I'm a few chapters into the IMC and it shocked me what little understanding I had about the regulatory environment despite being in the final year of an Economics degree. I'm actually enjoying learning these things and it feels relevant and no nonsense. It's great getting your thoughts on this. I wish you and everyone taking this certificate a well deserved qualification at the end of this. 👍
Hahaha, it’s funny because everyone including myself as an Econ Grad expects a level of knowledge the degree doesn’t provide. I guess we understand the basic fundamentals of Economics but to transfer that knowledge into real life is not easy or even applicable. 🤣 Thanks for your kind words and good luck to you too! ☺️
Going through a career change at 32. Studying finance at Uni in October, and currently studying for my IMC now so hoping to have those squared off by September. Also hoping to get into asset management :)
I know people who usually skip the IMC and go straight for the CFA, I know only certain roles like trading etc will require you to have the IMC too ( I can’t remember if it’s just the regulatory exam or both)
@@CarewCulturedependdepends some skip cfa if already have leading masters in finance. Although still take IMC as regulatory exam they need by FSA. CFA is at masters level but not as deep.
Thanks so much for your content. Im currently deciding to have a career change from engineering into asset management. Would you recommend me do the IMC or go straight into the CFA level 1? Thank you!
Was just asked by my HR if I’d like to do this as I have no prior experience in finance or a degree but surprisingly work in the industry. Do you think it’s possible to complete the imc in less than a year ? I really want to get a CFA asap
Some deem the IMC a pre-req to the CFA, some people also skip the IMC and go straight to the CFA.... It all depends on you really and what career trajectory you see yourself having ... I know a senior trader at my previous firm had to do the IMC unit 1 even though they had the CFA to be fully licensed. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond but let me know what you decided to do :)
Great question! Typically, people do the IMC first as it’s seen as a prerequisite requires for the industry and should typically take 1 year. The CFA is a minimum 3 year qualification if you pass everything first time and is usually for people who want to go into something quite specific.
Hey I have a video on this on my channel discussing how I organise my calendar and avoid burnout. Also I will be discussing my exam results soooooon :)

I am studying for the CFA level one exam. Feb 2024. I really am interested in this certification now as well.

Insightful video.... Pls which online learning partner(s) can you recommend.
I'm presently doing self-study
Hey, I use Fitch Learning and they’re amazing! I know people who also use Kaplan. Those are the only two I know of ☺️
@@CarewCulture many thanks
Hey 🙂 How did you get on with the IMC in the end? How long did it take you?
Hey my video coming out this week gives all the details about my IMC journey ☺️ - sorry I’ve taken a bit of a break from the career content
Where has your career taken you since this video?

Will I be able to margin trade on binance with this qualification ?
Hey, good question - Sorry I’m not entirely sure, best to ask Binance that question.
can we do cfa and imc both or what should we do first?

Hi Carew, have you done your IMC exams now????
Hi, I plan to do a video talking about this very soon hahaha - I've been gone for some time now but I'm coming back very soon :)
@@CarewCulture Ok I have tried the Unit one and I failed so I plan to do it again its tough though . Patiently waiting for your video.
How did your exams go? How did you organise your study schedule?

Is it easy to find job after imc?
Having the IMC before applying to job roles will definitely make you stand out! ☺️
