Happy to hear! I ordered one about a year and a half ago. It didn't make it probably due to many reasons that were my fault. I decided I was ready to try again and ordered a few. They get here Monday. Your video was really helpful, and I feel more prepared to care for them now!
Yeah the can be finicky. The main this is to use acidic soil, only water with rain water or spring water, and don’t over water. Other than that they are pretty easy keepers. I’m glad the video helped and I wish you the best of luck! Where did you order your plants from?
I just bought a miracle berry tree from a nursery in Florida and had it shipped to my home in Texas. I paid extra and got one that is already about 4 feet tall. I didn't want to plant my own and wait 2 years for fruit. It arrived to me with flowers already present. I've had it about 3-4 weeks now and i'm starting to see fruit! I'm curious how long the fruit takes to progress to maturity. I'm hoping the birds stay away once the fruit starts turning red. They decimated my habanero peppers when the fruit became visible as it changed from green to orange.
Crypto Man not entirely sure (mine has not fruited yet) the best thing I can tell you is you can buy bird netting (light weight poly net) at tractor supply. If i were concerned about birds I would get some fencing or lumber and construct a net covering box to place over it. The holes are big enough for pollinators but will keep the birds out
I saw a plant at my parents house and it has been sitting here for almost 4 years then I accidentally found your video while searching for miracle fruit propagation. I notice that your plant has the same as the one plant near our terrace. Just to make sure, I downloaded an app that identifies the plant. So the plant that has been sitting in a pot for years is really a miracle berry. I went and asked my mom... She said it was given by my sister in law... Anyways, just want to ask how to propagate this plant using the stem? I am a newbie in gardening do you have some idea on that. I'll be posting it on my channel. Thank you in advance.

It looks like they stopped offering it. Logees nursery sells them by they are currently back ordered. May just have to keep looking around for one. The scientific name is Synsepalum dulcificum is that helps.
Who said it is the Europeans who discovered it? it a fruit that we eat here in Ghana and Africa, normally that’s what we use instead of sugar from ages
I specifically said in the video that is has long been used by the people of west Africa but was not discovered by Europeans until the 1700’s. Meaning that it was not officially recorded by or known to Europeans outside of its native region until that time. In no way did I say that Europeans were the ones that first discovered it
If the plant requires little or no fertilizer, simply put the point across but in west Africa we have one of the best soil for agriculture in the world Also how can Europeans discover something that the natives have used for centuries!
Well at no point did I say the soil in all of west Africa is poor. I said in the beginning these are native to west African and later on that these prefer a high acid and lower nutrients soil (which is found in the high rainfall areas in the southern part of West Africa due to the soil type and high rainfall) If I touched on all 20+ soil types found in West Africa this video would be over an hour long and isn’t the point anyways. And I said in the video if you watch that these have long been used by the native people. They just weren’t known to Europeans until the 1700’s. Appreciate you watching and for the comment but I can’t include every detail or variation I’m only have so much time in a video 🤷🏼♂️ I just always try my best lol
I dig the video EXCEPT...you are encouraging the use of peat moss which is dug out of peat bogs that hold more carbon dioxide than the entire South American tropical jungle. The carbon dioxide is released back into the environment with every bit of peat moss that is removed from the earth and helps to raise the global temperature. It is also not a sustainable substrate. Gardening should be something that enhances the environment, not something that destroys it.
Very disappointing. The tile implies a lot that is not delivered. While this is a decent video on the transplant process in general, it provides almost no useful info on the day to day care of, nor how to start Miracle Berry plants. You should alter the title to "How to transplant Miracle Berry plants".
Mark Carney start at 8:37 in the video for day to day care tips that I use. As far as starting them you either have to buy the tree already started from a nursery or from fresh fruit which can be hard to find. I suggest purchasing a started tree. Got mine from Aloha Tropicals which has a great site.
You can always give it a try. You will have better odds of success with seeds freshly removed from the fruit but you might be alright with the seeds you have. I have not done much research on the length of seed viability in miracle fruit, but generally with tropical fruits fresher is better.
How much water amount do this plant need.mine is 3 years old in a large pot which is enough to grow a coconut but it never fruit.its blooming like hell but dried before its fruits.
Before starting loosening roots (5:50) it's a good idea to water the root ball, it will be easier to separate them.

@@TheMoreYouGrow right now I love In Thailand right now and there is a rainy season upcoming in a couple of weeks. There will be heavy rain for at least a week straigjt and then I might come and go, but should I leave my plant outside when it's pouring or should I bring it in after like 20 min?
It's a very very slow growing plant. It's a superfruit I believe.
can i please get info on were to buye a few of these trees
I get most of my tropical plants, including these, from alohatropicals.com, but It looks like they don’t have miracle fruit anymore. You can also get them from Logee’s greenhouse too. www.logees.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Miracle
My beautiful Miracle Berry got lost in the shuffle when bringing everything in before an impromptu cold wave. I found it mostly shriveled and extremely dry. I am devastated. I sunk it in a bucket of water for a good soak for a few hours. The main stems are still green and pliable so, I’m hoping for the best. Its 4 years old in a 3 gallon pot. It’s sitting among the lemon and orange trees under the plant lights for the winter.
Sadly, the same thing happened to mine this year, totally defoliated. Did yours recover?
What about well water? Thanks
They need acidic water. The ph would be off.
How long does it takes from seed to first berries?
about 2 years. 1.5 years with fertilizer
i personally never had bad experiences with tap water. I prefer saving my ro water for my carnivorous plants.
Wht low temperature bro it can tolerate? I am from cold climate region of where temperature goes upto -6° can I grow this or buy??
Plz bro ans me.
They generally do not do well below 45-50° F. You can still grow them where you live but you will have to bring the tree inside or into a protected area like a garage that stays above 50° when temperatures get too cold outside
@@TheMoreYouGrow thank sir
Being human i got 4 small plants 5inches each from ghana, i am in paris and its cold here, i kept 1 inside in warm humid place and 3 outside in the cold , plant which was inside lost all its leaves and probably its dead, while those out are happy and 2 of them are getting new leaves, the third one outside is having its leaves turning brown slowly slowly, no idea what is going on, any suggestions plz? Thx
Se podrá reproducir por acodo aéreo?
Yes it can
Is there a place that would ship and/or sell to canada? I cant find these in any nurseries around here
Maybe try Aloha Tropicals. They are in California and where I got mine from
I’ll have cuttings in a few years haha
Yes, Ghana west Africa
I have small wonder berry I put on our patio not getting any sun the news are yellow should put in the sun I don't want it to die help please we live in south California
The More You Grow
I live in minnesota a cold cold place
That those plants couldnt live in without a green house.
could you grow them inside? Because i would really like to not build a greenhouse for it?
SammyCatman they can be grown inside just fine as long as you have window with good to decent sun. They do not require a greenhouse though. Mine is currently sitting in the garage at 50 degrees and doing fine.
@@TheMoreYouGrow Wow the fact that you responded to me in the same day really shows your respect to the viewers
Thank you. :)
Haha I don’t always but I try to keep caught up where I can
How is plant doing??
It’s doing great right now. It’s hanging out in my garage with the other tropical until spring rolls around so for now it’s not growing a lot but it’s still doing fine 😁
I ordered from Miracle Fruit Farms in Florida. Have ordered from them in the past and they were prompt and plants were healthy
They don't seem to carry miracle berry anymore at that link, sadly.
What will happen if the plant was cutted in half?will it still grow?
I would not recommend cutting it in half
I've had my tree for a year now, and it has progressively gotten worse and worse. I could really use some help.
What fert do you use?
I just use a balanced fertilizer for acid loving plants. Got mine down at our local Walmart
The More You Grow do you think coffee grounds will be a good fert?
Don Arciaga I wouldn’t see why not. Will add nitrogen and help adjust pH for the acidity. Just remember everything in moderation! 😁
Did you ever get the berries to grow??
how can I get this can anyone help me. bcus my mom servive the cancer decises
Can I use cocopeat instead?
Yes, but I don’t know what the pH is of cocopeat if it will give you the acidity the plants need that the peat will
Where can i. Buy a seed of miracle fruit?
ebay but beware of scammers
How the beans of medical berries l have the beans
Can u let me know what's wrong my Miracle please !
Can't send the pictures to u 😔
Can send it on my Instagram @moreyougrow
WHat fertilizer do you use weekly/biweekly?
dont. 4:00 plant does not like fertilizer
@@jw840 that is a lie. Miracle berry does like fertlizer.
The holes are big enough for pollinators but will keep the birds out
@@TheMoreYouGrow Great idea! Thanks for the info. We've got a Tractor Supply close to home. I'll give it a try.
I don’t have much experience starting them from cuttings. I know you can but have never done it myself. Good luck!
I shoulda watched this before I bought one! Arizona has no rain and 100+ temps no way I can afford special water :(
Undercover Gardener just spring water or dechlorinated water works fine for the most part unless you have a lot of calcium in your water.
If you leave a bucket of tap water in the sun for a day, the chlorine goes away by the next day as well. Then you should be able to use it.
Thought this was guy from Cody'sLab, er Cody.
Haha I wish I had his subscriber numbers 😂
Lol same
What type of container do you recommend for the miracle plant. Ex plastic, wood, etc?
I go with plastic. It doesn’t dry out the soil as bad and just generally a less expensive option
@@TheMoreYouGrow , thank you
miracle berry originated from Ghana West Africa, even in Ghana it’s grown by itself
Yes as I stated in the video 😁
If you want to know more about medicinal herbs and fruit please come to Ghana, you will see more than this, and it will amaze you thank you once again
@@fredericakitisu5417 absolutely I love that there are so many that are not widely know that can have great potential. Why it’s so important to conserve species for we do not know what we will need or what will save us in the future. Thank you for watching 😁
@@TheMoreYouGrow yes you are right, I will be glad for you to make it to Ghana one and you will see with your eyes, there’s another one more sweeter than miracle berry it has 3000 sugar content
So it was used by the locals in Africa, but was discovered by Europeans. Wasn't it already discovered by the locals??
Yes discovered by locals but meaning our first confirmed historical record of its use from European exploration
Now i know my plant did not grow...
Couldn't find the plant through the link..
Is it listed under another name??
It looks like they stopped offering it. Logees nursery sells them by they are currently back ordered. May just have to keep looking around for one. The scientific name is Synsepalum dulcificum is that helps.
sounds like this plant requires similar soil/treatment like carnivorous plants.
almost.
In no way did I say that Europeans were the ones that first discovered it
All fine but ... peat moss is EVIL !
If the plant requires little or no fertilizer, simply put the point across but in west Africa we have one of the best soil for agriculture in the world
Also how can Europeans discover something that the natives have used for centuries!
@@TheMoreYouGrow Fair enough. Do you have to have fresh fruit to plant from? I have acquired some seeds and would like to learn how to grow from seed.
You can always give it a try. You will have better odds of success with seeds freshly removed from the fruit but you might be alright with the seeds you have. I have not done much research on the length of seed viability in miracle fruit, but generally with tropical fruits fresher is better.
Video starts at 8:37 for daily care
How much water amount do this plant need.mine is 3 years old in a large pot which is enough to grow a coconut but it never fruit.its blooming like hell but dried before its fruits.
