Colin Farrell did not get the recognition he deserves for this role. Everyone's been talking about Pattinson and Kravitz and Dano, but Farrell was the best out of all of them. This isn't just a physical transformation; he transformed his entire personality here and perfectly captured the kind of lowlife scumbag mobster The Penguin should be.
He was phenomenal. This is the first screen portrayal of Penguin that actually had a dangerous edge to him where you felt like he could be a criminal boss
Colin’s commitment to play Penguin was absolutely breathtaking. He wasn’t even recognizable as himself and literally was a whole different actor that actually played The Penguin very well. Props to him and to the makeup artists for transforming him into a comic book accurate Penguin, even when we had doubts about Colin’s portrayal of the Penguin in terms of getting the look right
