    I made this today and it's very smooth and pliable. Unfortunately, it's not drying. A tiny ball left out all evening is still as pliable as when it was made. Would microwaving it help? I suspect so much oil in the recipe is the cause.

    The ingredient to prevent mold/fungus, now that makes sense. :) It was the one concern I had, as essentially you are still using something akin to flour- cornstarch that is.

    • @minithaabraham
      @minithaabraham  6 месяцев назад

      You can use corn flour or corn starch. Vinegar (or lime) and glycerin act as presevatives and prevent mold growth. After completely dry, give a coat of varnish. Varnish will protect your works from extreme weather conditions, especially mold growth because of humidity.

    I want to make lippan art things so can i use this clay for that too?
    Also can add coconut oil instead of baby oil?
    In One of comments u mentioned wall putty can be added instead of cornflour..so will the final result changes bcz of that?
    Also is there any chance for any flies or somthings bcz of oil n cornflour n all?
    Does this color changes over a period of time?
    Last que ....does this break if it falls down after drying?
    Plz reply to my queries 😅😅

    • @minithaabraham
      @minithaabraham  Год назад +1

      Hello! Hope you are doing well.
      Yes you can make lippan art things using our clay . Any vegetable oil including coconut oil is fine. Clay using cornflour is softer and easier to shape and if wall putty is used, you will make wall putty clay. No flies and insects come regardless of oil and cornflour. Colour generally does not change but low quality colors may change to a very small extent over years if exposed to sunlight. This can be avoided if sealed with varnish. The clay is very durable and does not break easily; but if pieces of clay are glued together the glue can break when force is applied. The items we made with this recipe was tested and did not break nor did the colour change. Best wishes dear! Apologies for the late reply 🤍

I have almost all of this here, tomorrow to get a few more things. May I ask if you have tried this with a texture sheet? I want to do that to create jewelry. Thanks again!

    Thank you so very much for sharing this recipe. I was about to make some ornaments with my grandkids, but the different recipes I have used before have been so unsuccessful. I always use cornstarch and baking soda and have also tried salt dough (they have come out better with salt dough, but still crack after maybe a week ). Is it ok to use cornstarch instead of cornflour? and if I use cornflour do you recommend a specific brand? I know some brands have grains that are thicker and also the color is yellow. I would appreciate your input since we are about to do some Halloween ornaments on the 29th . Thank you so very much once again.

    Not sure where I went wrong, but mine turned out very sticky. I kept putting lotion on my hands while kneading, but after q while it went back to be sticky. I added more flour thinking it maybe was too wet, and it got stickier. Do you know how to prevent from being so sticky?

    • @minithaabraham
      @minithaabraham  2 месяца назад

      I think your dough is under cooked. Microwave wave it 30 second. Knead well. And repeat it one or two times. Over cooking also makes the dough worse. If you over microwaveit may become too tight. Refrigerating it for 24 hours also makes it non sticky with the right level of tightness. While kneading apply vaseline or any oil instead of using lotion.

      Use any vegetable oil if you have no baby oil. Glycerin is good to add if you have. It will increase softnes, prevent cracking and act as a preservative. But You can try without glycerin too. Clay will be good and work well.

      If it is in the correct consistency it may form tear shape(that means you mixed all the ingredients in correct amounts and did not overcook). Your clay might be a little bit overcooked and hence will be a bit dry but will still work just fine. Hope that helps 👍🏼
