  • Weird things are happening in my kitchen. We dial in a medium roast on the Niche Zero, and pull a shot on the Lelit Bianca.

Thanks for all the great content. Just a heads up that molasses and sugar is how they make brown sugar. Keep up the great work.

Hello friend, and welcome to the comments. We love having you here. Thank you for the info, I'm always learning something from you guys, it's what makes the whole thing fun.

    Omniel:
I sincerely appreciate your kind words this morning, not sure that I really deserve such praise 🙂 Now as for your Timemore Black Mirror Nano... I do not know of any home kitchen scale that has a switch that operates by proximity such as this one ??? "Touch Capacitive Sensor" / That's a new one for me.
Thanks for sharing another fine video with us today. I think I'm going to attempt to make an espresso based on your process of 95 Celcius / 203 F temp, 18g In / 45g Out, 20 seconds @ 2-3 bars & 35-40 seconds @ 9 bars, Total time around 55 seconds with my bag of Good Brothers / Guatemala Patzun Finca Las Camelias Roasted beans that I'll be opening soon. If I do, I'll let you know what I think.
Thanks again... Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you and your wife and here's hoping you two enjoy a great week ahead.

Good morning Kerry. I'm glad to have you as a friend, even if it's only through RUclips 😅. Getting to know you guys, is the best part of this whole thing. I think on next Sunday's video, we will be brewing outside in the rain 🌧 😀. If it is the next video, it will be very relaxing, and definitely a change of pace.
As to the sensor on the scale, already a couple of friends here left me comments in regards. They say that behavior is perfectly normal. What a relief to know that the Laws of Physics are not braking down 😀. I plan to learn a little bit more about it, and I'll talk about it again on another video. That coffee sounds fantastic. Make sure that it's not too dark, or the profile won't work. Also, if the acidity level is too low, again, it won't work too well. You need a light enough roast, or high enough acidity, or both, for it to work good. Try it, and let me know. Have a great weekend my friend. 🤗

Supposedly it's a Medium Roast with a very subtle fruited aspects that have more of an impact on the acidity. Hopefully, it will work well... either way, I'll let you know what I think about it. It may still be a week or two before I open the bag so don't expect to hear anything right away.

As for your scale ,it’s called starstic switch or proximity sensor switch perfectly normal operation.

Wow!! Rene, thank you so much for the info. This is my favorite part of making these videos, I love the engagement in the comments, and everything I learn from you guys. Obviously I know about proximity sensors, as I'm sure you heard me mention it. However, I didn't think this type of switch was that.
Are all touch sensors, proximity sensors?
I think I will talk about this again an another video. Great information, thank you so much. Have a great day my friend.

Omniel, your scale uses a 'Touch Capacitive Sensor,' and this behavior is to be expected. What I appreciate about Acaia is its Bluetooth functionality, which allows you to log or at least monitor your brews through the app on your phone. If you also integrate the Smart Espresso Profiler with your Bianca, you'll be able to gather most of the parameters (except for temperature) and thoroughly analyze your shots. I really like that you are sharing your steps to brew the perfect coffee; this is invaluable information.

Good morning Wojtek. I think you are the one that should be making the videos 😅. You are a lot more knowledgeable than me, and for sure you have more experience. Already someone else left me a comment as to the sensor, and I will definitely try to learn more about it, and bring it up on another video. I never have taken the time to learn how to use the Acaia app, and when I first looked at it, I didn't see any immediate benefit. On the Acaia app, can you switch, or select, the brewing mode? That is the one thing that I looked for in the app, and it's the one thing that I would definitely use. Do you know?
Thank you buddy, and have a great Sunday.

@@OmnielCapote You can use multiple apps with Acaia scale and some of them support the option to specify the brewing method. I will send you more details during the week

Yeah man, got the same scale and the same thing happens. Only in my case, it happens with the timer button instead. Very annoying, starts timing when I don't want it to 🙄

Hello friend, and welcome to the comments. 😅 Nice to know it's not just me. Besides this scale, have you seen this behavior in any other device? I have not seen this happen in any other device, ever!! Thank you for your comment, and have a wonderful day.

@OmnielCapote Thanks for the welcome and great content! Nope, I've not experienced this with any other device. Over sensitivity of the sensor perhaps?

    • @OmnielCapote
      @OmnielCapote  Месяц назад

@jowyong6769 It must be. I imagine that the sensor could be set differently, for different applications. Good to know it's not just me. It is annoying at times, because the scale turns off when you don't want it to. Have a great day my friend.

I have a cheap scale called FUEGO pocket scale and it measures up to my Acaia Lunar in every way. It even has an on/off button on the side. If somebody is on a budget, I recommend it hands down.

Good morning. I also have a cheap Amazon scale that I used for years, and it still works fine. You can see it on some of my older videos. The only thing is that it didn't have any automatic functions. When scales started becoming available with the automatic espresso function, that's when I really got into scales. Does the Fire have an automatic espresso function?
Thank you for your comment buddy, and have a wonderful day.

@@OmnielCapote Yes, both have pour-over and expresso auto modes. Just making the point that a lot of coffee accessories are overpriced and directing the discerning hobbyist in the right direction.

Great stuff. But consider condensing the content a bit and adding chapters. I think you will grow much faster

Thank you my friend, I really appreciate the encouragement. Welcome to the comments, we love having you here. What are chapters 😅? I'm just some dude bro, I'm sorry but I really don't know much about the technical aspects of RUclips 🤷‍♂️. As to the length of the videos, it's funny, but I get just as many comments on keeping the videos long 😅. It would make editing A LOT EASIER though. Next week's video is just under 30 minutes, so we'll see how it does. I gotta learn more as to the technical aspects of RUclips, then maybe my channel will grow a little. I just don't have any time, so I do what I can.
Thank you for watching, for your kind words, and have a wonderful day my friend.

Most definitely! 👍🏾 Chapters is the feature that lets a viewer slide the seeker forward and backward to jump to when a section of the video starts. Like Chapter 1: Intro, Chapter 2: Dialing In, etc.
Either way great videos and setup, my friend.

@therealscifi oh!! I see. Maybe I can take the time to learn that, it sounds like a good feature to add. Thank you.
