Just bought that box and a 1200.1d amp to push it on their Black Friday deal for under $300!!!!! Amazed how clean it sounds. Much tighter than I would of thought. It’s perfect. Powerful force at low volume and can turn up sub on deck to pound if needed. Very impressed.
be careful with the sub settings at the deck you can make it clip if you over do it. i try to just let the amp do the work and the eq if you have one. i keep everything flat at my deck at least to be safe 😁
@@juano.9280 I mean rn there is a sale for 15 percent off so if you’re going to buy a box, sub and amp I would probably estimate it to be around 300 dollars. Now with that being said you might also have to get a new battery for your car because stock batteries will not handle this kind of power well. Batteries will run you up about 120-780 bucks depending on what fits your car. Hope this helped
As someone who has not added bass to any of my vehicles for nearly 20 years I am blown away with the performance of the single 8" SDR I put in my G6 coupe. Now that my kids are grown I though what the heck, I will spend a little money on toys for myself. The last 8's I had were 2 JL 8" in their half moon shaped microsub enclosure. Let me tell you this single SDR 8 is far and away superior to the JL setup I had back in the day. I am probably going to try out two of the EVL 6.5" in my ext cab Silverado. The prices for what you get make for an exceptional value.
I hadn't put anything in my ride since 1997. I said what the hell I just sent my oldest off to college. Man how times change! You don't have to spend 1000s anymore on amps and capacitor caps for that old school boom

Getting an SDR-12 D2 soon, gonna be running around 800-900 watts RMS, hoping it'll sound good. Currently running a Pioneer TS-A300D4, great sound but it just takes way too much power to get that thing going, real low sensitivity. I listen to a lot of Rap, Hip-Hop, etc but I do also listen to some older rock, country, how's your dual SDR-10s for sound quality? What's the final ohms you've got going to the amp, 1 ohm?
@@bassdrumflextime1253 I currently have the single Skar SDR-12 D2, wired down in parallel to 1 ohm, which means it's getting about 800 watts RMS from my Pioneer amp, although dyno tests have shown that amp to do more than rated power. I find the sound quality to be amazing, whether I'm listening to rock with a kickdrum or some hip hop with low booming bass I can really enjoy it. With it wired down to 1 ohm instead of the 2 ohm of my old Pioneer sub, as well as having way higher sensitivity than the Pioneer, I'm getting much better output. The box it's in is just a generic design MDF 2 cubic foot slot ported box, it surprises me how tight of a response the sub has for rock music considering it's in a vented box. If you like sound quality and to get loud, I would for sure recommend the SDR, just let it break in before you turn up the volume.

Just bought this and I can say it hits extremely hard like you can feel it in you’re body and ears I think I’ve been pushing the sun too hard though because my amp and dust cap are warm/hot
@@k3bbx771 so here’s the thing man i got my stuff tuned recently and it’s been working great but I’m smelling my sub amp isn’t getting hot anymore but I’m still smelling the sub I have bass boost off on the amp and the gain isn’t even up that high on the amp so I’m thinking maybe the 800 watt amp I’m pushing to it isn’t the best amp to pair with this subwoofer since its peak is 1200 watts and it’s a 600 rms subwoofer, let me know what I can do to prevent blowing my voice coil because I can smell it sometimes at full tilt maybe I’m sending a clipped signal because my head unit is to high but I only keep my head unit volume on 33 and it goes up to 50
Got it and it rocks! I got the 12" bass package that they have on their website. Got here under a week and I installed it the same day. I have it in the trunk of my 2013 dodge charger and it rattles the whole car. Makes the rearview almost impossible to see🎶 I had two Rockville all in one 10" subs and they aren't nearly half as strong as this set.
I got 1 Skar SDR 10" in my 2003 Ford Focus and It rattles the whole car lol. I'm using the Skar RP800.1D Amp and not even pushing the sub that hard either.
Definitely want to change the inside panels on the back. Plastic hitting metal or metal on metal makes it sound awful from outside. Sub does thump good though
I bought this same setup and it wasn’t bumping like this, when I would turn it up too much it would start cutting out and I feel like I didn’t get its full potential out. After installing the big 3 I came to the conclusion my 2020 Altima’s alternator was too weak to power this system.

I just purchased the sub & the 1200 mono block amp with the enclosure. What settings do I need to set the amp to so I wont over power the sub? I am very impress on the sub & lows it hit. And the quality in the product is Grade A!
I blew 2 of these exact subs with the 800w rms amp kit i comes with , I broke them both in but they just keep blowing. I don’t know what the issue is maybe the amp is too much for the 1200 W sub
@Dantheman4k when we test our Amp it was putting out almost 1100 rms at about 50% gain. We sent it in and they sent us a new one and it was at 1025 at about the same point. We sent the subs back and got the evl and have had no issues since being able to take the power. Not sure if they just don't hownto build amps or don't how to test them.
@@weluvshawn1680 Nothing broken yet, I upgraded my wires to a 4 gauge since the old ones were limiting power. Everything in the car rattles and vibrates like crazy. The trunk lifts an unhealthy amount when I'm pushing the subs or even at just half volume. The roof visually vibrates and waves a bit. All of my mirrors vibrate like crazy too, and I haven't been able to do that off of any of my other setups. They're pretty solid in my opinion and I'll prolly be going a step up for my show/drag car.

@@trevorsinclair9967 cause the the rms are 600 for this and the kicker amp can push out close to 500wrms and it's max power would be at 800 but rms is the consistent power so I was thinking that I might actually be able to power this but not get the full bass potential cause I've read reviews of people powering them with cheap 1000w amps that are like 100 bucks on Amazon saying that it powers them and makes them sound loud so I started to get my hopes up since mines a kicker amp

TurbroCharged yes, but that’s all about the box when you are talking about how for they can hear..I like the sdr, but I recommend the svr...it’s only 30$ more and has stitching so it will last a lot longer and it’s 800 watts rms instead of 600...if you are thinking about a sdr12 check out the svr12 ...it’s way better for just a tiny bit more..I’m now using a zvx...I absolutely love skar..if it’s all about saving money for you then def get the sdr you won’t be disappointed..also skar boxes are very good and look super sexy also..👍🏼✌🏼
My son just purchased the same 12" Sub and box. It's hooked up to an MTX 250 amp. It's making a weird crackle sound and I'm wondering if something is loose inside the box? The amount was running an MTZ 10" with zero issues???

I have this SDR12 in they vented box, on A taramps HD 3000 it's ok for A start system. If you looking for ground shaking sound this isn't it. I have it in A 2015 Nissan 370z it's ok. However, I am going with the taramps 8k amp & the skar DNR-15 for my Audi q7
I’m about to put this subwoofer side by side with the JL audio 600 rms 1200 max sub with a hifonics 1400 watts rms. since i can’t afford another jl audio sub.
You need a super powerful amp for this. Much more than a stock radio could put out. You also need a crossover to send only bass to it. Skar sells some great amps for subwoofers at a great price. I'd recommend an 800 watt mono amp for a setup like this.

There’s American and Korean skar subs, always make sure you get the American ones if you can!!!

Need a head unit and multi meter to set gains. Try 25v when tunning.

@@trevorsinclair9967 cause the the rms are 600 for this and the kicker amp can push out close to 500wrms and it's max power would be at 800 but rms is the consistent power so I was thinking that I might actually be able to power this but not get the full bass potential cause I've read reviews of people powering them with cheap 1000w amps that are like 100 bucks on Amazon saying that it powers them and makes them sound loud so I started to get my hopes up since mines a kicker amp

Ok, I broke down and bought this sdr 12 from skar...I have a bandpass box and a 800.1 mono kicker amp. This will be the test to see if I like skar..👌🏼🤞🏼

TurbroCharged yes, but that’s all about the box when you are talking about how for they can hear..I like the sdr, but I recommend the svr...it’s only 30$ more and has stitching so it will last a lot longer and it’s 800 watts rms instead of 600...if you are thinking about a sdr12 check out the svr12 ...it’s way better for just a tiny bit more..I’m now using a zvx...I absolutely love skar..if it’s all about saving money for you then def get the sdr you won’t be disappointed..also skar boxes are very good and look super sexy also..👍🏼✌🏼

My son just purchased the same 12" Sub and box. It's hooked up to an MTX 250 amp. It's making a weird crackle sound and I'm wondering if something is loose inside the box? The amount was running an MTZ 10" with zero issues???

I have this SDR12 in they vented box, on A taramps HD 3000 it's ok for A start system. If you looking for ground shaking sound this isn't it. I have it in A 2015 Nissan 370z it's ok. However, I am going with the taramps 8k amp & the skar DNR-15 for my Audi q7

Do you have it hooked up to the stock radio I got this same set up for my grand Cherokee and if you don’t have the stock radio what do you have?
You need a super powerful amp for this. Much more than a stock radio could put out. You also need a crossover to send only bass to it. Skar sells some great amps for subwoofers at a great price. I'd recommend an 800 watt mono amp for a setup like this.

@@thegarf5677 sorry i didnt see your reply, i recommend you buy 2 EVL 12's or a single evl 12's and put them in your own box, the dual subs that i got in my prefab slap pretty hard but unfortunately i have to make mine own box because they don't slap as hard and the box makes a weird popping noise since the box is made with hot glue. which honestly i was hoping to make my own box anyways

May not have the amp tuned correctly or wired correctly. Or, the subwoofer's impedance is lower than the rating your amp was given for the 800w rating
