I have a HUGE tip i learned yesterday. Try not jumping while playing if your ceiling fan is on, unless you want a sharp red painting on one of your controllers.
I was showing my friend rec room and he was in the rec center. He jumped in real life to shoot a basketball and hit his hand on a light in my basement.
A personal tip I'd like to share in case anyone new to VR comes across this while getting started on their Quest 2: When drawing your guardian boundary, if you are using air link/Virtual Desktop/standalone quest mode where you have no physical tether to kinda orient around in the real world, you can mark a 'front/back' a 'left/right' or do both by putting a simple shape (wedge/bump) on one side and 2 of that simple shape on the opposing side of the boundary, this particularly applies when you have a mostly square boundary area, you may also want to turn on the 'guardian at a glance' or whatever it's called in the guardian settings where looking down shows you the outline of your guardian. This trick has saved my hands while playing GORN and Creed Rise to Glory MANY times since I am somewhat space restricted and if I swing outside my boundary I run the risk of punching lots of things (this has happened before I implemented this trick and turned on the boundary at a glance).
Heads up. I put my quest 2 down the other day to use the bathroom. When I came back it was turned off and would not turn back on, it would also not charge. If this happens all you do is hold the power button down and after 20 seconds or so it comes back on.

Btw... For casting from within, you can also cast to a ChromeCast device on your TV instead of a browser on a computer since most of us have a bigger tv than computer monitor. It’s a great way to share. Note: There is a slight lag for casting so if you are using the built in speakers in the strap then you need to have the TV volume low or you’ll hear an “echo”. Now I'm able to quickly detach my link cable and reattach each time with the cable nicely attached to the side of the strap, looks good too.
I cannot specifically vouch for any random brand's quality, but if you are looking for a short cable that also caters to headphones with a mic, you will need a TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve)-style cable. Easily identified by the 3 black isolator rings on the plug (vs 2 black rings on speaker-only headphones). A quick search for TRRS 1ft online should give you a couple options.
Hi Mike, I'm loving the Quest 2 as my introduction into VR. I was wondering if you have perceived a big spike in new users of VR, from seeing a spike in your video views?

I personally really enjoy the hand tracking feature. I am surprised at how well it works after some getting used to it!
Cool info dude... Your are a great dude.
I be hitting my bong when on my oculus it's better when you high
Cool

Doubletap passthrough has since moved to... Settings > Guardian > General
the amount of useful affiliate links in this video is absolutely brilliant
Hi Mike, I'm loving the Quest 2 as my introduction into VR. I was wondering if you have perceived a big spike in new users of VR, from seeing a spike in your video views?
1:13 I am realizing how silly I look when plying beat saber 😂😭
The tip about a mat in your VR playspace was really good. There is a setting in the quest that allows you to look down and see your guardian boundary. That was good for me while playing pistol whip.
Agreed... I just picked mine today, and I’ve been using this feature without a mat
Hey thanks dude I got my Quest 2 yesterday, Really appreciated.
I just got a Quest 2 a few hours ago! I had a Quest 1 but I ended up trading it for a Switch when I heard the 2 was coming out :D
I’m getting the quest 2 for Christmas
Hope ya get it!
same I actually cant wait
I might to good luck
I hope we get hand tracking support for vr chat.
That would be useful
I know now that the Elite strap has a high failure rate, so I treat it gently, but damn if the Battery extention pack and a VRCover Q1 strap pad didn't make the Q2 nearly as comfy and balanced as the Index.
Index is a brick it’s the heaviest vr headset it must be Really bad for your neck long term
I only just got the elite strap and it's a huge difference over the default but I still get tension aches... damn, now I need a battery extension pack it appears...
@@objectivemillennial2117 Lolwut? No.
@@WindFireAllThatKindOfThing it’s a fact the index is 809g that more than any other gaming headset out there, the first week I wore it it was extremely painful on my neck
Im picking one of these up tomorrow! :)
Thank you thank you thank you. Just got my quest today and all these tips are great.
I’m so glad you reminded me to drink water🥵
I got the Elite strap, broke in a week. I got coverage so I’m taking it back!
me watching this without having a vr headset: 👁️👄👁️
Same but I am getting one in 10 days I’m so excited
@@loganthehmr9348 I might get one this month or next month, wish me luck 🤞
