Losing To A Team That Overslept? - Saddest Defeat In Esports History
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 31 май 2021
- Space Station Gaming versus eUnited at the Smite Pro League is a match infamous in esports history with one team oversleeping to the point of almost throwing an entire series only to arrive and pull off a major reversal.

“You can’t defeat me, I slept 8 hrs last night”
Game 1? I sleep. Game 2? I sleep. Game 3?...
Nice tf2 How it feels series reference.
I need to hear this in doom guy's voice :p
To be fair, that's is a solid reason.
*8.1 hours. They overslept remember
Damn, the oversleeping meta sure is underrated
But never underrested.
"I guess they were feeling pretty confident but they weren't counting on one thing:
We slept *nine hours* last night." _proceeds to eviscerate enemy team_
Geuss u could say this meta is quite slept on
Nine hours of sleep is very underated.
Also nice pfp, underated game.
This reminds me of the greatest samurai in history, as the tale goes he challenged one of the most deadliest samurai at the time that used a long reach weapon; when they scheduled a duel the long reach samurai meditated for one hour before his duel. When the match was set the world's best samurai showed up one hour late making the meditation of the other samurai more unstable, to make matters worse the world's best stated that he "forgot his sword" and "only had a wooden one", which broke the last straw the long reach samurai launged at him but little did he know that wooden sword was longer then his. So overall I belive this was an intentional 1000iq play by the smite team
I'm gonna be honest. If you lose to a team that overslept, I think you should just accept it, because you were fighting a team of anime protagonists. You should be thankful that one of them didn't turn up with toast in their mouth.
In anime, its almost mandatory to see the MC get late for class then run outside with a piece of bread in their mouth.
@@Ken-wf8fo ah yes the rom com rules

@M7 A Or forget that there is a separate nob for the radio alarm.

True
smite's a good gaming
This was an absolute embarrassment to watch live. The casters had every right to be pissed, even if they win, it’s their literal job to show up and play the game. RIP Finch.

man and I thought losing overwatch games when the enemy had a leaver was the worst thing in all of gaming
that happened to me too many times...
lol i allmost lost a 6v4 my team hat still to tryhard agains 4 wich was fkn sad defnatly didn't deserved the win but well luck was on my side that day
@@Sumaria69 I've had one game where they were down two and we had to try hard to win since we goofed off and lost a round pretty bad, other than that though I've only actually lost when they have a leaver when I'm not playing my main role, I'm in a 6 stack with friends and we're just having fun
This is what it feels like when the enemy has an afk and you still lose.
what's up with Benji showing up last second. first he shows up to the tournament last second and then he shows up to the fire-giant pit to steal it last second. He definitely made up for costing them an extra game.
Well, they say The Hero is always late to the fight
This shows that it was one-sided from the start. If the team came in on time, with confidence I can say the score would have been 3-0. So it is not a bad loss as one team is just better than the other, and smite does not have a penalty system with kills unfortunately
Yes it was one-sided, but they at the very least could've used that luck to get a little further.
The issue wasn't that EUnited won 3-0 (which they basically did with the reverse 3-0 comeback), it was that SSG lost with 2 wins literally being handed to them on a silver platter. Best way to put it: imagine getting absolutely destroyed in a game; it sucks, but it happens. Now imagine getting destroyed in a game after the enemy had a severe handicap; it goes from 'well that sucks' to outright demoralizing. They didn't even need to win a best of 5, or even a best of 3; they just had to win once, and couldn't even do that.
@@anthonyk3952 but its still better than the other scenario where they win. If they won the set, their win would literally be undeserved as that one game could easily be based on luck and they had 3 chances for it to happen. If anything, it was good that it would've been a stomp either way because then the results wouldn't have been compromised. if both teams were equally matched, the late team could have lost by a fluke
Not only did I not expect to see a Smite video on this channel, but I also did not expect to see Finch again so soon after his passing :(
RIP Finch
Thank you for making this vid, honestly SMITE deserves a lot more attention. Even if you put esports aside, the game itself is a lot of fun. Like league but more action-oriented and with slightly less frustrations.
Yeah I think smite is balanced better.
@@ambermurray2496 mmmm kinda both ganes have their things but smite is way more balanced
@@conkis8931 if smite is more balanced I don't even want to imagine league lol
46 minutes in and the kills are 12/14. Lmao what the hell if this is more 'action' oriented than League. League must be some hot garbage. In dota 2 you would have double or triple the amount of kills by that time.
@@NinjapowerMS well that game is an absolute outlier by all means. It was a very strange match. most games are only 20-25 minutes long.
never thought I'd see Smite vid on this channel, happy to see it mate
rip to an amazing smite caster and more, John Finch.
Wow! It’s so nice to see someone covering my favourite smite history moments on a non-smite related channel! Thank you for spreading these entertaining stories of smite pro-league and other esports moments!!
Damn this story is a classic in smite esports. Also rip Finch ❤️
I worst part is the realization that they reversed the score entirely. In the end, they won 3-0, because the other team put in no effort for the first two games, which may have been more demoralizing than you think. It basically implies that they had little chance of winning to start with. The other team was FAR better than them in terms of team composition and skills. It likely hit home for SSG that they wouldn't have won a single game if EUnited never showed up late. Additionally, the person who basically curb-stomped them was the very person who gave them game two.
Man.. seeing Finch cast the game in this video.. It hurts.. I can't believe we lost him last week. Rest in peace big man.
Love how even in the team lineup clip, Barracuda is all smiles
RIP Finch. Also I didn't think you would cover this game. Glad you did!
To be honest, this was about the 3-0 win for EUnited, and never about the 2-3 loss for SSG
never underestimate a well rest 💪
Xdx, Spacestation made the misstake of not waking up Eunited before their 'overslept' passives where fully charge xd.
5 minutes of sleep can do wonders for your mental state.

oh my god Akshon's making Smite videos now? hell yeah
As a SSG Fan watching this live was so depressed
THANK YOU FOR COVERING SMITE.
I feel like no one covers it other than our small community and I feel like it's really rich in history.
And that's it, that's the highest amount of "Oh no no no"s I've said in a 7 minute period
proof that 5 more minutes makes all the difference
Can't wait to see that Envy vs Soar set next if you do any more Smite content. Never forget the first blood prince himself...
Don't know if Akshon will read this, but it would be nice for the smite community if there was some sort of homage paid to John Finch, one of the casters for this set. He passed, recently, and those of us who have been a part of this community are feeling it. He was a good man and a lot of people are in pain.
This was the most jaw-dropping thing to watch live. And a 10k+ gold lead is VERY significant in SMITE, just amazing they managed to lose back-to-back games where they held over a 10k lead.
I read that title as a home tournament where a team won who was just having a sleepover, like a group of children beat a professional team.
You could've mentioned eUN and SSGs results at Worlds. Or how Benji is considered one of the best Solos of all time.
