Good thing that some games stop you at a certain -y so that wont happen...
And hope you don't bring all that fall damage with you.
As an amateur game developer, if the game stops you at a certain Y position, it typically doesn't set you to OnGround state, so you typically don't take fall damage.
Alternatively, a float cannot really overflow. But the further you get from 0, the less precise everything gets. So you can just imagine how painful it could be.
Unless it’s stored in as an IEEE-754 floating point number, in which case, it will eventually overflow into Infinity and you’ll get stuck there until the admins save you by teleporting you out of there.
