He’s the best WR I’ve ever seen with my two eyes. Not the greatest, but the best, I mean he was a virtually perfect WR.
Nah Randy moss was
@@tracewood5027 There's always gotta be someone like you that replies. This dude literally gave his subjective opinion and you're like "nahh"
@@tracewood5027 not really megatron just as good hands, bigger, stronger, and maybe even faster
@@tracewood5027 No they were about the same ... Moss had Carter and Reed. Megatron had no one ... both player played over the top but you never knew who the ball was going too at the Vikings ...
@@eliyelabera8774 bigger and stronger than Moss but faster is a reach. Moss ran a legit 4.2.
10 years. Wow. I remember this game vividly. Crazy how were prisoners of the moment at times. Wish we could of got Calvin a playoff win
Megaton was a real life example of what you got when you made every stat 99 in Create a Player in Madden.
Soon that'll be DK Metcalf. Guys that big and talented at receiver is a cheat code!
I coulda locked him up
@@LembeckIsStayingDK is 2-3 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter and yet still ran slower 40
Pierre Thomas was such an underrated gem in that Saints Offense. Watching him break tackles like he does at 7:20 was something Saints fans saw every gameday, but he never really got the praise that he deserved from any outside media.
I’m glad someone pointed this out , I said this back in 09 when they got the title.
He always seemed to play 10 times better in the playoffs, too.
He went to high school in my hometown, went to a Pierre Thomas camp when I was around 5th grade. A real, genuine guy from what I remember and signed autographs for everyone there no problem. Made you feel like he cared about you cause he actually did. Best part is my t-shirt still fits me (in my early 20s) and the autograph is still there after years of washes. Still rock it to this day
Sorry to bring this up but I’m a 9er fan & all I remember is when Donte Whitner lit him up right before he got into the end zone lol
@@808mitch Yep that hit set the tone for the whole game lol
Megatron makes the defenders look like they're playing in Pop Warner
MEGATRON deserved better. Miss watching him play.
Stop crying, just cus he didn't win don't mean he deserve better, losses come with the game two teams cant take a W
Same with Stanford
@@kalibaking877 I'm definitely pulling for Stafford and Rams this year. 1st time I'll ever be following another team besides the Lions in my 25 years of life😂😂.
@@rockop3327 Bruh STFU HE IS AN ALLTIME GREAT. IF HE WAS IN A BETTER SITUATION HE WOULD'VE NOT ONLY HAVE WON MORE BUT PLAYED LONGER...AND IM SPECIFICALLY SPEAKING ON WHEN HE WANTED OUT TOWARDS THE END LIONS SHOULD'VE TRADED OR RELEASED HIM. INSTEAD FORCED HIM INTO RETIREMENT.
@@DetroitMade He's a loser lol
Quite a remarkable turnaround for the Lions. From 0-16 in 2008 to the playoffs in 2011.
Megatron Deserves a playoff win
No he dont,
Unfortunately he played for Detroit his entire career
@@ghostintheshell3576 He would have never won anywhere else either.
@@rockop3327 imagine hatin on what could have been the greatest receiver of all time if he had been ANYWHERE other than Detroit... Barry Sanders effect
@@ReezyR If he was the greatest they would have won with him,
Sad that Megatron never had a win in the playoffs thanks to him playing for the Lions.
You can thank Matt Millen for screwing it all up. 13 years since Millen was fired and the Lions are STILL trying to recover from that mess.
@NorthStars the Steagle Dan Campbell won't let that happen.
@NorthStars the Steagle Me too. Campbell is a great hire. I like his attitude and the way how he's talking about the team. He's exactly what the Lions need. Not a Lions fan personally, but I hope I am right too.
well he signed the extension though? Wonder why such talented players don't try and sign with a different team at one point.
Yeah should've went to the Browns so he could've won a playoff game.
What's crazy is this is the 2nd best Lions playoff performance in that 6-year span of semi-relevance behind the 2014 heartbreaker vs Dallas. Offensively, the Lions were never this potent again. Which is sad, this 2011 squad on offense was so exciting, fun to watch, and came out of nowhere, their defense just sucked real bad, especially down the stretch.
Offense was never the same after Jahvid Best went down. He was known as the most dangerous Lion on offense. Then became an Olympic sprinter after his NFL career
Also stafford never had another year even close to his 2011 production, he got all conservative after megatron retired, turned into a check down machine
Do you see us now though?!
@NiggasForTrump2024- OH I sure do and I'm super hype to see this team actually compete for once. However I need to see them get elusive playoff win before I fully buy in
@@samurainugget4191 yea looking forward to what we do with Baltimore. Were blowing through the Panthers right now
2011 Saints have statistically the most all purpose yards in a single season
7,434 yards. 2nd closest is 2013 Broncos with 7,317.
Just to lose the next game.
@@nflprods4010 ok?
@@williamemerson3249 Just saying William.
@@nflprods4010 Really wasn’t his fault. This was one of those seasons where it showed yet again how spotty his defenses were that he played with. They didn’t get better until he was well past his prime
@@ladarriusjennings8914 Detroit's defense is still shitty regardless of who is and was QB.
Keep in mind that New Orleans went 13-3 that season (like 2019 with both seasons as the #3 seed in the playoffs) the top seeds GB (2011- 2nd 2019) SF (2019- 2nd 2011) both years
Giants, Bengals, Lions and Texans made the playoffs this year. Who knows when these teams make it back
Giant's will be back soonest amongst them
Crazy
Maybe joe burrow and the bengals could be there in the near future I’m not saying when but soon
@@brantonburns7650 not even so much on him he just needs better o line protection
@@thebrotasticbro9465 true but if they make the right draft picks that need to happen than yeah they will definitely make the playoffs soon all depends on who they decide to choose in the upcoming nfl drafts
That was his 3rd 200-yard performance in the previous four games
Love the upload!! Playoff games are the most memorable ones!!
Stafford been in the league that Long? Wow time flies
Pierre Thomas oh my god what a back as underrated as it got never ever went down on the first tackle attempt. Just an amazing player in this offense
2011 had to be one of the greatest NFL seasons I’ve experienced
I hadn’t started watching yet, but I’m sure it was a good season, up until the afc championship game when we lost to New England
@@thatguynamedluke7207 I was pissed NY beat NE in the Super Bowl again.
Unless you're an Eagles fan
Nahh It was the year of "no defense". Felt like I was watching college.
@@pbskids4000 Except for my team of course
13:53 That was not a first down, the ball didn't even cross the 1st down mark.
Welcome to watching the Lions.
12 catches 200+ yards and 2tds..and we lose..smh
Darren sproles the Alvin kamara before Alvin kamara
Watching this game man iam a Panthers fan, but gahh dang drew brees was so accurate. I forgot just in a year without him playing how precise he was. You got wonder if these guys after they retire watch these old games too. The classics they were apart of. I have to imagine it gets the juices going and they wanna play again.
“The future looks bright in Mo-Town” yeah about that…
I thought fairley and suh would be the next Jerome brown and Reggie white type combination
My first NFL season I watched in full. It was glorious
Megatron is truly the greatest WR I have ever seen best WR my generation has ever seen he was truly a real life created madden player
Isn't this the game Nate Burleson had offensive pass interference on like three straight plays? I vaguely remember something like that happening.
Megatron deserved so much better.
Man I miss that Saints offense. But as good as they were, the defense is what really kept the Saints from advancing any further in 2011. Pretty much the story all throughout Brees’s Saints career.
Yup. Between ridiculously piss poor defenses, idiot no call refs and a Minnesota Miracle… poor Brees only went to one SB. Let’s be honest here, the no call in the NFC championship against the Rams cost them the game and possibly a 2nd SB championship. Disgusting! Then the Rams score 3 freaking points with that unearned trip. I guaranDAMNtee you that the Saints would have scored more than 13 in that game.
''future looks pretty bright in motown'' lol
That and the Saints' SB window (since 2011) sure did age like milk.
It’s such a shame to see how much talent the Detroit Lions have wasted over the years. First Barry and then Calvin…
Wishing Stafford the best though!
I'm so glad Stafford is out of Detroit
Thats not fully true. One's in the Hall of Fame and the other will be there soon.
And Matthew Stafford might win a Super Bowl because he is currently on the Rams.
Lmao no
@@Izboy112 ay he made it man. Stafford made it
0:39 Wow I didn't realize Stafford was the first player in history.
My saints really been the laughin stock/punching ball of the league this whole decade in the playoffs wit hurtful losses on top of hurtful losses but beatin the one man wrecking crew Megatron goin against our Swiss cheese defense was at least a bit satisfying
Don't worry the Saints are going to have the last laugh. ;)

45 POINTS YES THIS IS THE REASON HE HASN'T WON A PLAYOFF GAME
Gave up a post season record for yards in a game too… yet Stafford is to blame lol
Miss watching Calvin Johnson play. Congrats on the hall of fame Megatron.
Al: “The future looks bright in Motown.”
Narrator: But it was not.
Yep. They would crash back to Earth the next year.
people forget about brees being the all time leader of 5.000 yard seasons
Everyone: blames Stafford for the lack of lions Playoff success
Lions Defense: gives up the most yards in playoff history
Do we sense what the real problem is?
& giving up 45 points… I don’t think Stafford’s the issue
@@bettercallsaul1777 exactly, lazy people just blame the QB for everything cause thats easy to do instead of realizing that it's a team game
Titus Young was going to be so good, it’s sad he went crazy
NFL throwback, can you make a video about the 07 giants
That 2011 Saints offense was the best they ever had imo. Had them down for a SB spot. Anyway, that Detroit was able to keep this game competitive is a real credit to Johnson and the rest of the team.
Back when Football was Good 🏈🏟
That Miami Heat alarm after the touch down
It's clear which side of the ball was responsible for the Lions' playoff failures in the 2010s. That defense was horrendous.
This man Megatron STILL should slide back for one more season with like Mahomes or Rodgers 😭😭😭😭 mans be havin me sad for him lol
Why would he come back just to lose in the NFC championship game?
Why would Megatron play with a choker like Covid Toe Immunized Rodgers? lol
i cant think of another franchise with 2 HoFers so disappointed in the organization that they'd rather retire early than keep playing for the team.
Ya similar careers
Barry retired from a playoff team. Totally different than Megatron retiring after Jim Fraudwell being a disappointment
@@notsauer ya but there was a higher ceiling with Stafford at qb than Scott Mitchell and the packers still had a young favre and the vikings came off a 15 and 1 season
2011 was the peak year for nfl passing, there was the most passing yards by far more than any other year
NFL Throwback Can you please post 1991 NFC championship game Lions vs Washington?
Stafford got a lot of flack in Detroit for not winning a playoff game. Kind of hard when the defense gives up 700 yards
Looking back at it lions had a chance to make championship squad they had suh stafford and Johnson they just needed more defense and maybe some more offense
I miss the intro music. I miss the hype. I miss Sunday’s with the boys. Please football season hurry up I’m begging you
I AM A HUGE DETROIT LIONS FAN
Holy shit Titus Young 😳 what a disastrous pick that was
The absolute turning point in this game is at 10:40 in the 4th quarter. If Aaron Berry doesn’t drop that gimme interception, the Lions probably win. A crappy backup pressed into service from injuries, he torched Calvin’s best chance for post season run w/ his hot buttered hands🤦♂️
And now Stafford is a Super Bowl champion with the Rams
I'm not saying hes the goat but hes the best receiver I was able to watch I didn't watch moss are Owen's are rice but I did with megatron
9 Years Ago
John Kasay might be the last kicker I've seen who uses the old-fashioned form, in other words, running at the ball straight on instead of from an angle like most modern kickers.
Detroit Lions member of NFC Central Division and New Orleans Saints member of NFC West Division from the 70s 80s and early 90s 🏈
It’s still a shame that Megatron didn’t ring chase bc nobody would blame him if he joined a SB contender.
What a shock, Lions D letting down Stafford again
the lions secondary ruined what could've been an amazing playoff matchup
Detroit needs a Stafford statue, that man gave his youth and some absolute excellent football to the team and got shit in return. Glad he in LA now, hope he gets ring
That fumble would have been a touchdown...21-0 reminds me of Dallas playoff game when pedagrew got tackled trying to catch ball...and flag was overturned...lions could have won both games...lions got hammered by officials in both games
Ot would have made the score 21-7, not 21-0. The Saints could easily have come back from that. Do your research first
This is also the Lions first playoff appearance since 1999.
When will the Lions win a playoff game or a Super Bowl!? I’m tired of waiting!!!
In 100000000000000000000000000 years.
I’m predicting the year 2641.
@@BisonGaming3334 haaaa ???....😄😅🤣
Can Matt lead the Rams to the Super Bowl?🤔🍻🍺
He did & won
Lions defense dropped at minimum 3ints smh and the only rushing play shown is the stafford rush TD that's crazy
You already know the winner when you watch a Matthew Stafford playoff game...The BIG 0
The Lions defense missed several opportunities to create turnovers (one a blown call) and that did them in. Saints offense, especially that year, wasn't going to give you many chances to stay in the game.
Detroit had multiple times to get at least 2 field goals on turnover drives this team was awesome just could never capitalize on turnovers
Stafford is a baller n I came here for proof!
Titus Young would’ve been HOF
"Passingest" ,😂😂😂
What happened to the Lions defense in the 4th qtr???? 😆
On that night Megatron became Galvatron and almost single handedly beat the Saints.
Any team that had Stafford, Johnson and Suh and couldn't even GET to a super bowl shows the ineptitude of that ownership
Suh won two playoff games in nola (one was u no wut in the nfccg) New Orleans should of won both those games had not sean payton getting cute with play calling.
They were a victim of the rookie contract wages of the time. Stafford/Megatron/Suh made 70% of the cap.
Then the following year they limited what rookies could make. So the Lions just got screwed as everyone else got cheap talent.
Poor Megatrout 🎻
Lions are 13-3 right now with no superstars 😎
Stafford will get his due soon with the rams !
Im 40 year's old now and ive never seen the Detroit lions a functional team. They got so many penalties in this game
If I see the lions in the playoffs. I know they’re gonna lose
If they ruled that fumble a live play Lions would’ve probably won.
Nah Drew’s a rally back master
How? The 2011 Saints were great at stealing momentum. The Saints still would have won
This is a painful reminder of how bad our O-Line has been for as long as I remember, and also how terrible our defense was. They looked like complete ass.
Calvin Johnson is one of the greatest wide receivers Detroit lakes ever had.he should have won a Superbowl title
That’s Detroit management for you I pray they don’t get another CJ81 or Barry not a hate thing it’s just they never do shit with them there talent is always wasted
Detroit did Stafford and Calvin no justice. They had plenty of time to build a defense and running game for that team, but management and coaching failed them
Too bad Megatron wasn’t able to win a super bowl. Lions wasted his talent. 🤦♂️
His and Barry Sanders'. Horrible that so much talent was wasted by the Lions ownership
@@ryanstatt9910 in both cases lousy QB.

Guess it was a loyalty thing, like Fitzgerald with the Cards
at this point he was still on his roolie contract and also around that time the Lions were actually semi relevant
Left football to become a dancer😒😙😗😂😂
This was the only time that the lions made the playoffs in the Stafford-Megatron era
No they made the playoffs in 2014-15
2014 season.
Last year of Stafford-Megatron-Suh era.
Bro wtf why couldn’t they tackle Pierre Thomas
Weird title the Saints beat the breaks off them in this game
Why is Calvin johnson called the megatron
Roy Williams gave him that name.
14:05 such a terrible spot. That was not a first down
Lions didn't deserve megatron or Barry Sanders
Yeah and I feel they barely deserved Stafford
@@wattlol facts they wasted a decade of his career
19:03 Brees can't step up into the throw and gets hit at release. That ball HAS to be picked off by the defense. That's not a la-di-da oh well at least it was incomplete. No, that ball is floating in the air and u stop them from scoring ANY points. Not a fan of either team really but u can't give Brees extra chances for no reason. That's like committing an error in baseball that gives up the winning run. Professional defender. U have to catch it. Period. Lion's gonna Lion's
The Lions we’re competitive?????
No one was beating the Saints in the dome that year, not even the Giants
Somehow this is Stafford’s fault…
I’ll never forget how the refs cheated the lions this game when they called back that defensive TD late in the game
Dude, the Saints could have still very easily rallied if they didn't blow it dead
