Lulu was one of my inspirational singers from the sixties she never ceases to keep,up her strong voice. she is encredible for her age .I saw at the theatre-royal Norwich and she got a standing ovation. she was great.

No she doesn’t sound the same. She injured her vocal cords in the 80s and never sounded the same afterwards. But that is not a bad thing because she redid a lot of her teen year songs like this one in a more mature voice that actually sounds better.

It's nice that she got to sing it with the writer. I watched the lulu show in the 1960s when she sang it. The BBC light entertainment shows back then we're better than today's BBC shows. IMO. They were a mixed bag then. You could have Cilla Black and The Beatles sharing the stage with someone spinning plates on sticks. A dog dancing on its hind legs. A fire eater and a man doing card tricks. Something for everyone.

And I did wait in line with over 30,000 other fans at the Greek to try and buy tickets...but that was another story in my life. I did see the Monkees in a reunion concert at the Universal Amphitheater, so, that was enough. Yes, they did sing "I'm a Believer"! And Mike did come on stage for a few songs-and kept his mouth shut about what he thought of the music. In return, we all tolerated him playing a few of his own songs.
