One thing Jay may have thought about mentioning but didn't end up on the video: Yes getting to X rank can be important, yes getting to top 500 can make you a great player, but not everyone can and that's ok. Agreed. It's about the fun or making the competetive a sport are good things for Splatoon 2. I've been trying to reach X rank but am stuck in S+. Not because I suck, it's because my teammates for some reason don't know what to do or just completely rely on me letting me do all the work which is basically almost every match.. making every match more frustrating than being fun and getting ranked up with such teams is a very rare thing to see

Another fun story mode challenge: Pacifism! The enemies usually aren't too hard so besides required enemies like bosses or ones that carry keys, try to get through each level without splatting one. It's actually quite hard, especially with octocommanders 😭

If y’all ever need good practice with other weapons, but you don’t know where to start, play Salmon Run! It helped me grow more comfortable with different weaponry and see what kinds of stats I like! For example, I learned that I hate slower weapons, and agility + range is something that I need. It’s much easier to learn what you like in a more fast paced environment.

The funny thing is, I already beat all of the story mode levels with each weapon all because I wanted to use the Brella as soon as I could. Then after doing that, I found out that the Brellas just weren't in the game at launch.
dude I’m so sad that I didn’t get a chance to play splatoon 1 and never even got a Wii U but I’m so glad I got into it. Although I got into it about more than a year ago I’m so glad I did splatoon is my favorite Nintendo game and it’s made me so happy. When I first played Splatoon 2 I honestly loved the singleplayer enough to 1000% it fairly soon after I got the game The game inspired me to pick up a Wii U as well, to be able to experience the first game in all it's glory
There is one more, Once you've beaten the octo expansion story, completed the stations and beaten inner agent 3, try to play all the stations that has weapons you haven't used yet. But be sure to stack up those CQ points!
honestly, I needed this. I fell into a "i'll do it later" type of situation when it came to playing, and even streaming and making youtube videos. This gives me that push I needed to start back up again, edit the videos I've had planned, and keep going!
Making content is a tough thing, but being yourself is a fantastic way to get preped. Spreading news about other small people is also a nice way to get newer names out there
Bro I had so much fun with the 100% single player mode. Whenever I was mad at a level, I would still laugh at my own mistakes, and after I did everything I found out that I'm good at dualies - I had fun talking to Callie and Marie, they tell you so funny things and they have such good conversations I hope the single player in Splatoon 3 will be as funny and hard as it was
The whole „discovering a new main“ during 1000% Story Mode actually happened to me so that’s really a good thing to do. I used to hate Splatlings when I tried them in Turf, thx to the Story Mode I‘m now maining them 👌
I really hope that they come out with a new rank battle sort of king of the hill thing but with your team. I think that would be a really cool addition!
I'm personally trying to get to X on all modes. I recently switched to using the Kensa Splattershot and it has been working very well for me. I want to become more of a competitive player in Splatoon 3, so this is what I'm doing to prepare. I also want to make more Splatoon videos and content, to helpfully get better at that when Splatoon 3 comes out.
I played since the very first splatoon and I love how far the game has come. I am excited for its release. I may not get to x rank or anything. But I am proud to say I played the first game.
As a slosher class main I have learned much from my Journey starting from level 1 to all the way up level 35 and as I got the hang of brushes I became a brush master but I wanted a weapon that suited my style Aggressive and flanking so the tri-slosher became my main and still is to this day
I've owned the original Splatoon since launch day but never reached the level cap (50). Might be fun for me to try doing that. I know I'm at least level 45 because I remember getting the Octo Tee.

What I'm doing in Splatoo is trying the level up all of my clothes. On some i add an extra space for an effect, but in generell i want to get rid of the question marks on all the clothes.

0:54 ive used the splattershot, kensa .52 gal, foil flingza roller and the neo sploosh o matic in rank battles i was tired of these weapons cause of the luck of losinf multiple times so i switched to dapple dualies, Clear dapple dualies and Dapple Dualies Nouveau on every ranked mode For clam blitz and splatzones i use the clear dapple dualies For rainmaker i use the dapple dualies nouveau And tower control i use dapple dualies, Within a few days or weeks i finally managed to enjoy these dualies.
If you get up to X rank, dyou still lose the rank and go back to the previous one if you lose before past the safe line? Because sometimes I really wanna play ranked modes without the fear of losing my high rank again, and since I got X I've been too scared to play in those modes :(
seeing the suggestion of grinding to X and top 500 will be motivating to most, sadly splatoon servers don't like me and a disconnect counts as a loss. so intill my ping gets consistent im solidly stuck in B+. :(

thanks for the tips jaymoji, also there's other stuff you can do as well while you wait for splatoon 3 as well, beating games you didn't beat yet, playing with friends, playing different games on different consoles and etc, i'm hyped for it and can't wait to play it's global test fire soon and get a digital copy of the game, i know that sense i'm prepared to get it in 2022, happy splatooween ^_^
My preparation was just completing storymode finally 😅 I got the game late 2018 and started a long break from Splatoon 2 in 2019 (I was raging against World 2 w/ the seekers)
When I heard Splatoon 3 was coming out I did a huge speed run the summer before release

I'm actually trying to do the 1000% before splatoon 3. I'm only missing the splatling, the brella, and the slosher. It's very annoying. But I'm getting there.

I have mained the Luna Blaster and Bloblobber, but I too am trying to main different weapons for the ranked modes, I'm currently working to become a Kensa OctoBrush and Neo Splash-o-Matic main too.
