For those who are kissing his feet, that guy was an absolut disaster for our country, the origin for 90% of our actual problems.
Just to begin with, he was a MLN terrorist, directly responsible for a police officer's death.

I have family there Uruguay and I'm Uruguayan. For the last 15 years or so that he and his party were in power the country and economy constantly grew without stop and my family told me that the country became more safe. You can look up the statistics of the economic growth during that period and look for yourself, and you can also see in data that in that time the gini coefficient was lowered (meaning inequality decreased). So don't believe some random on the internet and look at the data.
