I saw these guys at the Mooloolaba Hotel Sunday Session in 1984. Jesus they were what 80s were. Used to put 20c in the Mapleton pubs duke box to hear this song and Soul Kinda Feeling. I am old and crazy but shit yeah.

These guys sure were great. Almost like our very own Style Council - with excess SOUL! They should have been much bigger than they were. I always compared them with Stylus; ahead of their time/bad timing.

Can’t believe you haven’t got a comment in 8 years . But YES . Aussie style council - great comment that deserved at least some comment surely !

Agreed. I sadly haven't heard them on the airwaves for such a long time. My (slightly older) partner playing DJ with his phone, had Soul kinda feeling playing... and I'm trying to guess who it was. Yup, I failed, -Not Mentals, Not Style Council! Umm!.. I knew the tune, a few lyrics but that's about it. I looked up the lyrics and corrected the lines I wasn't sure about.. along with their name.. oh yes....and..they're Aussie too! How can it get any better? I went on a great reminiscent journey. So good to be able to appreciate them better in this rediscovery. ...neigh 40 years on.

I always thought they were a bit of a novelty band, but these are some well written and well played songs.

@MeatCloud Hey Meatcloud, glad you like the clip! The "remastered" refers to the video being digitally remastered, while the audio is actually taken directly from the CD which was re- issued in the early 90's. And you are right, the CD wasn't re-mastered, and all the top end boost added to the master tapes to make the vinyl sound great makes those early CD's sound thin and scratchy!

One reason I hate CDs, the vinyl is best in all eras of music

Damn this band should have lasted longer!!! Still, I see Continental Robert is still crooning around the circuit every now and then.

Great song... I appreciate the availability.
Remastering was needed, however, this sounds like somebody has just cranked the shit out of the 'top end'.
Too bright !! ... and now the phat driving bass sounds somewhat burried.
Do love the song though and it still sounds much better than plenty of RUclips vids from this era.
Thanks for posting, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
