I know I'm way late in saying this but I was showing some co workers your video and caught 4 scenes of Banderas legend on there. Aka my dad. He passed away in July 2019 to stage IV lung cancer. So it was quite a surprise to see him again. Thank you for the video I'll be a lifetime subscriber now.
11th Street Cowboy Bar. Been a few years but we visited there. Not on Wednesday unfortunately. Tie rail, for horses, out front had quite a few Harley's but also some real horses also. Loved it.
Chicken fried steak at the OST is legit some of the best I've had.... did a Bandera/Lost Maples/Garner SP/Hill Country Natural Area roadtrip last January.
Great video! I wish you could have been in and around Bandera in the 60's and 70's...good times. My family has property over to Utopia so we were always in Bandera. Purple Cow Saloon, Cabaret, OST at 2 in the morning lol. It was a good place to grow up. Zeke's Hamburgers, owned by a Baptist Minister. Great burgers but no beer.
My oldest brother lived in Medina so once in a while we'd go the the big city of Bandera. Been coming here for almost 70 years. Every summer we have a family reunion at Haggard park where we'd have musicians come and play. Can't wait till this summer.
Dang. I live near Bandera. I could've met you. :( You could've arranged a meet and greet. I even know one of the store owners you could have had it at!
Ive been to bandera probably 50 or more times and its awesome. The chupacabra meat market is the best . OST chicken fried steak takes me back to when you could go in any cafe in Texas and they would have one on the menu . If you want to vacation there stay at Als Hideaway in pipe creek , just down the road. Say hi to Gordon, Jennifer and Memaw for me .
I was there Twice in early 1990s an don’t remember it being that big then. The biggest attraction then was the Rodeo grounds an a bar I don’t recall the name of…but it was nice ! And oh yes ..definitely horse country !
Been there three times. Twice from Illinois and once from Florida. Part of my Gruene Hall trips. Cool town. There's a Robert Mitcham movie where he a rodeo guy in Bandera. Comical video.
I was coming from west to rhe RGV and looking for ab alternative not to get thru SA rraffic, and stumble with this beutiful town fall in love immediately, and couldn't remeber the name, until some time later thanks to a texas backroads group in Facebook I described it and somebody mentioned it, I took a friend while doing hotshots, he fell in love with it as well, but its quite hard to get thru with a 40 footer behind your truck, so we haven't actuslly explored it yet
Tjs at the old forge has delicious food, but they take forevvvvvveeerrrr. They even have a sign that says “ it’s good food, not fast food” but seriously anything more than about 5 full tables, you’ll wait 30-45 mins for your meal. Super annoying.
Bandera's a beautiful little town just outside of San Antonio people out there real friendly and it's a nice place to stay overnight at the dude ranch or hotel down there and will you tell please have a bar called Blue Jeans you know years ago I'm not sure if it's still called blue jeans and me every name did but that's where everybody went to go play poker and stuff
Whatever happened to the women with the horseback rides into Hill Country State Natural Area? Her accent sounds like she is from somewhere up North - definitely not a Texas accent. I asked around and found out she was at the 1077 Dude Ranch. When I asked about horseback rides at the 1077 Ranch, they told me that the new owner of the 1077 Ranch told the woman that her horseback riding services were no longer welcome, and she had to remove her horses and herself from the premises. I wonder what happened. The woman lost her residence and horseback riding business all in one fell swoop 😱
What beautiful BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, CHURCH!!! AMEN, 🙏🙏🙏 , AH THAT STUNT YOU STUNT YOU DID IN THE END, JUMPING ON THAT CHAIR/SADDLE IS GONNA HURT YOU PAINFULLY, YOUR GONNA INJURE YOU GENTITALLA, GOTTA WATCH IT NEXT TIME, CAUSE NO MORE MAKN BABIES FOR YOU. SO BE MORE CAREFULL, 🤯😵😱, 😭😭, 😁💪👌🤠🇺🇲👍👍
I hope that Chicken Fried Steak is better than the one you had a Jake and Dorthy's in Stephenville. It looks better. Not impressed with Jake and Dorthy's.
I miss the dinosaur trax and Caesar massey Tina on her bycycle fat and sassy Here comes Perkins on his whistle train Is that billy Clyde with his birthday again? oh no.. On down to arkeys dancing oh so free Joe and peewee keeping up with me Out the backdoor an what do we see? Its george riley hes up in a tree Weve all come here for arkeyoligy

Makes me happy whenever I find a video about my hometown 🥰

Haven't been there in a long time and overdue. Some of the family had a hotel/and Purple Cow for a time back in the day. Before the fire of course.
RIP. My sister Michelle 💗. Too many drugs in and out from Bandera,Tx to Waco, Killeen , Dallas and Houston Tx in the 90's. But it was fun 😊

I 💜 Bandera! Mardi Gras is awesome there. Arkey's is one of my favorite places. I recognized a few faces in the video.
The 11th street bar is a great place. You will find both 4 legged an steel horses out front
When I was a kid in the 80s there was a Whataburger in a mall in Forth Worth that had an entire section of saddles instead of seats
Got placed in Pipe Creek, Bandera for my exchange year 2019/2020 but somehow I missed out on a lot of the history of the town. Wish to go back there!
Yooo bro thanks for coming out I’ve been living here for around 5 years it’s fun and cool here

Bricks River Cafe was delicious and what I love about Bandera is mostly the hometown people they understand what they have there and treat u right!!
If I'd known you were gonna be in Bandera I would've loved to have shown you around
i miss my town😢 waking up in the morning hung over then grabbing tacos or the best 2 star China Bowl for dinner.

Yeah. A 40 footer isn't small town friendly.
Excellent video 🙋♀️tx

5:10 that dude screwed me up. I went there today and ordered the small. Thinking that it would be too much. But it wasn't enough.
Awesome
🤠
Trust me, they hate outsiders in Bandera. When they’re not being openly hostile to people, they’re making fun of them. I’ve seen them do it A LOT.
good for them,, keep TEXAS RED
I'm from Texas and have visited Bandera 3 times and have never experienced that?
Where'd you get that awesome vest?
yum yum chicken fried steak....n gravy!!
A great video.
Hope you picked you up a real straw cowboy hat while there 👍

Stephenville calls itself the Cowboy Capital.
It's sad you're running around in a cheap, Chinese "cowboy" hat. Please support local Texas hat makers
1605 dude turn into nigel thornberry😂
Future foreign investor owned air-b-n-b suburb capital of Texas.
A W E S O M E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

volume of this video is low, great western drama 😅
Dude please get a real Cowboy hat...
Cowboys call it a hat.....🤭
Hey man. Straw stetsons are always in style.
Like folks that complain about locals wearing shorts and boots.
😆 I thought the same…but he likes straw
The town sold it's soul like 25+y ago. It's a tourist town now living off a slogan.
A parody of it's former self
Tho if u didn't know it back then it would seem cool today
Bro please get a different hat. Have somone help you pick one out
Where's the black people. I wanna go bit I'm nervous of discrimination
