after i watched this special show on KING KURT i went to the shop to buy the ticket for their show in the "zeche" in bochum and it was (and still is) for me one of the best shows ever... thanx for uploading!!!!!

the guy at the beginning is ron williams, he hosted the german/austrian tv show "musik szene" for more than seven years. in its time it was the best show you could get on boring german language telly.( it was also the time i had to fight with my dad about listening to bfbs (john peels music), the rare chance to tape (!) decent music)... good ole times? ha! !!!!
Saw them at a punk all dayer in Sheffield about 2010. They were fantastic. One of the most charismatic frontmen I've seen live. Kept taking the piss saying "Sheffield, home of the scissor. " Ooh waller waller.
I would love to see this documentary with English subtitles, do you know if there is a copy anywhere? I was at the concert at the beginning of the video, New Year 1983 at the Lyceum in London!
3) Flour and food colouring are mixed together backstage and are poured into the crowd between the songs: Surprise, surprise! King Kurt: Cause we love it! It makes a change from being a road sweeper or being unemployed. After all, playing in the band is great. We get cash for what we do, even though it is just rubbish. Well, everybody makes nonsense. Previously, I tried to sleep for three years, but I failed because I had to get my Jobseeker's Allowance.
2) Narrator: Those are either the craziest hairstyles London has ever seen or costume performances. Sometimes, wearing skirts is obligatory for band and audience, the next time the “Kurties” surprise as polystyrene angels. To create this magnificent quiff you need two hours and a hair spray can for 3,00 Mark. In order to prevent the audience from falling asleep during the concert, there are more diabolical jokes:

Narrator: London at the turn of the year 1983/84: Some unemployed youngsters have learned to play competent, although the members of King Kurt put more emphasize on the outer appearances. They spend much patience and time to constantly present their fans new lunacies to be continued...
@Hupsi73 das muss eine co produktion gewesen sein. denn anfangs stand orf. also österreichischer rundfunk und die moderatoren sprachen meist auch ö. allerdings wird im bericht von d-mark und nicht von schilling gesprochen. ich weiss nur das ich diese sendung auch im orf gesehen hab weil die damals in wien ein konzert hatten und ich dort war ;-) lustig woas :-)

It is important for them that they earn enough money with their music to afford one hamburger per day, cigarettes and beer. The mascot of the band is a rat because King Kurt feels connected to the status of the rat in wild life: suspicious omnivore that lives in the sewer of society. Besides, they like to describe society itself with the synonym “Zululand”.
