I'd forgotten about this beautiful 1970's ballad song by John Denver, it truly is lovely. The 70's truly had some great songs written from hit hard rock songs, duets, disco, soft rock songs and ballads.
Same here I heard the news and as soon as I heard the news I turned on my RUclips and this popped up two amazing Angels!! RIP!!!! My heart hurts!! I truly loved Olivia Newton John and John Denver!! The movie grease was my favorite movie ever I saw it when I was in seventh grade in 1978!!

Out of all the years in music, 1920s jazz, 30s ragtime, 40s big-band, 50s rock n roll, 60s folk, the 1970s were just so magical. It was a decade where rock, soul,R&B, country,pop, were probably all at their best, even disco had its cool moments. Olivia & John were right there in that decade expressing their musical gifts to the world. This song is pure gold and it sounds as good now as it did back then. I just miss those days of bell bottoms, hot summer nights, girls wearing daisy dukes, man oh man was that a fun decade.

I fell in love with this song when it was first released..early 70s I think. I remember hearing it the first time gave me goosebumps and waves of emotions, its a song thats close to my heart. I’m in my 60’s and I’m so thankful. I have lived in the era. That music was worth listening to. John Denver and Olivia Newton John were two of the best artists around. To have the music us baby boomers have experienced. We are truly fortunate! You can’t get music like that anymore and it’s a darn shame too! May Olivia Newton John and John Denver. Be Resting In Heaven’s Sweet Peace forever.

I fell in love with this song when it was first released..early 70s I think. I remember hearing it the first time gave me goosebumps and waves of emotions, its a song thats close to my heart. At the time, I told myself I'm gonna learn to play this beautiful song on the guitar..well I mastered it, I'm self taught, play by ear from a young age ..I'm in my 60s now..so after hearing of Olivia's passing, I picked up the guitar and played this song...along with heartfelt tears..again...it's my all time favourite duet with the late John Denver and the recent passing of Olivia Newton John .2 finest artists whose music has touched many lives..RIP 🇦🇺❤️💜🧡🎶

I actually remember watching this John Denver Christmas special in 1976. I loved this performance by John and Olivia then, and still do. What amazing background vocals by Olivia! Absolutely beautiful!!

How this Duet never went No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart at anytime in the Winter 1976 is criminal. It was certainly much better than other songs that peaked higher in the U.S. January and February 1976.
OMG i was so young when this song was popular and remembering listening to her background vocals in a clothing store while my Mother shopped and I thought back then how beautiful her voice was and still to this day I feel the same. RIP Oliva and John!

2 deaths in 5 days, both wonderful singers from Australia, Judith Durham, from the "seekers",now Olivia, what a shame, both dying from long illnesses. We will miss them both greatly.

I was in love with Olivia in my youth. I will miss her forever. Also I miss John, he died too early. I love to sing his songs by guitar on a campfire. Rest in Peace my old friends, may your music never die!
