Thanks for providing the first video of what a financial advisor actually does. So sick of the videos stating "day in the life of a financial advisor" and then just show themselves waking up and and eating.
Thanks very much, George. Your blend of creativity and knowledge lends itself well to your profession, and I am sure your clients feel lucky to have you as an Advisor. It's fun following you along on your journey through RUclips.
Sir I am studying for ACCA as a first step of shifting from Engineering that I have done earlier. I aim to work as an Accountant/Financial Consultant in independent capacity. Your content really helps. Thank you
Brilliant video thanks George! 👍 it’s great to see some of the day to day stuff and personally I’d love to see more of this sort of thing. Thanks for taking the time to make it despite being so busy. I have recently passed my R01 exam so this content is very well timed. Oh and I drive a hairdressers car as well! 😂👍
😂😂 thanks. Originally this type of content worked well for the YT algorithm. It does not seem to like it now! I will try and walk the line between personal finance, pensions and financial adviser stuff. 👍 Appreciate the support 🙌
Thank you for sharing your experience. It is very useful for people like me who have just obtained the DipFA diploma and want to learn more about the profession. It is interesting that everybody mentions the lack of Financial Advisors and that nearly 50% of the current advisors will retire in the next 5 years. However, it is very difficult to find the right opportunity. It is kind of a contradiction. Do you have any advice on how to get a foot in the industry?
You're welcome. Yes, there is a page on my website which addresses this specifically and provides some resources and FAQs: www.principlespersonalfinance.co.uk/resources-for-financial-planners
Just subbed. I'm really thinking of going into this and just purchased one of the CII courses for a level 4 diploma. Is it typical to start working independently, or would you say it makes sense to start working for a firm? Thanks!
Brilliant loved the video i am currently one of those people that answer the phones and pass financial advisers on 😂 really insightful to watch this as qanting to get into paraplanning and once im ace at that advice
Really helpful video. Currently studying to become a paraplanner. If you could do a more detailed video on that I’d be very grateful. Love your channel and the genuine and helpful content 🙏
The being on the phone to providers is comedy gold! FAR too many delays and ring arounds in this area and we need to push prodivers to digitise LOA's as much as possible
Hi thanks for the interesting video and entertaining content. I have worked in sales for the last 7 years and about to start the R01 with a view to full qualifying. My main aim is to go self employed ASAP. Do you have any other videos on this? Also I can’t gain access to your website to see the resources for financial planners, it’s saying “site is private”. Many thanks :)
Hi Thanks for making the video. Incredibly helpful to someone who's trying to get a feel of what it is like to be a financial advisor! Would you mind sharing your thoughts on non-native English speakers pursuing this career? I like all other aspects of being a financial advisor but do find it require more effort to build a connection with people because of the disadvantage in language and differences in cultural backgrounds etc. Have you seen any successful examples? Many thanks!
This is an outstanding video, really paints a clear picture about what to expect day to day while being down to earth and not taking yourself too seriously. Really, thank you very much. For the qualifications is there someone you recommend for the training online? I'm not the best sit down and read a book person and react much better to audio and videos with a person talking etc
Thank you! Grateful for you watching and your support. I used Expert Pensions for my AF exams who do both study days and video learning. I know the CII do paid training days but I never used them. Hear they were ok (not brilliant, but ok.) I also used Brand FT for some tests which can be useful, unsure if they do face to face. Beyond that, the majority was learning on the job and studying in my own time. I'm sure there are lots of other in-person routes that I will have not mentioned there though. Wish you all the best with your studies.
Hi, thanks for watching. For me I've always wanted to be an independent adviser and I feel some of the restricted larger firms offer more sales-type roles where you are there mainly to plug their funds, which are often quite expensive. So not for me. I do however fully appreciate that many have to start somewhere and there's nothing wrong with these roles. On my website link I address some of the issues in trying to find the right firm which may be very challenging at the start of your journey. All the best, George
First time discovering this channel and look forward to finding some more content 👌 I’m studying for CeMAP and have been wanting to get into financial services for a while. What a great video, it made me smile as I can relate to the providers phone calls.
Thank you 🙌. It's a never-ending struggle!
Wow finally a direct video which isn’t a video of walking and eating also loved the phone part 😂
Thank you! 🙌
That's exactly what I was aiming for as in being helpful and only marginally self-indulgent! 🙃 Appreciate you watching.
Haha! Loved the chasing providers bit, I can relate to this so much. I have the Aviva switchboard song seared into my brain!
🙃 thanks for watching. Yes, I know what you mean on the Aviva switchboard!!

I’m looking to get into the trade.. it’s quite difficult as I’m not a graduate 😢… big firms don’t even bother training you up

Whats the average yearly income from each client?
That question doesn't make any sense. What are you trying to understand?
