I was waiting for when he was gonna mention the S Blast kit. I’m still gonna 100% gonna use it but man I feel so sorry for chara. Only thing that save that kit is a massive reefslider buff but even then it doesn’t mesh too well.
An end lag buff to reefslider I think could save S’Blast as it could potentially use the explosion as a chance to combo. But there is no way they would buff that
Something most people missed is that H3D's ink tank is visible during the high jump reveal and after 17 zooms It looks like its around 55%/60% so I'm absolutely looking forward to torp/wall for H3

To be fair they've communicated it AWFULLY. Those 3 timeslots are for a single event, and I've seen some people think the 3 jank timeslots are for all of the ones we saw. But it's still very dumb regardless, it's a tiny time window that's EVEN WORSE than Eggstra Work. Really hoping the weird tiny timeslots is just for this one and we get better ones in the future
in THEORY reefslider would be good on a blaster, allowing it to move in and get a free kill on anyone caught in the splash damage with a combo problem is the only free kill with this special is the enemy team getting one on you

The display on the top of the screen shows that the dualie squelchers has four clams, so I'd say that there's a decent chance that the Custom kit has squid beakon on it

I feel like you just described the Blanket Octopus. A type of free swimming Octopus that have a membrane along two long tentacles that they detach like a lizard does it's tail to get away from predators.

Btw, Custom Dualie Squelchers also has squid beacon. You can see it in the SBlaster video. The mode is clam blitz, and if you look at the amount of clams that the squelchers player has, it’s the same amount of clams as the person who placed the beacon (on the bottom of the screen)
Yup, knew the S-Blast sadness segment was coming. It makes me question how the devs fell when no one uses these kits-- I wonder if they've ever considered changing kits, or if they're just like: "eh, we'll get em' next time." All I can imagine is that they spin a wheel or use a dartboard.

Considering two weapons for Sprinkler, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re planning to give the sub some decent buffs. This might just be copium, but if the sub that existed solely to paint is decent, it does make at least a little sense on a weapon class that struggles to paint.

Fun fact, we dont have 8 weapons with sprinklers, theres 9 😃 (rg 96 brella heavy dyna 5H blob and now 92 and letras) so we have more unique sprinkler weapons than any other sub this game is balanced amazingly

About the whole "League/Challenge" thing, I think that it's just gonna be League, but sometimes there'll be challenges available. I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that challenges are kind of an LTM (and it does say "sometimes" they throw new modes in there) so it's probably gonna function more like Salmon Run all-random rotations.

tbh has a casual player that doesn't care much about the meta and usually is fine with the updates and such, its still a bit disappointing that blasters finally could have gotten an amazing weapon just to have it get demolished instantly. also the challenges being like S2 salmon run but more rare is just the worst thing this update could have given ( to me personally )
One more thing. In the s-blast 92 clip posted on the Nintendo twitter we see someone with 4 clams place a beacon. In that clip, the hud shows cds holding 4 Clams, confirming cds beacon.
Something is interesting about the Painbrush, you can see them jump slightly and deliberately turn the brush sideways. It may not be a delay, there could be a function similar to roller, aerial swinging for better range
I believe the nova user in the fog clip wears that same shirt in the squeezer clip on humpback, where you can see the sub line's under 60%. Squeezer has splash wall which is normally 60% of the tank, so if that's the same shirt being used with nova then the sub could either be mine, wall, fizzy, or sprinkler.

I have a strange feeling the challenge gimmick won’t be added into private battles though it would make for some very fun gimmick tournaments to be ran Also that new salmon run map. Unless there’s something hidden behind what we can see for NT, there only 2 ways salmonids can get to mid, left or right. This can be viewed either as a pro for it being an easy map to lure on or a con with freelancers killing anything that spawns so much easier. I’m guess HT the water levels go up to be mostly at the point where the ramps connect to the main platform. Though I see some portential HT problems. You see the grate that leads to an outlook for ranged weapons in NT? Well, guess where at least 1 flyfish spawn is going to be for HT this map. At least it doesn’t look nearly as bad as HT flyfish at the grates of spawning grounds. Happy fishing

I'm personally hoping we can use any weapon for the event modes. Since Nintendo isn't likely going to give us custom kits, experimenting with our favorite weapons on new subs or specials would be really fun!
Nintendo seems to be scared of bigger maps like bluefin or SALTSPRAY because they don’t want special spam. That’s why all they new maps are tiny. They never intended to mess up. They probably realized this after barnacle came out and added humpback thinking it was good.
It's been the exact same duo of brushes since the first game and I love this concept. Also hope league battle comes back eventually. My guess would be Drizzle Season (my idea for the name of the September to November season).

They are doing the challenges like they did the Splatoon 1 Testfire. If we're lucky this is only to test things and in the future, when they've collected enough data, it'll be sane again.

The craziest part about the lack of stronger kits is the fact I just encountered one of the best Tri-Stringer players I’ve ever seen in turf. With me as a hydra, and then using Tri-Stringer, we went on the clean the lobby up and easily win the match. It’s surprising that the 2 new types of weapons for Splatoon 3 (with one even being perceived as the new starter to replace Jr), it took this long for a new kit to come out.
Yeah i dont know what it is with nintendo and being so scared to add any permanent new modes. Big run (which i get bc its like a splatfest for salmon) eggstra work Nd challenges are all limited time for no reason
On the new Salmon stage: all the salmon stages start at No Tide when you helicopter jump in. I’m guessing high tide would obscure the ramps going down, making the space really small - akin to the Boat stage - which will be interesting. It’s impossible to tell what low tide will bring so I’m excited to see how that shapes up.
It feels like they keep doing timed events in an attempt to bring people back into the game but they don't seem to get that if they just gave people a ton of options, they'd want to stick around anyway, Splatfests and Big Run are more than enough to bring people back. I play more Salmon Run than I do Turf/Anarchy and making these modes limited isn't going to make me want to play more, it's just going to annoy me if I'm too busy to play during those specific time slots.
About the special for Big Swig, this is just speculation but the Logo for the Big Swig Express's Vs icon is the same people who made Tenta Missles and plasters the same logo on the special. We could very well have our first post launch Missles weapon which I'm not sure how to feel about considering that could mean we could get not one but 2 missles weapons this update.
Okay guys…hear me out…bombs have that little splatter of paint outside the main area, meanwhile tenta missiles, DOES NOT!! So either someone used a last second bomb in the enemy base, or it’s something else!
But it's so far back, and there's no hint of a trail leading there. Either that player got there while the team cleaned their trail, or it was missles.
I think the new brush will have curling, while being slow. it needs a way to get around the map quickly, this is where the curling bomb comes in. making easy escape, and yn how people do trickshots with them.
Dont forget that in the "Too Many Trizookas!" Event, there's a possibility that every special weapon gets replaced by Trizooka, not just og zooka weapons only. But I can see Nintendo doing either

As a dualie squelcher main, I want my missiles (maybe not point sensor) back. As a copium addict, I pray it was a chump that was launched and not a missile, and that they gave something chump instead. Squelchers or heavy with chump wouldn't actually be too bad imo. Heavy gets a special they can sit back with, squelchers can rush in with the mini shields and extra paint.
I do absolutely think Annaki Nova has mines, as you can see the nova super jump to the big swig and a mine is detonated pretty dang close to the landing spot, if not on it. If Big Swig has Line Marker, Annaki Nova has mines. Edit: knew it.
I really hope they do a mid season update like they did with fresh season that brings more kits. If not, then there's a slim chance we get more kits than normal with the September season as some type of anniversary thing.
One challenge that would be so fun would be an all inkable walls challenge, where every uninkable surface on every map is replaced with an inkable surface.

Something is interesting about the Painbrush, you can see them jump slightly and deliberately turn the brush sideways. It may not be a delay, there could be a function similar to roller, aerial swinging for better range

I believe the nova user in the fog clip wears that same shirt in the squeezer clip on humpback, where you can see the sub line's under 60%. Squeezer has splash wall which is normally 60% of the tank, so if that's the same shirt being used with nova then the sub could either be mine, wall, fizzy, or sprinkler.

Also that new salmon run map. Unless there’s something hidden behind what we can see for NT, there only 2 ways salmonids can get to mid, left or right. This can be viewed either as a pro for it being an easy map to lure on or a con with freelancers killing anything that spawns so much easier. I’m guess HT the water levels go up to be mostly at the point where the ramps connect to the main platform. Though I see some portential HT problems. You see the grate that leads to an outlook for ranged weapons in NT? Well, guess where at least 1 flyfish spawn is going to be for HT this map. At least it doesn’t look nearly as bad as HT flyfish at the grates of spawning grounds. Happy fishing

The fact that you color-corrected the Spy to that team's color when talking about one of the new weapons having Tenta Missiles is worth a subscribe by itself.
I'm personally hoping we can use any weapon for the event modes. Since Nintendo isn't likely going to give us custom kits, experimenting with our favorite weapons on new subs or specials would be really fun!
Nintendo seems to be scared of bigger maps like bluefin or SALTSPRAY because they don’t want special spam. That’s why all they new maps are tiny. They never intended to mess up. They probably realized this after barnacle came out and added humpback thinking it was good.
On the blaster video you could see cds having beakon too by looking at the clam counter
It's been the exact same duo of brushes since the first game and I love this concept. Also hope league battle comes back eventually. My guess would be Drizzle Season (my idea for the name of the September to November season).

They are doing the challenges like they did the Splatoon 1 Testfire. If we're lucky this is only to test things and in the future, when they've collected enough data, it'll be sane again.

I like how they hinted at the Fog Challenge in the story mode with the two missions set in the Fog. And we all thought it was prep for Salmon Run.

The craziest part about the lack of stronger kits is the fact I just encountered one of the best Tri-Stringer players I’ve ever seen in turf. With me as a hydra, and then using Tri-Stringer, we went on the clean the lobby up and easily win the match.
It’s surprising that the 2 new types of weapons for Splatoon 3 (with one even being perceived as the new starter to replace Jr), it took this long for a new kit to come out.

On the new Salmon stage: all the salmon stages start at No Tide when you helicopter jump in. I’m guessing high tide would obscure the ramps going down, making the space really small - akin to the Boat stage - which will be interesting. It’s impossible to tell what low tide will bring so I’m excited to see how that shapes up.
It feels like they keep doing timed events in an attempt to bring people back into the game but they don't seem to get that if they just gave people a ton of options, they'd want to stick around anyway, Splatfests and Big Run are more than enough to bring people back. I play more Salmon Run than I do Turf/Anarchy and making these modes limited isn't going to make me want to play more, it's just going to annoy me if I'm too busy to play during those specific time slots.
I really can’t wait for this season, I’m out of school by the time it drops so I’ll be able to try out the new stuff pretty easily.
Can't believe that Tricolor and Big Run and Eggstra Work and Challenge Mode are limited time. I dunno what Nintendo has to gain from these decisions.
About the special for Big Swig, this is just speculation but the Logo for the Big Swig Express's Vs icon is the same people who made Tenta Missles and plasters the same logo on the special. We could very well have our first post launch Missles weapon which I'm not sure how to feel about considering that could mean we could get not one but 2 missles weapons this update.

I think the new brush will have curling, while being slow. it needs a way to get around the map quickly, this is where the curling bomb comes in. making easy escape, and yn how people do trickshots with them.

Hey Chara, i relooked at the trailer for god knows how many times and i think I found something about the Painbrush, i could be wrong but when the octoling jumped it turned the end that you said that has a wind up, turned, could this also mean that it has 2 swing modes? And when you don't jump it doesn't do much, like probably shorter and weaker? (If that's what Nintendo is leading to)

As a dualie squelcher main, I want my missiles (maybe not point sensor) back.
As a copium addict, I pray it was a chump that was launched and not a missile, and that they gave something chump instead. Squelchers or heavy with chump wouldn't actually be too bad imo. Heavy gets a special they can sit back with, squelchers can rush in with the mini shields and extra paint.

I do absolutely think Annaki Nova has mines, as you can see the nova super jump to the big swig and a mine is detonated pretty dang close to the landing spot, if not on it. If Big Swig has Line Marker, Annaki Nova has mines.

I am really hoping Squelchers don't get missiles because if they do then us Squelchers players reputations are ruined.
I worry they will give us missiles and then nerf missiles into the dust.
They must've been charger haters as well while making the new weapons.
I really hope they do a mid season update like they did with fresh season that brings more kits. If not, then there's a slim chance we get more kits than normal with the September season as some type of anniversary thing.
Now we just gotta hope they buff sprinkler as well. And the other weak sub weapons and reefslider too.
