    I followed the measurements but it stuck to the pan (pan was non-stick) and started to turn yellow.
    After kneading I didn't get the year drop consistency.
    I have kept it aside in an airtight box. Not sure how it will turn up after 24 hours.
    Please guide as to what might have gone wrong.

    • @MeNOnlyMe2606
      @MeNOnlyMe2606 2 года назад +3

      I used
      Fevicol
      Steel flat ladle
      Regular pan (not non stick)
      The consistency before cooking was thick and not slimy as you have shown
      It took less than 5 mins to harden and did not leave the sides. You can imagine the painful task of cleaning the vessel thereafter
      Kneaded it until went cold. Added additional tablespoon of oil while kneading with a hope that it make me get a break free texture
      Tear drop didn't come despite kneading for several minutes

    • @SharminsArtForum
      @SharminsArtForum  2 года назад +4

      Sorry to hear that it didn’t turn out right. To fix it:
      Flatten your clay inside an airtight container. Create some depressions on the clay surface using your thumb. Fill up each depressed holes with lotion or glue. Close the container with lid and leave it 24 hours. Afterwards take the clay out and start kneading in order to bring it back to tear drop consistency
      I am not sure what went wrong this time, but in the future be sure keep the temperature low and use a nonstick pan. Try to make a small portion until you get the right consistency. You can always add additional lotion/ vaseline/ white glue to prevent over drying.

      @@SharminsArtForum It helped in smoothening the texture a little.
      I attempted to make Ganesha Idol with it. Any depression I created (example crease mark for dhoti) started to disappear while drying, or the eye socket depth also started to flatten while drying. By tomorrow I hope there will be some of carving left. Is it common for the carvings to flatten during drying phase?

    Hi, thanks for sharing this recipe. I followed directions and measurements, because I didn't have Vaseline I replaced with moisturizer lotion. It cooked good, but I needed to add a lot more flour as I was kneading as it was sticky. Do you think that's the result of not using vasaline ?

    • @SharminsArtForum
      @SharminsArtForum  2 года назад

      Hi, I’m not sure you’re using cornflour or flour. I’ve never used flour, so can’t say anything about it. But I think if you cook a bit longer you don’t need to use too much cornflour for kneading. Using some cornflour while kneading is ok. But using too much cornflour can cause cracking while drying your clay pieces. If you don’t have vaseline, you can use coconut oil instead. And stickiness usually subsides after 24 hours.

      Maybe your clay is over dry. Over dry clay can crack easily while drying. It will be better if you add more glue to make your clay soft. After remake, your clay have to wait overnight to work with it easily.

      @@SharminsArtForum Hi, thanks for your reply, but I solved the problem this morning! I didn't add glue.
