I completed the IMC whilst working during my industrial placement year. The content is not extremely difficult to learn and it definitely provides you with a good introduction. If interested in working in the industry I suggest you complete it and add it to your CV
Hello Afzal Hussein, First of all I would like ti thank you for all the Videos you uploaded. Those are relly useful for the new commers of the industry. You explained IMC here. Is it possible to upload one video of the CISI Programs with the detail of career prospects, process of exam, time requirement, pros and cons etc. ?
Top video Afzal! I’m currently studying the CFA but finding the workload quite overwhelming. If I was to change and study the IMC instead, can my CFA knowledge be transferable to the IMC modules? (Put simply are the IMC modules all covered in the CFA curriculum) Many thanks!
First of all thanks a lot for this great video. I am considering doing a IMC or a cfa. You said in the video the IMC is similar to the first level of the cfa. I am in my last year of my bachelor, so I am able to do the first level cfa. What would you recommend, the IMC or the first level cfa in the final year and than the whole cfa after my bachelor?
Hallo @Afzal Hussein , thank you for all your content! Do you think the IMC is a good opportunity for People from Germany? Its not really known in Germany but there are not really alternarives that you could to before graduating Thank you
I'm about concluding my MSc in financial services and I'd like to write IMC in Nov 2020. I'm in Ireland at the moment. I just bought IMC unit 1 material and hoping to write it this November. Do I have a fighting chance to get in into investment banking or private equity in Ireland or the UK since I'm a non- EU national?
Would this be worth doing for someone from a non finance backround,as in do financial institutions tend to take guys with experience from heavy industry , I.e oil & gas blue collar ?
What can I do to help my application stand out for sales and trading / roles in corporate investment banks? I was thinking IMC but this vid has made me rethink. I’m starting a masters in Finance in September and have some time now to take a qualification. No previous work experience in finance. (I will look to find and complete an internship before September) apps for next year will begin June/July time!
so, currently I m pursuing Chartered accountancy, but I want to go for finance career, and I am B.com. So will going for IMC can be useful for me to get into finance industry?
It looks like the IMC is preferred by asset management firms like M&G or Baillie Gifford in the UK as an entry level qualification that deal with institutional clients mostly, whereas the IAD is preferred by wealth management firms like brewin dolphin and rathbones that deal primarily with private clients and provide an investment service. What ive said is only an opinion and you should seek advice from recruiters or hr employees in the financial services sector or asking investment managers if you can make contact with them. Hope that helps.
Studied it, wouldn't recommend. Didn't notice any benefit while trying to break in. Just go straight to L1. Recently passed L1 and IMC was semi useless.
I think it may still be useful for people who don’t have a financial background academically or professionally and is generally seen as a stepping stone toward those people to CFA L1 and beyond.

Please do a video on CFA vs. IMC.
Your video missed a key advantage of doing IMC, in terms of its necessity for FCA approved person status (in conjunction with CFA)

How does that compare with investment advice which is also RDR compliant.
I'm talking with cisi - they do both investment management certificate level 4 and investment advice level 4
Actually I just saw that the cfa investment management is not get compliant - unusual
Can IMC pursued from India?
