  • This is Walkabout Mini Golf, a made for VR physics based mini golf game that perfectly recreates the simple fun of the game and the joy of playing with others young and old. Guys I have had this game for a few years on both PC and Quest and have begging the developer to bring this to PSVR, as it is easily one of my favorite VR games of all time. You might find that hard to believe, but stick around and I’ll tell you why you need this game.
    NOTE - Paid DLC IS NOT included in the base version of the game but must also be purchased separately

      Is it worth it to buy the bundle instead of the base game?
      The base game it looks like it's going to be $15 and the hole in one all dlc is going to be $35.
      But later if I wanted all the dlc it would be $55 in total instead of the cheaper $35 at the start.
      I wish it had a demo

      @@MrCaptainBubbles I recently played with a friend and was surprised how much I loved exploring the environments. The game itself has a lot of variety in terms of difficulty so there’s a lot of replayability here. They also crammed in so many cute of interesting things to discover off the putting greens, it’s not a flat/barren world. There’s literally going to be times I just explore and enjoy the scenery and music without playing. I’d say go all in if any of that sounds moderately interesting.

      I jumped right in! It was on impulse kind of.
      I can't even play it until after I get off work so after 6pm today.
      But, I saw it in the shop and based on all the reactions it is getting from people, I hope it lives up to the hype.
      Also on another note not related at all. I just played chivalry 2 because it's free with playstation plus and it is a blast! I was not even going to download it but because of what people have said about it, and it lived up to the hype... so banking on that a little too.

You’ll have many hole in ones or crazy long putts that you’ll want to have. And I’d love the ability to play 2 or more of my players on a course when alone to make it more exciting.

    I hear many people talking about losing the tracking. I thought people were crazy until I started getting that problem too.
    Then i realized it happened when I was using a pistol with 2 hands on Re8 and pistol whip.
    The problem Is that since the tracking rings are on your wrists, you end up covering them with your off hand or with the other controller.
    Ever since I realized that, i haven't lost tracking once. Looks like minigolf will be on that will cause lots of tracking issues because people will grab the controller with their off hand while using 1 controller simulating the holding if a golf club with both hands, covering the tracking. Just grab your wrist instead.

    • @VRGRID
      @VRGRID  Год назад

      Nope, you actually only need 1 controller. In fact, you actually can 2 hand the club. I just grab my controller with my free hand, and 2 hand it like real life.

      @@VRGRID i know. That's what I'm talking about. Be careful to not put your offhand ON THE CONTROLLER TRACKING RING. Instead put in on the wrist above the tracing ring.
      I got a lot tracking issues while playing pistol whip with a single controller and putting my offhand's palm under the controller.
      Once i had a busy room and stopped covering the rings, i never had tracking problems beside the occasional half a second hiccup once every 2-3 hours.

But im curious... does it look any better than the quest version? I tried it on pc once and it didnt seem like there was much if a graphical difference. But i saw that they assert it is better on psvr2. Wonder if there actually is. Either way this is a must own for anyone who plays vr
    Edit: i randomly skipped to the graphics part lol. Maybe i need to try on pc again. I dont remember pc being any sharper but might be bad memory.

    I've not personally ever lost tracking on PSVR2, but what you have to do is turn the tv screen off. Most tv's have a 'screen off' option. The tv is still turn on and you can get sound, etc. Also make sure to not have your laptop on or any screen with anything moving. Also, keep the light turned on.

    • @VRGRID
      @VRGRID  Год назад +1

      Absolutely. This is why I mentioned that the PSVR 2 needs a firmware update, as other outside in tracking headsets like the Quest don't have this issue.

      @danielmckibbin1979 Год назад +1

      I haven't had any tracking issues with or without the TV screen on. I think it mostly has to do with room lighting. I have very bright lighting in the room and never have tracking issues.

      Yes, it's overly sensitive to lighting, and lighting placement.

    • @kato093
      @kato093 Год назад +1

      @@VRGRID another "problem" is covering the tracking rings with your hands, pretending you are holding a golf club.
      I noticed that when I was playing pistol whip with a single controller and the tracking went nuts, having more tracking issues in 30 minutes than I've got in dozens of hours.
      Then i realized i was holding the controller with the free offhand, covering the tracking rings.
      Happened a few times playing resident evil 8 while using the pistol as well. Like...3 times in more than 12 hours.
      Also, having a LOT of random stuff around the room helps too.
      For me, it was even better than having the extra tracking option border on the tv.
      I usually play facing my 42 inch tv and a big 2 door window, with the shutters closed, which are white.
      Turning around and looking the opposite way, where I have the door to my room, the door to my bathroom, a coat hanger with a bunch of clothes between the 2 doors and a chair with a bunch of clothes, helped more than the actual tracing border.
      I tried playing with the shutters opened, lots of light coming in from outside and the tracking went to shit. All the cameras could see was a ton of sunlight, the sky (both can't be tracked), a white wall to the left and my big ass tv on the right with more white wall, with the stuff happening in the tv not helping AT ALL, even with the tracking border.
      Idk if the oculus works better or not, but the psvr2 works fantastic if you have lots of stuff around. Even posters, clothes, chairs, anything that isn't just empty spaces and walls. The big open window REALLY made the tracking go haywire though. It's so disorienting when the image is stuck in place with no pitch or yaw for like a second.

    • @michelfortin7055
      @michelfortin7055 11 месяцев назад

      @@VRGRID I've had tracking issues until I realized that it had two causes. The first was when I placed my left hand on top of the ring around the controller. Avoid doing this. The second was due to my room's overhead lighting. Everytime I positioned myself to putt, it would create a shadow over the controller which the headset didn't like. To resolve this I put a couple of small work lights on the floor at a 45 degree angle in front of my position. Problem solved.

    Simpler physics? Maybe for an arcade mini golf game. Walkabout's physics is incredibly taxing. They really push the CPU on these mobile headsets. In fact I suspect its largely why it wasn't on PSVR1. Frankly that gen's CPUs were absolute trash even compared to what's in the quest 1. Being quite literally beaten by some modern phone CPUs. This game does not have simpler physics compared to very likely any VR game except Alyx. And that I think is largely part why its so popular. Everything happens exactly as it would on a real green, and real rocks, and real pavement, with a real metal putter etc. (Within human error margins at least). And that feel is what makes this game. There have been other mini golf VR games, but if you can't relate it to real life mini golf and feel as if thats what you are doing. No way you get something that becomes the top VR game for many even non mini golf fans. The physics IS this game's success. Second only to the devs commitment to making the environments feel like real places instead of just copying real life mini-golf "scenery" efforts.
