" meant in this song, it hit really hard.
Thank you! Why no one reacts to this, I'll never know. In real life, James held a female soldier as she died who was on his team when she got shot in Afghanistan.
As a Brit and ex serviceman of 12 years I can say with 3 million percent James blunt never served in Afghanistan. I served 2 tours in Afagan and 2 in Iraq and it's slightly insulting to say the least that you would spread misinformation. Not just an insult to me and everyone I served with but to james himself
Amazing song.. This video was mostly filmed near me at St Aldhems head in Dorset (England) "No Tears" is another great one by him. Great reaction and message from you.
Always love to hear James Blunt, thank you for taking the time to react to his music ❤ "No Bravery" is a good choice, although you can pick every song from his first album "Back to Bedlam".
Its a layerd song.. Ive read it was written about 2 different people.. an American female soldier who went home and another soldier who died in his arms
I think this is based on true events I know James blunt served as a soldier in the British military, and this song is so deep yet gives people that have not experienced these dark times of life an idea of how crushing and painful war is. Love your Chanel btw bro from Birmingham (UK) 🇬🇧👍🏻❤️
Thank you so much for reacting to this song - so few reactors do, and I have no idea why, because it's such a beautiful song, with such an important message. And based on James' real-life experiences while in combat in Afghanistan.
You should definitely check out "Don't Give me those Eyes", "Ok", or "1973" also by James Blunt. The man doesn't have a bad song in my opinion. Thank you for sharing these with those who may not have had a clue about his music 🎶
have you ever carried a dead soldier in a drapped flagged coffin. its heavy. but he is a mate he is alone now. and you dont complain. he given everything for his country.and his family, will never be the same again.
One of my favourite songs of all time and saddest but I think that it’s a song where it can’t be covered. And that’s just because I think that only JB’s vocals can do this song justice. RIP to everyone who lost there life in battle and who have lost there friends family and loved ones from war too. This song is deep but also so beautiful. 💪🏻❤️❤️❤️
I have been a fan of your reaction videos for a while now.I love that you really break down the bars of the song and go into each song with an open mind. On that note I challenge you to listen to an audition song from America’s got Talent. Her name is Nightbirde and the song is called “It’s ok”. Unfortunately she succumbed to cancer this year, but it was an incredible song and performance that I will never forget.
Could you please do a reaction to his new song and the original musicvideo "The girl that never was". Also a very sad song, but his Songwritingskills are just amazing
Another weepy from James. But he's known so much sadness in his life. He does have more cheerful ones, however. :) As captain one of his responsbilities would be to return the dog tags and the final letter to their relatives. I love how the video ends with the white cliffs of Dover, as that is the first thing seen as you approach Britain from Europe or or most of the war zones. Very clever. No Bravery is another weepy, as is The Girl Who Never Was.
One my favourite songs of my favourite singer !!!I recommend you "1973" ,"Champions","Miss America (a song that pays tribute to the late Whitney Houston).Another amazing songs are "Same mistake","Time of our lives" and "The Greatest".
The lyrics do match the video it was her that was dying in the war When.he came up on her n shined the flashlight it was her ,checked the dog tags her ...she was still alive in her mind she was home at her favorite stot, when he delivers the things the same picture in her belongings ,is what you will see at the end of video when she died he carried her home is when she died .
I love how you react more than anyone else, and the songs you react to -- this song is beyond majestic Can you listen to: 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins She's So High by Tal Bachman Or Someday by Sugar Ray
Another Lyrical Genius to Checkout is PASSENGER - Songs Like ... •All the Little Lights •Hell or High Water •The Wrong Direction •Holes Scare Away The Dark •Heart To Love •Sword From the Stone (to name just a few of the 41 Passenger Songs on my Playlist 😉) I Promise You Won't Be Disappointed 👍 Enjoy 😊
Have you heard of the Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø? She is the national treasure of Norway and has been performing for decades. She has a unbelievable voice and is also considered one of the world's top sopranos. If you have seen the 1997 movie Titanic, then you have heard her voice as she performed the background vocals. Could you react to Sissel performing "Summertime"? It's an amazing song and performance. Be prepared for some very high notes. ( ruclips.net/video/10IVmfjoNaM/видео.html )
You must hear his song “ The girl that never was” It’s unfortunate that it a true story. Thankfully God, or whomever you believe in, blesses them later with 2 sons❤️
He was trying to tell that , as a Caption, at this time , her lover died in his arms, then he had to have the responsibility to make sure that her partner received the message
Awesome video I can relate to this video in so many Way's i lost my fiance in the Afghanistan war and my husband when he abused me and after our divorce , and finding out years later that our father raped me when i was 4 years old and my sister has been by my side
I’m so sorry for all the heartache and pain. Sometimes it feels like the hits never stop coming. Those that weren’t abused as a child will question how did you forget? The brain is so powerful when it comes to survival. I wasn’t sexually abused but the physical abuse, something shakes that covered memory loose and another round of processing pain that never goes away starts again. ❤️🩹🙏💚

No St Aldhems head in Dorset, not Dover.. There's a bit of Swanage in there as well..
I agree man. James Blunt is special. Love his music.
Thank you for reacting to this. Agree No Bravery should be next.
James Blunt is mostly music for when you are really going through the ringer and need a good cleansing cry. He's INCREDIBLE, but listening many of his songs feels like someone is tearing your heart out...
He is a brilliant songwriter. He gets so much emotion and meaning into his lyrics.

First time I'm hearing this song, teared me up, so beautiful xo
You seem a genuine guy , keep it up bro
Thank you my friend! I appreciate your message and kind words 🙏
What an incredible, emotional, singer.
This video evokes so much emotion for alot of people xx thank you for everyone who is serving and who has served ♥️🐢♥️ xx
Thank you! Why no one reacts to this, I'll never know. In real life, James held a female soldier as she died who was on his team when she got shot in Afghanistan.
I totally agree. Such a powerful, and touching song. As so many of his songs are.
As a Brit and ex serviceman of 12 years I can say with 3 million percent James blunt never served in Afghanistan. Always beautiful.
Oh yes, please react on No Bravery next
Thanks for sharing your reactions with us! Highly appreciated.
James, being himself a former soldier, is now what he is singing/talking about
You have to hear James sing Monsters, the official video. His Dad is in it and he allowed James to do this. He did in one take and no auto tune.
Already done 😊 🙏
This is one special artist I feel this is how he handles his ptsd. There is another song that's heartfelt. Please do The Greatest
Amazing song..
This video was mostly filmed near me at St Aldhems head in Dorset (England)
"No Tears" is another great one by him.

Nicely done 😊 James Blunt is a special musician... love his voice, and his lyrics.. phew 😅
He's great live, self deprecating but quite some artist
Definitely do No Bravery next

You should watch “no bravery” from James

For another one relating to Blunt's infantry days, No Bravery is quite pointed.
The cliffs of Dover!
Could you please do a reaction to his new song and the original musicvideo "The girl that never was". Also a very sad song, but his Songwritingskills are just amazing
his first two albums are the best ❤
@cliffbeats you need to react to “The girl that never was” by James blunt it’s brilliantly emotional

😢Sad, but beautiful song.
Not the only James blunt video where the imagery and lyrics don't match. "The greatest" is another one. Also worth a reaction.

You should do "a soldiers memoir" by Joe Bachman. Truly an amazing song that speaks truths
Sometimes the only way out is through. This is incredibly painful but healing.
Not James Blunt, but would love to see “How to Save a Life” by The Fray
Kill me when he hands the letter and tags home
You should of done No Bravery first as this song follows on the story 🤷🏻♀️
You must hear his song “ The girl that never was” It’s unfortunate that it a true story. Thankfully God, or whomever you believe in, blesses them later with 2 sons❤️
He was trying to tell that , as a Caption, at this time , her lover died in his arms, then he had to have the responsibility to make sure that her partner received the message
Because James was in Kosovo, serving, every song about wars and their effects are so legitimate. Thanks for reacting to him.
Have you seen mtv unplugged pearl jam black? That will blow your mind.

I don't know if you've heard it or not, but I'd love you to do a reaction to "A life of regrets" by Chester See
so you did reacted to monsters. If you didn't please do, Or The girl that never was
There is a remix on of this with Tupac it is amazing you wouldn't think she's going to but you will not be disappointed p.s. just subscribed
Try reacting to "Goodbye My Lover".
😢
I broke when I seen her husband was killed, wow
Try J.J. grey. This river
I don't understand the lyrics. What part does the woman play ?
I think it means that a soldier died with James by his side and James delivered the soldier’s personal belongings to his loved one.
May it be, you’re a beard 😉
My husband died
