It's a callback to the old cop shows and movies, where the good guys only ever get winged, even if the shot comes from damn near point blank range. Black Dynamite did this hilariously, with Dynamite killing a bad guy with each shot (from a never empty revolver, no less), but even with a sub-machine gun, they could only manage a shoulder shot.

GeneralZ The blood coming out from his back indicates that he wasn't shot in the stomach at all rather his thorax so the bullet could have punctured his *RIGHT* lung, this doesn't mean he should've died because of it but judging by the size of that exit wound ( 3:24 ) it looks pretty fatal to me, Cop #2 could've easily thought the same. Either way it doesn't matter, apparently later on in the video he just suffered a wound to is *LEFT* arm so don't mind my rambling.

Not Carpenter Brut, but the song has slight similarities to Paradise Warfare now that you mention it. My guess is that it's a song from a movie score store like audiojungle, which is why it's not credited.

They literally say they're THE BIGGEST crimefighting duo taking on the biggest criminal group. And the chief also says they're "the biggest cops". So I think that's the true genius of this movie: it's not about tiny guns, it's about the universe where most people are really tiny and have guns to scale, while a few are big and have advantage in combat, but there's not many of them so firearms adapted for them are not produced.
Though that doesn't make much sense, seeing as that gun perfectly well kills a full-size human: someone like chief, who - using the gun for comparison - is about the size of a small chicken, could totally waste that crime group while they were busy aiming. And a group of tiny humans with equal firepower - how scary is that?
