I hope you guys get the record, but I enjoy that you have a "just a toy" enthusiasm with everything! Looks like a great bunch of people to go after a world record with.
Kev, I truly love this kind of content. This is the kind of stuff we need more of!!! This whole series has been a joy to watch on both yours and Raz's channels.
I can't believe how hard it is gor you guys to reach this milestone.. really shows how much of a challenge it is. The amount of trial and error is unbelievable hats off to you guys I really see the appeal to speed running now.. if it was just all out power and reaching the targets easily, nobody would do it lol
Very good idea to do the collab. I've been thoroughly entertained. With so many people getting more isolated, it's awesome that you are showing you and your channel reaching out and interaction with creators that some would consider competitors. Great job!
Cause aerodynamics are more important than power. There could be done quite a lot more. Give the tires internal housings or find a more Streamline body
Awesome attempt! Having worked on prototype cars in the 80's may I suggest cutting out the louvres on the front wheel wells. That will keep the air coming around the wheel and lifting the nose.
The downforce from that speed is causing the chassis to bottom out under high speeds. I would suggest adding stiffer suspension and maybe a tad more ground clearance, or slightly bigger wheels and tires. Bigger tires would also give you more speed as well.
Kev, I researched about what happened when the car flipped. 13:57 It's because of the car weight, downforce, wheelbase and suspension. A short wheelbase has more of a chance of tipping over, like when a car brakes, the front end gets shoved down. But on your car, the high acceleration tipped the car over to the back, air is being shoved through the front, causing a huge front flip. The car's length is narrow. But you don't have to fix that. There was more weight on the back when in the front, (the electronics are heavy) so what you need to do is level the weight out by placing some electronics in perfect positions, so the front has a LITTLE BIT more weight than the front. Now the suspension is OK, but the ride height needs to be adjusted, don't make the car too low or make the front and rear height uneven. I suggest 2-5cm of ride height should be fine. The stiffness for the shocks could also be an issue, make the front soft (not too soft or it will scrape the ground) but enough for it to stay up when accelerating. Keep the rear shock stiffness the same.
Haven't been watching for long, in fact just recently gotten into RC cars from building mini Bikes, and your content has inspired me to think up lots of dumb cars Keep at it I hope you succeed in your goals!
The monster truck build was an estimated £250,000 gbp and there's a lambo in the garage 😳 I'd say RUclips really pays when you get millions of views/subs... I've been watching Kev for about 3 years, it has been epic to watch lol I don't think he can fit 1 more thing in that workshop now 😄 🤣 😂 😆 maybe the next life improvement is a kick ass massive workshop with a proper monster truck area and his own Rc bash shop adjoined, that would be sweet 😋 👍
It’s all listed as a business expense and tax deductible. The views on 1 vid more than pays for it many times over. Thank god or we would never get to such mad creations.
I’ve got my first rc car to 62mph on 3s but I never DREAMED that the RC hobby was so EXPENSIVE and so many people do it. I have 3 different ones but my first slash I have made into something unique and crazy fast for a beginner....2 years. I’m currently fabricating some carbon fiber 3d printed parts.
7:53 - My god I'm so happy with Kev's answer! He's definitely doesn't take all these speedrun things too seriously! Please Kev continue being yourself! you're the best RC owner I know! Cheers!
Gotta be a bit frustrating to go for the record. You have to have have good weather conditions, road conditions, the cars cost big money and at those speeds cost a lot to fix buuuuuut if you can beat the record it's gotta feel oh so sweet. Wishing you and Raz the best. I believe in you guys. The dream team. 🏆
Holy awesomeness!!! I have a feeling that you'll be getting that 205 mph pretty soon!!! Your car was absolutely flying!!! And I don't mean when it crashed... 😂
Regarding the servo relocation, an additional benefit here will be helping to keep the front end down. A quarter pound taken from the vehicle and placed IN FRONT of the front axle will substantial. On the negative side - you do risk additional damage with any strong frontal impacts. But then, speed running isn't about limiting damage in the event of a crash - otherwise it would be called "limited damage" running. And that sounds boring.
To get to 200+ mph with the max 4 dual combo as you gear up increase your battery (mAh) that will prevent the esc for cutting aim for (20k MAH+).... Looking forward to the build kev!
Just found the channel recently and have been watching the back catalogue. Wondering if you would do a top ten shoot out for RC cars under $100 for people just finding the hobby
Hello. Kev, I believe you are going the right and fun way with your limitless. Love it by the way. I honestly think that aerodynamics is key now that you have reached the ceiling of 170mph. I suggest a hard shell. If you are happy with the drag this shell is giving you make a mold using a new one and make it carbon fiber. It will be heavier but it won’t give you any issues like bending under downforce. Stiffen up shocks and give it a go. Double the motor is double the power indeed but how much will you gain in top speed considering the extra weight. 15S sounds key too. Keep exciting us with your amazing toys mate!
Hey Kev, i really think (project air) has the right idea with his jet car. from my thoughts 250mph is not out of reach. maybe that would be build worth trying to replicate.
Hey Kev, I feel like I've seen that issue before, on ProjectAir's RUclips channel he tests alot with something called "downforce". If any amount of air got underneath the car, it would result in the car flpping straight upwards like a backflip. I noticed when you were playing back the footage frame by frame. I recommend you check out a couple of his video's on downforce or heck he may have a business email. Either way, it definetly looks like air getting underneath the car and causing the flip.
If Kevin doesn't understand the concept of downforce by now...I am shocked, and it would not say much for his knowledge. So I am pretty sure he has some knowledge of the topic. I could be wrong of course. And there's some balance between downforce and speed. Too much downforce is not desirable, as well as not enough.
Downforce is extremely well known in car circles, from real cars to rc,without being rude but you can rest assured that Kev and Raz especially know all about it
I suggest having like a truck or something sweep the track where you are driving the car to remove any pebbles or anything, it’s worth it if you wanna make crashing way less likely
Hey Kev! Absolutely loving the video so far, as I'm watching it currently. Quick question for ya! I noticed that you uploaded the ROSSA video with the Project Fastest car that was red, but was this video filmed first, and then you filmed the main video linked at the top of the description afterwards? Just a little thing I noticed and I was just curious! Hope you have a great day!!
He's got a couple of cars built differently that he's trying to get the record with,he has more than one in case he crashes and writes a car off he'll still be able to try. He didn't want to drive for 4 hours to go to a 3 day event and crash his car and his weekends ruined, this way he can still try for the record
First?
BOOM!!
Boom!!
nice XD
Polly wants a cracker??😂😂🐐. You will invent a potato next 🤪
BOOM!!
When I first got into RC, Cliff Lett held the record at 88 mph. It’s pretty amazing how much time and work its been to go from 100 to 200..
I still have my original Bandit that only did 30mph and lipo battery’s were not even used in rc yet😂Now I make boats over 100mph🤯
I will completely be bummed out if I find out he didn't use a De Lorean to that record!
There is a guy called "slow rc mike" that has done 137 mph on 3S with an 1\8 scale car. Speeds are getting ludacris and I love it
@@mildtowildrc7343 ni cad batteries?
@@TheBod76 Now, I did grow up in the 70's/80's can you get a DeLorean to go over 88mph?
Kevin I'm so freaking proud of how far you've come. So happy to see how much fun your having doing what you love to do. Keep up the great work.
7:52 this is why i love kev so much. really puts things into perspective.
My personal motto for RC (thanks to Kev) is "if it breaks, we had fun"
Love that part I just barely blew my motor in my maxx and I was very very upset I should have thought like the reply
You guys make great content together and it seems your personalities play well off each other. Keep doing collaborative work!
I hope you guys get the record, but I enjoy that you have a "just a toy" enthusiasm with everything!

Kev, I truly love this kind of content. This is the kind of stuff we need more of!!! This whole series has been a joy to watch on both yours and Raz's channels.
This is actually a brilliant build!!
Yo

What was the best speed on the rossa event ?
Your channel is wicked Raz 👌

Fantastic. This build was really impressive!!!!! Thanks for the support with my onyx packs Kevin. Looking forward to future team work with yourself.
You have an ABSOLUTE DREAM SHOP Big Bro!!!! My son and I love your channel!!! Tell Raz his channel is badass too!!

I love how supportive Raz is
Stumbled on this by accident - looks fun, and the community looks awesome for the sport - keep it up 👍
Grew more respect for James . He literally did 204 Mph with a single road and two castle motors 🤣
Two castle motor ? Lol
shhhhh! we dont want to know who the stupid guy is

Always puts a smile on my face watching your awesome enthusiasm kev!

@13:45 That's just it driving into its own Shockwave as it breaks the sound barrier, Kev.
You sure?
last time i checked, in order to break the sound barrier you have to be going somewhere around 750MPH.
@@QHG69 I didn't think I would have to say this but, it was a joke my friend.
@@TomboRectify yes!
could the reason be turbulence created by driving so close to the tires on the side of the track?

Once again, Talbot breaks everything BUT the the record. Epico
That Max 4 and motor combo did pretty good on its own. Didn't expect it to go as fast as it did. 173MPH is awesome.
