The silver reflective material does not go under the stove. It is designed to keep the heat from the chimney from melting the side of the tent directly behind it.
No I believe it's designed to come loose and go on the floor. I've never used a hot tent that has a protection for the wall. And these walls are super tough and sturdy. That's why it's so heavy 🤣
@@CampingwithSamBananas I commented seperately from this. But check out the pictures on the website for the tent. They show the reflective material behind the chimney, up the wall. The floor doesn't need protection from heat as much as the tent wall. The clips are there to keep it on the wall.
I share your sentiment. The manufacturers website photos and videos show the reflective material up the side of the wall, which the clips are used for. But in the end, it's his tent to do with as he chooses.
Well Done Sam. You are looking healthy and slim. Best wishes to You and Mrs Bananas for 2025. Can't wait to see what you have planned this year. Loved the Intro.
When you cut the patch for your jacket make sure to round the edges of the patch. If it square it will come off a lot easier. Not sure why it works but it does
I’d guess it’s due to the corner edges of a square cut increasingly catching on things, causing it to pull off faster. Then again, I’m no coat patch aficionado 😜
The intros/openers to the bananna flask sessions never fail to make me smile. Epic stuff, Sam! lol.. "But you know what I gotta do first...." A little trick, Sam, to prevent the corners of a tape patch from peeling: Don't cut a square or rectangle. Cut the tape in a circle or oval, as it won't have sharp 90 degree corners that could separate from the rip or hole. It's the same approach when you use patching material on an inner tube in a bicycle tire.
100% my experience with puffy/coats or jackets. Always snag or the campfire embers burn holes in them. They are very cozy and great for snowy weather! not so much for gathering firewood, twigs, briars and campfires.
Your tent is as nice as my new mountain cabin, almost! What a cool way to camp! I hate wearing puffer jackets around a fire, I usually go with something made of heavy canvas fabric when I might get sparked. But they are warm.
You're invited to a major winter weather event Sam! You got about 36 hour to pack your gear before a huge winter storm hits the Ohio valley area of Kentucky and southern Indiana. We can't wait to see you live stream a new camping disaster in the Ohio valley in HD!! 🤣😂 "heavy sarcasm" Oh yeah.... HAPPY NEW YEAR! Cheers!!
Beauty bro!! One thing about the stove pipe seal. I lived in a cabin once with a crude stove and once the inside warmed up, almost no smoke escaped into the cabin. Air preasure differences between cold and warm air. Not positive on the science though.😀
Happy NEW Year Sam and Fam! What a fun Friday treat💖 Sam you simply seem more confident now, glamping or bushwhacking we all love it all. Aloha from Landers, feel free to visit the South West sometime? Take Care
Great camping. It looked hybrid with you at 19:33 saying hi everyone lol. You integrated the other live show to this. Great camping sam. I myself from Columbus Ohio.
Sam, you share 90% likeness with my best friend who died unexpectedly five years ago. I've been messed up ever since but your videos always bring me back to the good ole days. Thanks Bro 💚
You basically had a furnished apartment! Lol! Its amazing all the collapsible/packable furniture you've shown. I had a collapsible cot from walmart that was basically the same construction as a camp chair. It was awesome to have. Not the most comfortable thing but it got you off the ground. Worked well for a quick nap when I was working late too. Take care!
Thanks for getting outdoors Sam. That tent looked like hernia city to me, having had one that took an operation to heal it. I would have had to use a small handtruck to lug that city around.
Those book matches we always called gofer matches, strike one and go-fer another. One of these days you need to break down and get a good coat with a canvas outer shell, those puffy ones are great for the mall, terrible in the timber. Also forget inflatable pads especially in cold weather. Best thing I've found for cold weather if using a cot is to hang an old sleeping bag under the surface of your cot. It's basically the same idea as an under quilt for a hammock. I camp down to 15-20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit doing that. Any time I've tried to use a pad on top of a cot when I tear down, I find moisture under the pad where condensation has occurred and I definitely sleep warmer with the bag under the cot.
Great ideas! I do think I'll get a heavier coat at some point like a carhart, however I don't think I'd like it for backpacking. Too heavy and restrictive.
@CampingwithSamBananas worn Carrhart coats hunting for years, even mule deer and antelope hunting in Montana. The biggest thing is to break them in before going to the timber. Otherwise, they are stiff and restrictive.
Sam. I recommend getting a Helikon Pilgrim smock to wear over your puffy jacket at camp. it'll protect it from getting burned or torn. I find the outer material on puffies to be too delicate for bushcraft, whereas the smock is duracanvas so very tough and spark resistant.
You can hear gas in your lighter. Sometimes it's just cold. Push the orange thing down. Don't light it!! And I agree. Always get a lighter when the one you are using now still works.
Thanks for the video Sam. I've packed up in pouring rain like that, just get it done. Food looked great, yum, maybe add some precooked bacon bits. Your headlamp looked so bright, lit up everything for us. Have you ever thought of heating a bottle of water and tucking it in your sleeping bag for warmth? Outdoor Boys does that all the time. I'd like to get the down booties he has, but I fear the price is above my range. Happy New Year to you and yours.
When I go fishing and if I have my tailgate open I move my dimmer switch down so the lights turn off and the tailgate stays open.try it with the door open.
They are definitely expensive, but they also make setup and tear down very easy. It's just fun and something different. Thanks for watching bud and glad you liked the video!
Somehow missed on the live stream so at the point in this camping video you went live streaming I am going watch that video then come back and finish this camping one.

Absolutely!! In the spring I might do Gauley River. So far though, Kentucky has scratched the Appalachian mountain itch for me. WV will most likely happen next year though 👍

The silver reflective material does not go under the stove. It is designed to keep the heat from the chimney from melting the side of the tent directly behind it.
Hmmm, not the way I interpreted it, but I'll do some research.
Jeffrey is correct. The silver fire retardant material goes up the sidewall to protect the sidewall from heat. I have the same tent.😊😊
@@CampingwithSamBananasI concur with these folks, it's to protect the wall
We all love you Sam Bananas ❤️❤️❤️

The old "banana flask joke" never gets old. I'm waiting for it, and laugh every time! :)
100% my experience with puffy/coats or jackets. Always snag or the campfire embers burn holes in them. They are very cozy and great for snowy weather! not so much for gathering firewood, twigs, briars and campfires.
Love your vids recently, quit drinking though and had to take a break from your videos. Love your stuff, man !!!
It may sound a little strange, but for small ember burns in that type of material or even tiny cuts, clear fingernail polish works, wonders.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind.
The orientation of the heat resistant material, makes me think, maybe it was there to protect wall and ceiling of tent, from stovepipe heat. ??
Your tent is as nice as my new mountain cabin, almost! What a cool way to camp! I hate wearing puffer jackets around a fire, I usually go with something made of heavy canvas fabric when I might get sparked. But they are warm.

FYI, the concern of combustion in an enclosed space is carbon monoxide (CO), not carbon dioxide (CO2).
Good catch! I'll make sure I keep that in mind for future videos.
