#2. Still waiting on first shoulder replacement, so this list is gonna take a while...

22 things about my 3000 cal at 3 yards:
1: I like to call it the Schwerer Gustav
2: The fully assembled gun weighed nearly 1,350 metric tonnes
3: It could fire shells weighing 7 tonnes to a range of 47 km.
4: it has a bore diameter just over 30.00 cal at 31.5 inches.
5: The crew of the gun is 250 men to assemble the gun in 3 days (54 hours), 2,500 to lay track and dig embankments. + 2 flak battalions to protect the gun from air attack.
5: I am about to fire it at a target 3 yards away from the muzzle. This should be fun.

During our summer months we shoot 50m smallbore outdoors where we use polarized filters on our rear iris to help cut thru the mirage. Never seen anything available for scopes. Good work with the 22-250. Great to see positive ways the firearms can be used. Unfortunately not all politicians share our view

In American, when we say 22, almost always it's in reference to .22LR. I immediately knew it couldn't be .22LR though. I love that setup in the 22-250 you made there Mark. It's one of my favorite rounds.

The 22-250 is an amazing round I really enjoy it because its like a laser ...as you can see in your video it didn't take long to hit 3000 yards I think in 4 seconds ..other rounds take double that time ..obviously in the 30 cal range ...once again really love and enjoy you guys ..very humble laid back people . A true rifleman and your beautiful spotter she is great always a joy to see her there even shooting but helping you hit those incredibly long targets ..

Nice info. One of my favorite, most accurate rifles was in 22ppc. I have owned and own like most in the states 22lr, 22 mag., .223, 22ppc, 22-250 and 220 Swift. Out of those the ppc was a custom. Today I shoot 22lr, 22 mag. and .223 / 5.56. Covers most bases for .22 cal. in my needs. .22 is a very under rated cartridge in my humble opinion.
    Nice build.
    Keep'em coming!

Hey Mark.. Im relatively new to your channel.. and new to long range precision shooting!
I really enjoy watching your videos.. and I have learned a lot from your channel!
I currently have 4 bolt action rifles:
1 Toz M-08 Soviet training rifle single shot .22lr with 25" Heavy barrel
    1 Rossi RB-22M in .22wmr with 21" barrel
1 Howa M1500 mini action in 7.62x39 with 20" Heavy barrel in EXCL Lite chassis 1:9 twist
1 Remington 783 Tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor with 24" Heavy threaded barrel 1:8 twist (I plan on putting it in an Oryx chassis this month!)
My next purchase was actually going to be a Ruger American Predator in 22-250 as I am a big fan of that round.. and I planned to put it in an Oryx chassis as well.. and then I came across your channel and seen what you are doing and I just had to subscribe!
I also plan to eventually get a 7mm Rem Mag (7 PRC is too expensive) for ELR but remain undecided on how to go about that future build.. go with a barrelled action build or get a complete rifle?.. Remington or Tikka or Bergara.. or Howa or Savage? or maybe try a Masterpiece Arms..? (trying to keep things on a lower end budget)
I am also at a real crossroads where muzzle brakes are concerned (I am in Canada.. so we dont have suppressors as an option) and I am looking at options like the MDT Elite and Cadex MX-1 and the EC Tuner Brake.. also cheaper options like the SBI Tactical Hex and the Surefire ProComp.. Ive even looked at your guy down there in Australia who sells muzzle brakes on E-Bay -The Gunbloke - but Im still undecided.. and I try to do my research and watch as many review videos on products before I purchase them.
Any help or advice would be very appreciated.. as I think you know your stuff when it comes to long range precision shooting!
Keep doing your thing mate.. your channel is awesome!
    Respect from Canada!

I shoot peep sights, and when the Scottish Team came over here a while ago, some of us around here we're lucky enough to shoot with them. But they we're shooting, well crap, they couldn't work out why, wasn't until we found out they run their rear peep at 1.5mm in Scotland, where as we generally don't run over 1mm. Once they reduced their peep to 1mm they started shooting so much better. That's all because of the amount of light that gets let in between 1 & 1.5mm. They also generally have more overcast conditions so need to allow more light in.

    Hello Mark and Sam,
Can you, in a future video, address the change in the scope presentation to the shooter when adjusting for elevation with this type of scope? To me, it would seem that it would require the shooter make a positional adjustment and that is concerning. I could be wrong, would be great to hear you perspective. Thanks for all the great content.

Until I just saw your scope rings and you showing how the scope mount moves & not the reticle, it hadn't occurred to me before, I have watched the light pouring into your optics as you throw down range. In my astronomy club, I was taught to create & use an "apodizing mask or screen" to cut down light glare without reducing acuity. I used fibreglass fly screen, I'm used to 8" or bigger so picture cutting a 8" circle of fly screen with a 6.5" circle cut out of its centre. Do another 8" circle of fly screen with a 7" hole cut out of its centre. Go on like this thought 3-4 iterations and you'll have a layered edge towards the focal centre when they are laid over each other, the attenuation is graduated when dropped on the scope front glass. We don't use it for deep sky objects but for the planets and yeah - definitely the moon. Otherwise, without one, 5 minutes of observing the full moon means you won't be able to tell the time for half an hour when you look away! Your scope is 50mm so I reckon it would be fiddly, but looking at your craft, not like you'd have drama making one in these days of 3D printers. Look it up in an astronomical context. Love your work. Cheers.

In the States pretty much everyone started shooting with a .22 LR, and immediately think that when hearing anything with a .22 in it. Of course I have seen you shoot the 22LR at some crazy distances also.

In the target circles you will find a few objective end scope caps with a reducer built in, so cap closed is reducer flip it up and you have full vision.
Some of the camera based NV units have an iris out front too.

    • @mrln247
      @mrln247 2 месяца назад +1

@@georgedreisch2662 I have no real expertise there, just know that reducers are a thing and they work.
It's easy to have too much objective apart from if your someone who's want the light gathering for very last light shots and even then quality can still beat size, but that's outside of a target shooting discussion.
Enjoy your experiments if you do some.
