You can just tell by watching both of them there was still strong feelings for one another. Even though they both had moved on and made separate lives. There was still love between them. You can see it in their eyes, and hear it in their voices, the love they once shared was STILL there. When he sadly passed, way too soon, she stated that she had lost the one true love of her life. I'm so glad they got to share this one last moment. I don't know why, but I still cry every time I watch this, knowing the love they still shared. RIP Maurice. You are missed by so many. Maurice Gibb was the Bee Gees secret weapon! He was responsible for a lot of those great horn arrangements on Bee Gees songs, plus a skillful musician and writer. He may not have stood out the way the other two did, but he definitely had talents in ways that the other two did not. He arranged some of the string sections on the Sentimental Journey album by Ringo Starr. Whether noteworthy or not, it was definitely something that the other two could not do.
He really was the man in the middle, as he used to call himself. Barry and Robin got all the focus for obvious reason, but Mo was always the glue that held it all together, musically and otherwise…

I was a big Bee Gees fan as a teen. I had such a crush on Barry. I gotten hooked on them again recently watching documentaries about them. Yes, she felt that she would just attract press if she went and that the focus should be on the family. She was in California when she got the news, but the press was swarming her family in the UK hoping for a statement. I think she made the right choice. She had a long phone conversation with Yvonne before she went back home where they shared memories of Mo. Yvonne even told her thar she was happy that they had done this duet and were on good terms before he passed.

Even after MANY years had passed them by, when she called Maurice to ask if he'd do her show, he didn't hesitate an instant. You can see it in their eyes, and hear it in their voices, the love they once shared was STILL there. When he sadly passed, way too soon, she stated that she had lost the one true love of her life. I'm so glad they got to share this one last moment. I don't know why, but I still cry every time I watch this, knowing the love they still shared. RIP Maurice. You are missed by so many. But your music will live on for eternity. And Lulu, we can feel your love for him in this song. Please, keep singing for us all.

Maurice Gibb was the Bee Gees secret weapon! He was responsible for a lot of those great horn arrangements on Bee Gees songs, plus a skillful musician and writer. I'm going to say what everyone else has probably already thought after watching this, that he should have taken more lead vocals on their songs. RIP

I have no doubt Maurice doesn't get the credit he deserves for smoothing the relationship between Robin and Barry their whole lives, and harmonizing so beautifully with them, but his solo voice explains why the other two always sang lead. @dstevens518 I've never heard anything about him smoothing the relationship between the other two. He may not have stood out the way the other two did, but he definitely had talents in ways that the other two did not. He arranged some of the string sections on the Sentimental Journey album by Ringo Starr. Whether noteworthy or not, it was definitely something that the other two could not do.

I would have loved to have heard him sing lead on more Bee Gees songs. I've always been a Barry girl, but something about Maurice in that hat, and with that sexy voice of his, just makes me melt!

I was a big Bee Gees fan as a teen. I had such a crush on Barry. I gotten hooked on them again recently watching documentaries about them. I had no idea what Maurice really sounded like and how funny he was and man he could rock a hat. I’ve got new respect for all the brothers. Can’t imagine how Barry must have felt losing them. ❤️

Yes, she felt that she would just attract press if she went and that the focus should be on the family. She was in California when she got the news, but the press was swarming her family in the UK hoping for a statement. I think she made the right choice. She had a long phone conversation with Yvonne before she went back home where they shared memories of Mo. Yvonne even told her thar she was happy that they had done this duet and were on good terms before he passed.
