You got an elite class Quik is in it no question. There's Dj Premier, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, & what they did with Nas Illmatic was legendary .Battlecat, even Dr.Dre ,Daz, & Warren G contributions. Taking nothin away from Quik. I was a huge fan when I first heard Born & Raised in Compton & Quik was textbook & is basically unquestioned.
"Rhythm-al-ism" is still the greatest album ever made.

I was gonna say Safe and Sound and Rhythm-al-ism are easily two of the best albums ever made.

Can learn a lot from Quik in technicalities but we need Quik on a podcast and deep dive into his personality and perspective.

That boy cold! When you know your craft at the level he does what he comes up with is limitless. It’s amazing how when you hear a Quik sound you know it’s him but it differs from you’ve heard from him. I was listening to a Raphael Saadiq song and heard the intro, I said Quik had to have produced this and sure enough he comes on it.

Best in depth video I've seen of qik, thx for the interviewer to be just as knowledgeable for qik to showcase the genius of how he Mastered his craft, I really appreciate it, true to the hip-hop form, every record qik has scratching in it, qiks groove can be a compilation within itself, I hope he will one day do a jazz album like the late greats he mentioned George Duke, how broad zeppelin 🔥and so forth, I got the best sample for the SBP2 sweet black pussy 2 I've been sitting on it for 10yrs but only he can pull it off, hey just appreciate great music, SMART MUSIC oh oh that's a gift right there.

Quik is really modest. He's one of those cats that can just intuitively figure shit out :-) Combine that with a great musical ear and funky pocket, and you get some magic. There aren't many folks with that kind of technical knowledge...and still put the music first.

A very technical conversation about music (engineering, composition, etc.) from a Rap/Hip Hop legend. How often do you hear that? DJ Quik does NOT get the credit he deserves. He's literally a real, self-made, musical genius! He's the type that won't truly get his roses until he is dead, and that's a shame.
