When he said "Shock Trooper" I instinctively thaught of the ones from the original Battlefront 2 for the ps2. They were awesome they had jetpacks to launch them far, and they also wielded rifles that shot charged electricity blasts. They did have similar black armor, but it was a little more bulky.

The main down side to the stormtrooper armor isn't that it's susceptible to blaster fire, it's that their armor spreads the blaster shots through out the armor piece so the trooper has more of a chance to live but causes troopers to pass out from usually one or two landed shots. Clone armor on the other hand does exactly the opposite, where the shots will cause damage to where it is intended and more likely to kill the trooper, instead of spreading the shot and increasing the survival rate. When a trooper is shot and falls, its a fifty fifty that they died or are knocked out to pain.

As a Veteran I don't buy a trooper for every type. I can see a basic troop type, a scout troop and then after that a Special Environment type ( sand, snow, beach, zero-g etc.) Shadow troops for me are the upper echelon of ST Corps Special Ops. Clone Troopers followed this pattern if you think about Rep. Commandos and ARCs as well as the Nulls.
but we've only ever seen a 1st order flame trooper. not a galactic empire flame trooper. also fun fact: captain phasma was created based on concept art for kylo ren that J.J abrams really liked,he just didn't see it working for Kylo ren and made captain phasma so he could still use it.
