Something you seem to have missed about the vacuum is that bag on the back is clearly being filled up as it sucks up ink. this is great and all, I just have a few issues with the UI still. it looks a bit... beta? idk, maybe its intentional that it looks less conventional, but still, maybe some polish. also the release date makes me sad cause I'm in college and I won't be able to play it at launch XD
Can’t wait for September! I’m really intrigued to know what the “Week 1” meta of this game will be (tri slosher S2) I can only imagine the possibilities 😭
Ive never been more terrified and excited. Clearly this game has a lot more movement options, but Im not sure how backlines (specifically splatlings) are gonna adapt especially with the roll parry and the vacuum. On the flipside they might fair better because with whats shown there aren’t a whole lot of global specials.
Great analysis! You explained everything that *could* be problematic with the vacuum. Hopefully it's done right and the special will be just fine... I'm not THAT worried. Inkstrike launcher is so crazy I don't even know what to say... at least it looks like you can't use your main weapon during the projectile phase but it still seems to strong and versatile. I'm gonna have to put my faith in the dev team on this one I guess.
Just started the video: I think the spawn invincibility is a great way to get rid of spawn camping. Just finished the video: So many big and small changes that it makes it more of a sequel than Splatoon 2. Also, I had no idea about the weapon demos. That gets me more hyped lesgoo!
That vacuum does have a maximum amount of ink it can suck. You can see the backpack on the back. When the maximum amount is sucked up, it shoots. Theory: it might have a variety of damage it does when it shoots the ending shot at the end of the special based on how much ink it sucks.
painting your feet is sometimes an issue in s2, but several times in the trailer it's shown that after standing on the other team's ink for a bit it becomes your color
"yep... looks like a shooter." giving me "and none for gretchen weiners, bye" vibes. also, thank god for big bubbler having a beakon inside. can't wait for randoms to finally learn what beakons are.
I'm really eager to find out if you can tank a charger shot with a squid roll. If you can... that would be a HUGE nerf to chargers, it's like ink armor but you can use it at all times. I really hope that's not the case, though it looks like the animation is pretty fixed in its direction (you can't change direction mid roll) and is somewhat slow so a good charger could probably punish it and shoot them right after their I-frames end. I guess we'll just have to see!
One thing I noticed with the bow. In the weapon showcase you see the inkling charging up, but in gameplay it looks like they're firing in rapid succession of 1 dart, 2 dart, 3 dart. Given that the "tristringer" 's gimmick seems to be shooting 3 arrows going off the name alone, I'd guess that charge affect shot range, not the number of darts and you're stuck in the pattern of 1,2,3. I only bring it up because I'd heard some speculation that charging it would change the number of arrows you shot.
I believe the Japanese page said that the arrows only "solidify" for fully charged shots, meaning no exploding arrows in the ground for uncharged shots.
2 things I’ve noticed. 1. The the bow kind of looks like a fly fishing pole and 2. If you look in the corner in the victory animations it says medals earned. I don’t really know what this is it might be a way to look back at stats or maybe it’s a small fun feature.
It does look really difficult to balance though, because if it’s too strong then it’s just a panic button/ it’ll become overpowered in zones, but if it’s too weak then it’ll probably be another splashdown situation, maybe even worse since it doesn’t take as much skill for new players and people who have no aim (me) to cancel. Plus, if they don’t balance it right, short range weapons could be out of the meta entirely. But that’s just my opinion on the subject :)
Something I noticed when watching this and the shooter demo is that the Splattershot paints it's feet SIGNIFICANTLY better and might even have a bit more painting range, who knows
Whole game looks amazing. I can’t wait. The delay means I can finish my SZ X Rank and maybe get Tower Control done too. Imagine if they did daily weapon kit videos closer to release so people can see what their 2 main got if it returned. Kind of like the daily videos Shin Megami Tensei V put up close to release
I wonder what happens if you use the Inkstrike Launcher and don’t throw the markers. Do they land on top of you? Do the markers throw automatically, hence why they throw so far so fast? I’m not sure.
Maybe for Splatoon 3, they should change wall so the user's team can't move through it. That could prevent .52 players from being too aggressive with it
I have figured it out. The meta of 3 will be getting behind people. Most of the specials are extremely weak from behind(whale 5.1, vacuum, and crab). Zip caster is going the best way to get behind them, and the big bubble can be used to defend their back.
also when someone dies on your team or the other team, it shows a little animation on top that makes it obvious that someone died, it also shows a little X marker where your teammate died.
Another thing to note is that at 0:41when the players are launching themselves onto the field, the Tri-Stringer launched itself on a platform up above at the top left, meaning that you can choose to either launch up high to snipe your opponents, or you can launch down low to fight directly.
I think it’d be interesting for the vacuum to explode and kill the wielder if it absorbs too much enemy ink. So the enemy team will want to shoot as much as they can, but it’s risky because if they can’t get enough damage in time it’ll power up the enemy’s shot. Seems like a really cool balance to me.
The tags at the beginning have a # and 4 numbers, in other words... it seems like they're embracing discord! I dunno if I'll use it, I'm a bit of a recluse, but I know a ton of people will be happy with that. Honestly might be the most important thing for the game in the trailer.
i actually believe that the shaded effect to the character during the zip caster isn't based to if you have your back against the wall, i think its a temporary invisibility. My statement is re-enforced by the effect still being there even when they aren't backed up to a wall
PROCHARA!! so i don’t know if you noticed this but it looks like you can spectate TURF WARS. In the top left throughout the trailer, There’s a spectate symbol. What if it’s a private battle? It isn’t because you gain rewards at the end of the match AND from Nintendo UK on RUclips, this trailer is called a TURF WAR match
4:14 imo, it seems weak. We don't know much so i will speculate. Rollers can roll over it and brushes can go behind it and splat them. You might not be able to go into squid/octo form and if you can't turn up charger can counter it. Your also so slow while using it. Slow turning and no primary or subs. It requires teamwork to be effective and the d-pad looks bland and enemy teamwork can counter it. If it has an ink suck cap then hydra and splatlings can be a counter. And it has a small amount of range to suck ink. Clash could also be a counter with its idiotic blast radius and so can luna. But it's speculation. It can be broken, balanced or trash but we don't know yet
If you look closely the first time the pro shoots a point sensor sub thing at the enemy, the enemy gets some enemy paint on them, leading me to believe that it does do damage
I noticed something interesting - if you take a look to the very left of the screen as they are first jumping in, you see the Tri-Stringer actually landing ontop of the grated area and continuing to shoot up there. This suggests that there will be certain platforms accessible only by jumping to them or using Zipcaster.
One thing I noticed about the new ink strike when analyzing the trailer myself: Slosher fires the triple ink strike when having about 620p and the three strikes seem to paint for the next special (which may be a bit worrying). Tho after slosher painted for a bit (till the next weapon is shown), it has 750p and 11/23 of the special bar rectangles are filled up. That could mean that ink strike has 260p (considering that all of the little spaces are the same amount of points). If so that could balance it a little more if its really that strong, and I gotta say that I kinda like the idea of a really strong special that has the down side of being pretty expensive (the player has to be more careful and you can try to bait people into killing you etc.) But the game really seems to be awesome in terms of new/reworked specials, I'm really looking forward to play them. And if brella actually got a buff I'd be pretty happy as a brella main
The strikes dont paint for the next special what happens is you start farming them after the 3rd one is launched, it gets paint because someone died to it. The turf war counter is also slower to go up then actual paint so its a bit hard to tell. Id def assume its around 200-220
I'm feeling the vacuum is going to be counter with simply feeding it ink ASAP with teammates, to make the vacuum full and become vulnerable. Similar concept with dealing with a Booyah Bomb.
I wonder if I'm zipcaster, when using my brush, do I lose ink and that ink is gone when I land? Or is it infinite ink since specials refill the tank? Sorry if this is worded poorly
Isn't a major gameplay feature, and probably mentioned somewhere else, but in 0:41, a player's icon (I believe the Tri-Stringer) snaps to the secret upper grate in the top left (unfortunately, it doesn't look like a useful spawn location lol). Not only do I think that there's generous auto-aim for landing in, but map design may get more interesting with more verticality and ways to enter at the start.
the splatoon community is really carrying the hype train for this game BDSBFDSB the beakon on the shield is wild though, i can only imagine it in any ranked mode, throw it on the zone, throw it at a basket, throw it on the tower, set it by the RM for your teammates to help push, w'oof. and ink strike launcher in zones?? gonna be crazy haha
That vacuum eats bombs? I need to try my curlinb bombs against it. Maybe a counter would be making it choose if protecting above or below....Nah, just kidding. Probably bouncing a bomb to one side of it will be the answer.
Been looking in many videos for a little fact I noticed since the first time I saw the trailer but seems like almost anybody noticed about the rolls the inkling or octoling does when super jumps, not a game changer but makes it cooler
I think the vacuum is not as broken as people think. 1: does 0 damage in general so not a panic button. 2: Turning radius like you said. 3: There is a considerable amount of delay between when the vacuum finishes sucking and when it shoots. and 4. entirely dependent on the opponent shooting at it so if your opponent doesn't shoot, the vacuum gets less powerful.
i think the pro's sub is a marker, cause that basically means the sub is a pun in and of itself. it's a marker that marks your opponent!

this is great and all, I just have a few issues with the UI still. it looks a bit... beta?
idk, maybe its intentional that it looks less conventional, but still, maybe some polish.
also the release date makes me sad cause I'm in college and I won't be able to play it at launch XD
I really love the new brella design it looks so much more better, I wonder what set the splat brella has in splatoon 3
Ink vacuum is going to be really good against other specials In my opinion. I just hope it's not too much of a panic button.
Well, missiles are confirmed now, I’m terrified
painting your feet is sometimes an issue in s2, but several times in the trailer it's shown that after standing on the other team's ink for a bit it becomes your color
"yep... looks like a shooter." giving me "and none for gretchen weiners, bye" vibes.
also, thank god for big bubbler having a beakon inside. can't wait for randoms to finally learn what beakons are.
I'm kinda surprised they haven't shown off the vanilla dulies yet considering we 100% know that they're coming back in 3
TF2 uber in splatoon TF2 uber in splatoon
I can relate that, we even have a huntsman thingy in spl 3 now lol
2 things I’ve noticed. 1. The the bow kind of looks like a fly fishing pole and 2. If you look in the corner in the victory animations it says medals earned. I don’t really know what this is it might be a way to look back at stats or maybe it’s a small fun feature.
9:57 splat roller keeps curling bomb, so here's some other good news
Big Bubbler looks really underpowered tbh. The whole team can just shoot it out and it’s gone in 5 seconds lol
Good luck doing that when you have at minimum like 2 people shooting at you constantly through it
@@cyrus9203 I don’t think it would work as a panic button since it takes a few seconds to activate and isn’t instant or as fast as booyah bomb.
52 has wall already, all hope is lost
Wall better be so ink hungry that it makes 52 unviable
@@budderguy2128 yeah defo, cus that would TOTALLY make the game balanced
Yeah hopefully it's like S1 where when you throw wall your ink doesn't start regenerating immediately
@@i_have_depression Wall having more regen delay/whitespace linger would totally assist.
I wonder what happens if you use the Inkstrike Launcher and don’t throw the markers. Do they land on top of you? Do the markers throw automatically, hence why they throw so far so fast? I’m not sure.
5:18 *God I can already see the rainmaker strats with this special*
Maybe for Splatoon 3, they should change wall so the user's team can't move through it. That could prevent .52 players from being too aggressive with it
4:13 was what we all wanted to hear
I have figured it out. The meta of 3 will be getting behind people. Most of the specials are extremely weak from behind(whale 5.1, vacuum, and crab). Zip caster is going the best way to get behind them, and the big bubble can be used to defend their back.
time for this trailer to get analyzed 50 times cuz apparently free marketing is what nintendo is banking on
also when someone dies on your team or the other team, it shows a little animation on top that makes it obvious that someone died, it also shows a little X marker where your teammate died.
Another thing to note is that at 0:41when the players are launching themselves onto the field, the Tri-Stringer launched itself on a platform up above at the top left, meaning that you can choose to either launch up high to snipe your opponents, or you can launch down low to fight directly.
Wait, Octo Expansion without having Splatoon 2?
How would that even work
I thought it's just free with NSO ex
I think it’d be interesting for the vacuum to explode and kill the wielder if it absorbs too much enemy ink. So the enemy team will want to shoot as much as they can, but it’s risky because if they can’t get enough damage in time it’ll power up the enemy’s shot. Seems like a really cool balance to me.
The tags at the beginning have a # and 4 numbers, in other words... it seems like they're embracing discord! I dunno if I'll use it, I'm a bit of a recluse, but I know a ton of people will be happy with that. Honestly might be the most important thing for the game in the trailer.
I’m guessing the vacuum is like an Option for charger players to protect themselves rather than super jumping away if someone rushes them.
i actually believe that the shaded effect to the character during the zip caster isn't based to if you have your back against the wall, i think its a temporary invisibility.
Useless fact: The charger user is called “C4L4M4R”, which if you change the 4 with A you get “CALAMAR”, which means squid in Spanish.
Im glad nintendo is taking their time with this game.
The new point sensor icon looks like a marker, I was thinking maybe it's called "Highlighter" or something
If you look closely the first time the pro shoots a point sensor sub thing at the enemy, the enemy gets some enemy paint on them, leading me to believe that it does do damage
I’m worried about hackers so be careful when you play online!
I love how he's obsessing with the brella and when he showed the splattershot he's like "ehh"
I noticed something interesting - if you take a look to the very left of the screen as they are first jumping in, you see the Tri-Stringer actually landing ontop of the grated area and continuing to shoot up there. This suggests that there will be certain platforms accessible only by jumping to them or using Zipcaster.
LUIGI?!?!
I never play splat 1 but broken things? Cant wait to chaos
If so that could balance it a little more if its really that strong, and I gotta say that I kinda like the idea of a really strong special that has the down side of being pretty expensive (the player has to be more careful and you can try to bait people into killing you etc.)
But the game really seems to be awesome in terms of new/reworked specials, I'm really looking forward to play them. And if brella actually got a buff I'd be pretty happy as a brella main
The strikes dont paint for the next special what happens is you start farming them after the 3rd one is launched, it gets paint because someone died to it. The turf war counter is also slower to go up then actual paint so its a bit hard to tell. Id def assume its around 200-220
this gave a lot of info about the release date trailer I didn't know thanks!
I'm feeling the vacuum is going to be counter with simply feeding it ink ASAP with teammates, to make the vacuum full and become vulnerable.
Similar concept with dealing with a Booyah Bomb.
I WILL BECOME A BUCKET MAIN, I'M STARTING WITH SODA BECAUSE THAT'S THE CLOSEST THING WE HAVE RIGHT NOW
I like how Nintendo actually put thought into the kits
8:50 but this, does put a smile on my face
I wonder if I'm zipcaster, when using my brush, do I lose ink and that ink is gone when I land? Or is it infinite ink since specials refill the tank? Sorry if this is worded poorly
When you shoot during Zipcaster basically the duration of your special decreases. When you land your ink tank is full.
@@Peter_Saga so you're saying during the shooting though I have infinite ink until the special ends?
@@kat2002 Technically yes but I wouldn’t recommend just shooting because that would be a waste of Zipcaster
It seems more like Zipcaster has its own ink tank, separate from your normal one
I don't know 'bout y'all, but the vacuum special looks like a ton of fun/very interesting.
I cant stop thinking about how chara said ultra stamp can only be thrown at the end? I dont think were playing the same splatoon 2
more just meant its like throwing special ends the attack
Isn't a major gameplay feature, and probably mentioned somewhere else, but in 0:41, a player's icon (I believe the Tri-Stringer) snaps to the secret upper grate in the top left (unfortunately, it doesn't look like a useful spawn location lol). Not only do I think that there's generous auto-aim for landing in, but map design may get more interesting with more verticality and ways to enter at the start.
the splatoon community is really carrying the hype train for this game BDSBFDSB
the beakon on the shield is wild though, i can only imagine it in any ranked mode, throw it on the zone, throw it at a basket, throw it on the tower, set it by the RM for your teammates to help push, w'oof. and ink strike launcher in zones?? gonna be crazy haha
My Reaction to the new Inkstrije special was very similar to yours.
"A God damn TRIPLE INKSTRIKE?!"
11:52 | Thanks for using my finding and crediting it! Glad it was helpful! (P.S.: You can call me Luis, but I don't mind either!)
