Brother you need to tape down the sides on that body. That Protoform Corvette body is too thin on the sides and they always open up like wings. Speaking of wings maybe more rudder less elevator.
Thanks for the input! So the wing is the same one on Spartan that's been over 150 many times. I think it was just the heavy wind it was going up against. Suspension setup is the same as well. Usually never run in this crazy wind
@@InnovationRC I'd also go as far as to say that you may be getting a high pressure zone building up in the wheel well. And some Porsche like aerodynamic trickery may be needed. You may want to get a good leaf blower and a slowmo camera to setup an impromptu wind tunnel and see what is flexing and moving around to identify areas that need to be stabilized. Like just the shear power of the air going near 130-150 is absolutely insane.
I ran that Corvette body and he's right, tape those sides because they like to flap and I had to get the nose as close as I could to the ground so it wouldn't do backflips. Wasn't my favorite speed run body.
Awesome build man! It was so fast and the throttle output was only 46.5 therefore I think this car is promising! Good luck man! Here’s a quick tip, I think you need silicone tubing on the shaft of the shocks this prevents the car from going down the same level as the front end and do a backflip maybe try that instead of the toe links on the shocks to the other shocks! The contrast between Spartan and Vision is that Spartan is lighter and the motor and the equipment in the car pushing it down will not interfere the back to go down as well as vision having double the weight contrast to Spartan. In a nutshell, it’s either wind got under it and down or it got pushed down as those links will not take it that well contrast to silicone nitro tubings!
I noticed one of the main problems with these speedruns is the body always acts as a parachute, wonder if it'd be beneficial to add wheelarches and body posts on the side of the bodies? Great run either way, and a beautiful car at that!
I wouldn’t recommend locking out the suspension like you did you want there to have some to prevent the back shocks from going to far you can use Teflon tubing in the rear with stronger springs same with the front awesome video I’m excited to see more
@@InnovationRC Spring-rate is the measurement of how much force it takes to fully compress the spring. Calculate the down force that your wing produces at full speed, add approximately the weight of half of the vehicle(per quarter) and find/calibrate springs to match. From an engineering perspective it'd undoubtedly be beneficial to add some absorbency to such a rigid frame.
Glad to see you going after the 200 mph record. If anyone can do it it’s you. Build looks solid. I like your attention to detail. At those speeds aerodynamics plays as much a role as power. As shown by your crash. Possibly a bump or a stone allowed more air under the car and lifted the front end. Getting the batteries further forward for better weight distribution should help. Downforce helps but you sacrifice speed but you know that already. It’s a tricky trade off. Great job on the build.
Thank you! I appreciate that. It was super hot out that day so that's why the front tire chunked. Body never catches air it's setup correctly so air doesn't enter inside
