Pat and Neil should get an award for being the only couple and i do mean the only ones to make it in a band while being married for 40+years incredible
Seriously!! I was married to a musician. We lasted 10 days short of 10 years but we separated so many times that we were probably only REALLY together for 2 years!! DEFINITELY not easy being married to a musician!!
So how many artists can go note for note like this with no backing vocalists? Pat is on another planet here...a vocal clinic. Made this look easy when the reality is Fire and Ice is a tough song with a lot of vocal nuances.
Pat is AMAZING!! All her songs are great, but this is by far my fav. She's smokin' hot & she can ROCK! And finally...INDUCTED IN THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME. (Took long enough) Congrats! I can't think of anyone that deserves it more! Thanks for the great music, Pat.
Spectacular! I'm sure this was a very challenging song to sing live back then. People wonder why she doesn't sing it live today 30+ years later? Like Bigtime said, no backing vocal support - she did this all on her own. A powerful and amazing performance - love it!
@@A_Muzik It's hard to sing live even when she was young. This is a demanding song, vocally and she had to sing other songs as well...unlike doing it in a studio or for a tv show where she would be limited in the number of songs. Promises In The Dark was the same.
Awesome! I just uploaded this live song from her US Festival set; she never sings it live so it's great to at least have these to live performances. You can find it on her live CD's from 1981 but as far as I know this one and US Festival are the live video footage.
One of the great female vocalist. She was trained classically and majored in opera in college. Same thing as myself. When someone discovered her she had to be totally retrained to sing rock. They are two totally differently styles and techniques. A rock band when I told them that story, they said there wasn't any truth to the two techniques being totally differently...I proved it in several ways. Pat Benatar made the right choice I believe. To retrain like that is a very difficult thing to do....very. Enjoyed it, Ruatha58.
BeckyLMC You are 100% correct Becky ! I love Rock and these bands of our youth played it like they owned it. That said, when I want to hear vocal perfection I turn to opera every time. Particularly the Mezzo- Soprano's. It made me smile to hear you had formal training and that you share my love of fine music. You also share my only daughter's name. I look forward to seeing your comments and insights as we chase each other from video to video. Ken
Look forward, Ken. Lascia chio Pianca...Mia cruda sorte....Eche so spiri La liberta. Mistakes...many. One of my favorites. I will study up on my Italian.
saw her with the earlier version of the band with two guitars, then next version with keyboards.......both shows were great, the drummer never got much recognition in IMO

Marv and Rindy Ross from Quarterflash is another one
Awesome 👍💯
Alice cooper and his wife are one I believe.
Glenn and Wendi Kaiser
Easily my favorite Pat tune! Her voice blows the studio version away!
Such a bad ass
Vicious! Unreal how awesome she was. Next fn level. I was lucky to see her live year's ago. Blew me away
Still beautiful and the best female singer ever the queen love Pat I jam to her all the time rocks the whole band
Just might be her most demanding song, vocally, and it's my favorite.
My favorite female vocalist of all time.
Mine 2❤❤❤❤

They write em, they record em, they perform em. Talent like this doesnt exist today.
Love some Pat the queen of Rock she is awesome
Pat Benatar.....hotter than the surface of Sun.....audio visual perfection.....

She looks & sounds incredible, still. 👍
Induct them into the Hall of Fame Now! They earned it and Deserve. Stop the BS
Jesus! her voice gives me the chills!
This one and Quarterflash's 'Harden My Heart' made all my days back then... wow...
Une Grande Dame du ROCK !
Geez she still gives me cold shivers...the tone...the power and the image. Timeless and priceless.
Absolutely amazing!! The band is so tight and her voice and performance are awesome!!!
Damn. She sang the hell out of that.
Much Love Neil and Pat Always a fan Happy Valentines ❤
Back in the day Pat Benatar was always referred to as "The First Lady Of Rock".....she was, is, and always will be.
Actually it was Suzi Quatro, The Runaways which were Joan Jett and Lita Ford and then Pat Benatar
I think about 50 women have had that same label throughout the years.
Im not a spokesperson for all metal heads but we'll take pat benatar as first woman
best voice ever...
Incredible voice and energy. Thank you Pat Benatar.
This is the unquestioned best female rock singer ever...not in love with this live arrangement though. Pat is awesome and timeless.
maybe Chrissie Hynde or Patti Smith first
Pat's great, but no female rock singer (or ANY rock singer) can top Ann Wilson in her prime.
Lance Thompson...I agree!!!
@@hinjurock love Pat but Ann reigns queen of Rock.
Awesome performance by Pat beautiful.... stunning really ....and Neil killed it on this solo ....killer solo from Neil!

D Long It does get harder to sing as you get older. Especially after two children.

@@tonysantamaria19 Yep. She’ll still do Promises, but doing both of those in a set at 69 has to be hell. Can’t blame her for leaving this one out.
@@tonysantamaria19 I think this is constantly higher (than Promises in the Dark)
I loved Myron's drums on this tour. He's and incredible drummer and super nice dude.
my fav female vocalist ever !!!!
Pat is A Singing Legend, Pure Dynamite.
What a voice ! What legs !
What an amazing voice !
Best concert I ever went to.
Sexy awesome rocker that still down to earth. No controversies. She and Neil are talented Class.
Grombachers kit sounds amazing...the man is always on point!💯
The US Festival rendition is even stronger.
Definitely wish I was old enough to see a Pat Benatar concert in her prime. Missed it by a decade though.
Ladies & Gents, this is the REAL thing! 80's Rock at it's very best. -----------------WolfSky9
was at this ,great times!!
great performance by a great gal
Stellar
welcome to the hall. great music.
Little Patty at her best!
Wow she has an awesome voice live unquestionably the best rock singer of the 80s'...

BeckyLMC I looked up your fine tip and all I can say is "Absolutely Stunning" ! Thanks Becky.
You are welcome!!
Needs another guitar and backing vocals for a fuller live sound, but wow her voice was incredible live back then. Simply amazing.
Bigtime1998 Saw her last year, she's still super amazing. 40 years with her husband as lead guitarist.
I take that back - her voice sounds best on its own!!
I still have the VHS tape of this concert, but don't have a VHS player anymore. Last one I had broke down and I never replaced it.
Thank you for putting this up!
Mine too, great melody!!!!
love
wow she is so good she is so powerful her voice she is the heart & soul of rock & roll wow just love her..
ohhh mothers day, i will call her.
La amo desde 1980
Neil Giraldo ... One of the luckiest men on the planet .... :)
One of the most talented !
She got no boobs tho
There's always a first to see a video... Cool....
Thanks for sharing!
GODDESS!!!!!
I SLAVE BENATAR👠👠
Killed it
Impressive, I've only heard this from the "Live From Earth" album, but never saw the video. Thank you very much for posting this.
Petite, beautiful, talented....the whole package
For a little bitty gal, she could belt out the voice- and Neil could shred on guitar.
So awesome! Thanks for sharing!!! xxoo
Hall Of Fame Please! She got screwed last year!
Great, Great, I like.
saw her with the earlier version of the band with two guitars, then next version with keyboards.......both shows were great, the drummer never got much recognition in IMO
класс!
Not my favorite song of hers, but damn she makes it good.
Pat is hot
I was at this show.
Back when u didn't have teleprompters
Am I the only one who thinks that drummer looks like Dana Carvey behind the kit? Party on Garth!
more like Andy Dick.
This was in hartford Connecticut great venue
Nope, New Haven Coliseum…you did get the right state though

It is because of octave shifts. With no leads. I saw her three years ago and she doesn't perform it any more
HQ?
all that without breaking a sweat and then she goes backstage and does a load of laundry!
She *hates* this song, but Chrysalis threatened to shelve the album if she didn’t include it.
Was it me or was Neil way off either on his playing or tuning? He's usually a very tight player.
fucking hell 5 molars up.that means 5 fingers.hee hee.
PAT IS GREAT AUDIO IS BAD
I'd hate to see that drummer's coke bill
Not her best performance there hot rod. Us Festival is much better. The sand on this sucks
I hate when the sand is off...
Makes me think of smoking meth....just kidding!
One of my least favorite songs by her.
