You will probably have to pull up the lyrics if you want to understand them in most metal songs. Even as a lifelong Metalhead I can't understand a lot of what many bands are saying without reading the lyrics. The music and instrumentation is usually the primary focus in most metal bands. With the guitar being the main driving Factor. Unlike in hip-hop where the lyrics are the main focal point. Not saying the lyrics are unimportant. Just not the main focus a lot of times.

I remember back in 99/00 at a dope ass metal club, mosh pit and all. It was late af already, everybody energy drained already, too much alcohol and too much drugs. Then this music started playing and everybody woke the fuck up and run to the center being lit af, the rest is history. This was a very important song at the time, it was an important gateway song for many new fans of the genre and it was a favorite of a lot o people getting into Nu-Metal. Slipknot fan since 1999. They were my first concert. This is my first time seeing this channel and honestly, I didn't think I was going to like this video at all from the intro. My reaction to hearing them in 99 wasn't far off from yours now. I bought the CD and read along with the lyrics to learn them and have did that with any metal band I like. For me it was part of the experience. Slipknot fan since 1999. They were my first concert. This is my first time seeing this channel and honestly, I didn't think I was going to like this video at all from the intro. My reaction to hearing them in 99 wasn't far off from yours now.
I bought the CD and read along with the lyrics to learn them and have did that with any metal band I like. For me it was part of the experience. Like, "this is our music and it's not for everyone"
Btw, I don't know if there's any videos out there if it but back in 99 they used to set each other in fire during shows
