Loved the more formal style - less shake cam is always more good!
Congratulations on the world record! That's a significant and fantastic feather in your cap, even if you might feel that the car was capable of so much more. Older and wiser you will be for your next attempt ;)
I'd love to see version 2 of this car. Not sure whether steering was an included component of this build, but adapting the 'take off' or auto-recovery modes which I believe are built into RC aircraft such that you can hold the car in the middle of the runway could be helpful. An AI algorithm with a camera to assess position must be available somewhere, because how you'd steer the thing at 200+mph I just don't know. The results also speak to incremental improvements - did you take measurements of crosswind speed and have you measured how far that pushed you off track? I'd also love to see your take on active aero and ways to keep the car pressed down onto the track once you get to the point where you need solid tires. As discouraging as the final result was, I'm sure you're already itching to rebuild and get back out there...

I’m calling out now, you may have beaten the world record at 94.76, but after knowing it has the “potential” to blow that record literally away, I can’t see you giving up now. This may be a record, but you will have to come back, because that drive to go faster and farther is there.

Congrats on record! All the progress you made here was great, and there's definitely room for more. As a suggestion, aviation uses check lists to avoid missing important steps. A list of each step needing to be done when preparing the car probably would've caught the missing screws. Including weather conditions might've stopped the final attempt as well. When doing a failure cause analysis, it's never just one thing, and failures can be an opportunity to identify process changes which are capable of eliminating entire classes of failures in the future.

I tried tpu flexible mounts like we'd normally use on a drone and it was horrible, no way you could drive with it. I just wanted to reach out and tell you how cool this video was. It hit home in many different ways. And remember, if you're not breaking things, you're not trying hard enough. I'm so excited to see what the future holds for you. Keep it up my friend. 👊

Good job! Now you know that you can even break the record you have set out this time. If weather conditions are favorable for you, you are hundred percent sure that you can get a faster record.

Pro tip for assessing the weather in Wales; Look to the horizon. If you can’t see the hills, it’s raining. If you can see the hills, it’s about to rain.

A great achievement on breaking the WR. We know that the harder we push the greater the risk so you really need some sponsors to cover most of the cost of the next build. I would think that your WR should attract those sponsors.

This is about as real as video documentation for a project gets, and I respect that deeply. Engineering skills have been appropriately held in high esteem within civilized culture precisely because they embody the fine art of solving real world physical problems. Being an engineer is not easy, but the rewards of learning far overcome those most educational moments of heartbreak and failure. In the end, it's practically magic when we watch what was once considered impossible, taking place before our very eyes.

insane work, one you're doing this by sight, no fpv cams and 2 that you're now holding the world record.
now you must defend this record by doing a mk2. i might suggest/ask why not with a dji digital fpv set up somewhere so you can see easily and maintain radio control longer

Flying the flag! Congratulations on the record. I was lucky to be able to see Thrust SSC as it was being developed and it brought a lot of pride and I was just looking! I hope you will have a go next year as clearly you have the chance to push the record to its extremes.

I'm curious if a gyro linked to the steering servo or a gyro stabilized rudder system would help keep it straight? Or even a gyro rudder linked to the steering to somehow counteract side to side movement.

    Hey buddy
I really appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment. I wish I had such development opportunities in the past. The fact that you broke the Guinness Record means something great. I really appreciate your work and I can imagine how much work, money and energy it took...
    Now it will be But...
I missed something in your film that professionals do.
    Simple check-list.
The fact that you forgot some screws is due to the lack of a check-list.
No systemic solution to check whether the structure that is setting the world record is properly prepared? And isn't he just throwing himself into the wind?
I understand that you look at the same model for the thousandth time and have the feeling that you already know everything about it. Well, you see, you don't know. Paradox, isn't it?
But maybe someone from the outside could spot what doesn't suit him or what needs to be checked???
That's why so many people work at NASA.
I understand how much work you put into this project. I also did a few similar ones, but then I didn't have the currently available capabilities, computers, simulations or appropriate companies that already have experience.
And as I see, you felt too confident at some point.
Maybe it's worth using the experience of wise people and, in such a bold project, also creating an error elimination system?
Maybe even try to find someone who will judge you from the outside, without all the group emotions and mutual connections, drinking beers together and spending evenings. Someone who is not emotionally dependent on the project.
    This is called an auditor!!!
And then you can quickly and relatively cheaply get an answer as to what needs to be improved.
I have been teaching my son the logical method of elimination since he was young.
E.g. You want a new monitor, so it will choose 4 models. Then select 2.
And you will come to a decision.
PS. Treat this as my random thoughts, not an attack on your project, which is great in principle and once again I congratulate you on your achievements.
You may say - as many viewers do - that I'm exaggerating. APPROX. I'd rather say that than say nothing. BECAUSE maybe my experience will be useful to someone here.
    Just like that... ;)
    Regards
    Stanley

A good way to cool the motor controller on the electric ones is take a heat pipe out of a laptop PC and use the processor end on the motor controller. The other end with the radiator can have ducting and or an electric fan on it. This process also works for the motors with a little modification, you have to bend the processor end around the motor and use something to hold contact with the electric motor. This is important to use heat conducting transfer goo and something to hold pressure on the heat pipe to the motor controller or the motor! Hope this tip helps!
