    The first car rented was the exact model of Jeff’s.
    Also the two trips to Tallahassee were on the exact weekends Jeff was out of town.
    Her friend and her both mentioned Jeff as a possible person.

      And people wonder why he came across a little salty. This could have ruined his life, Or definitely complicated it tremendously if he had still been in town. Innocent people sit in jail all the time, and even get guilty verdict. He literally and figuratively dodged a bullet. He is way too good for Wendi and the Adelsons.

    Given Katie’s testimony and VERY poor decision making skills, my main takeaway is that she is not NEARLY smart or clever enough to be this criminal mastermind that the defense is trying to paint her as. Maybe that was the state’s idea for putting her on the stand and why they didn’t care if she constantly impeached herself

    I was the foreman on a murder trial once. And the first thing we asked before we discussed each witness was, are they credible and if not, why would they lie? I would ask the same here, Lacasse has no reason to lie, he has no dog in the fight. He isn't a known liar. He isn't a drug addict. He's a professor with a reputation to protect.

      @jasonlisowski1 why? I am leaning towards her knowing about it. There are 2 things I can't get passed with her. 1. She drove down to the street Dan lived on. Says the street was taped off and saw all the cop cars. She said she turned around and didn't think anything about it. Her kids were with Dan. Her kids were in his custody at the time. I don't know anyone who would have not asked what was going on or would plow through a football team to make sure their kids were ok, or called the school to check that they were there. 2. In her police interview, she never once asked about her kids and if they were ok. The officer brough it up late in the interview. I think it was because she already knew they were not home at the time of the murder.

I’d say he’s right about them trying to frame him for the murder of DM. You’re forgetting that this Charlie Adelson we are talking about; the same guy who claims someone murdered his brother in law, halfway across the state, and then blackmailed him for over two years and yet even though they were in custody for said murder, CA never came forward to testify against them or even talk to the police regarding said murder? I mean these are people who come up with outlandish $h!+ to justify themselves. Not to mention murder to get their way. I’ve watched each of them (Wendi, Jeff, June, etc.) several times each and a lot of this back and forth speculating could be resolved with them. I agree. The defense attorney's cross examination of Katie Magbanua was weak. He should have locked in her testimony by deposing her prior to trial. Then he could have effectively cross examined her and come on strong when her answer in court differed from her answer in the deposition. He didn't depose her, and he ended up looking like he was having a childish tantrum in court. Not a good look. He also asked questions in such a way that he was basically planting Charlie Adelson's narrative instead of genuinely questioning her.

    Peter, Peter, Peter (lol)... I absolutely find it credible that he would be a little scared for his life... Not because he thinks these people go around putting hits out on people willy nilly, but because he has information that could add "puzzle pieces" to this specific crime that could help get them convicted. They have already shown they are willing to kill one person - so of course it'd go through your mind that they could potentially kill someone else to shut them up. I think I would be scared, too. 😮

    Lacasse is Credible witness but most believable in early police interviews. He "chewed the bone" of his interactions with Wendy/murder attempt/timelines and got to a place where he felt nearly set up. He believes his logic about possible set up, but it presents as fear based not factual. Better had the tapes of interviews been played for jury, all this verbal rehashing of who said what to who on what date is TEDIOUS easily done with tapes of interviews.

    Wow, so many twists and turns in this trial is so confusing and so sad for the victim and his family in the manner which he was killed, and his kids left without a father, and it all happened because she wanted to take the kids away from the father and now she got a chance to do it. I mean she benefited from his death because she has the kids with her now she was able to relocate And have her kids with her, that poor man lost his life her and her family benefit a great deal from his death justice for him and his family, may he rest in peace 😢💔💐 my deepest condolences to his family and friends

    I think the reason Katie rejected immunity was because Sigfredo was under threat of receiving the death sentence at the time she was required to testify. She felt like she was contributing to his death by admitting guilt and flipping on the both of them. At least this is what she stated in prior trial(s). She said that she did not take immunity because she would have to give up Sigfredo,not because she was being loyal to Charlie. She stated that in order to testify against Charlie she would have to give up Sigfredo.

    Maybe I'm a minority but I did like her this time. I think she didn't take immunity because she wanted to be aquitted and keep sugar daddy aka the dentist forever but now that she was convicted, it's not fair Charlie is at large so why not tell the truth. I don't really know her upbringing but I think she has survived through lying on a whim her whole life. I found her demeanor in this trial totally different from the previous trials. I believe her 90% this time. P.S. this defense lawyer is so unlikable though.

    • @deb_diaries
      @deb_diaries 10 месяцев назад +2

      I, too, liked Katie on the stand this time. I think she scored some points for the prosecution. The defense attorney made a big deal about Katie lying in the past, and I don't think this was a very effective strategy. Are any of us shocked that a person arrested for committing murder would lie in an attempt to get out of trouble? Uh, no. If anything, I think Katie should have leaned harder into the whole "I am a Liar" theme. I don't know her motive for finally telling some of the truth, but I would have respected a solid, "I am finally telling what really happened because Charlie set this murder up. No way is he going to go free when I am serving a life sentence for doing the exact same thing!". That would have had the ring of truth.. Yes, the defense attorney would have skewered Katie for saying that, but I think the jurors would have found it to be a very credible answer. It definitely would have been a Perry Mason moment in the court room.

    Now that we know the outcome of this case, except for what happens to Wendi, from the start of listening to this case I have believed this guy and I have been completely blown away that Wendi probably scared the crap out of him confiding in him at the very end of their relationship. I’m very suspicious at this point and have wondered what Wendi’s motives were by revealing such a horrific story and sharing it with him! She’s messed up and that kind of information would have created such fear and make him wonder IF he is safe. I have tons of compassion for him, just watching him squirm in his seat it’s so easy to see that he is Still traumatized by that whole experience.
