Both interpretations have merit. Danny's was more over-the-top while Colin's is more grounded. I prefer Colin's take overall. That 1st episode of Penguin was awesome.
Honestly until somebody does a very comic accurate penguin, who is as much a gentleman as he is a master Criminal and crime lord, Danny is still going to be the best penguin in the live-action for me. Also to anybody who played the 2005 Fantastic Four game based on the film, is it me or did mole man also look like Danny

If you're going for the comic book look, there's no question that Devito's penguin is better. But on an acting context, Colin's is way better because considering that he's not even american, he had to do a lot more acting. Colin did a great job portraying a mob boss villain.
Are you high? Colin Farrell's Penguin is literally Penguin from the comic books. Devito's Penguin has nothing to do with Batman, it's a made up character written by Burton who had no idea what Batman even was.
@@FuzzyDlop Actually Tim Burton had more creative control making Batman Returns and made Penguin and Catwoman the way he wanted to. I think the negative about Batman Returns that Tim Burton's Catwoman was too sexual (I think Catwoman licking Batman under a mistletoe and her on Penguin's bed was too much that it wasn't suitable for kids).
The Batman was actually very good, despite it being nearly 3 hours. I really enjoyed the iterations of all the characters. The new Penguin definitely reminds me of the more realistic versions in teh comics that I loved.
Lol the only other movie I remember saying “almost 3 hours is a little bit long…” is actually _The Dark Knight_ (2008)….. y’know…. Also dark and gritty Batman, hahahha
What I like about Danny DeVito's portrayal of penguin is it's not completely evil. The Batman series always had a slight touch of comedy in it. The more recent Batman's have abandoned that element that tells you the villains weren't always evil. There's still a thread of who they were before they became completely evil and that gives you the hope that their characters still have a shred of good in them. Maybe you don't have to to kill them, maybe you can still reach them, maybe they can be reformed. Maybe there's hope for society. Batman Returns is the Pinnacle. There's a point where The Batman series becomes completely creepy.
Danny gave us the fantastic version of The Penguin. Colin has given us a Penguin that's been mainlining Sopranos episodes. I imagine they could give us an awesome version of Black Mask or some of the more grounded criminals in Gotham

I love all three of their takes. Also love the actor from the old 60’s Batman show with Adam West, Eartha Kitt, etc.
@@Pactastic042 Farrell and Devito lol. Farrell's Penguin is very realistic and is a mob boss much how Penguin is in the comics. Loved it because it was dark and excited for his show.
Nobody Asked for Huh WTF I think People did ask for it so that’s why it’s a series on Max now and Both actors are great as the Penguin it’s just a different take of the Character
Colin performance are fantastic!! 11/10
Both interpretations have merit. Danny's was more over-the-top while Colin's is more grounded. I prefer Colin's take overall. That 1st episode of Penguin was awesome.
who would have thought that the penguin show would be the best show of 2024.
By " No Body " You mean Yourself .. here after 3rd Episode.
I guess you feel stupid now about making that "nobody asked for" comment.
"Nobody asked for" .... i would have never clicked this video if it wasnt for that show... u should be thankful
Yeah talk about a serious misjudgement there and a pre-judgement in fact!
I love the new Penguin series! I was a hardcore fan of the old movies, but this new iteration is by far the best!
That HBO Show became one of the best shows to hit Tv sooo this didnt age well
Danny DeVito’s Penguin flew away on an propeller umbrella. Colin Farrell’s Penguin rolled a Maserati. I like both.
That's a very funny expression you've gotten there, Where are you streaming from?
Honestly until somebody does a very comic accurate penguin, who is as much a gentleman as he is a master Criminal and crime lord, Danny is still going to be the best penguin in the live-action for me.
Also to anybody who played the 2005 Fantastic Four game based on the film, is it me or did mole man also look like Danny
I agree but I’m not the biggest fan of devitos take, burgess Meredith is by far my personal favourite villain of all time and will be the best most accurate take of gentleman of crime, it’s a shame they made him some boring ass mob boss like we haven’t got enough of them in Gotham instead of a expert criminal who loves crime.
"that nobody asked for"
and that it's the highest rated show on television atm
This video should be called “I react to Danny De Vito reacting to Colin Farrell’s Penguin”. So much interrupting!
I wonder now that the HBO Penguin series has wrapped up 2 years later if he's eating his snarky "That nobody asked for?" words?
Well, this didn't age well...
Aged like shit! The penguin series is killing it!
Penguin Show that nobody asked for ? Comment didn’t age well huh
new penguin has a robert deniro vibe.
@@FuzzyDlop FR LIKE BRUH THIS GUY HAS IT ALL MIXED UP
Nah bro you got it all fucked up, COLINS PENGUIN IS THE ONE FROM THE COMICS!
@@FuzzyDlop not the Finger/Moldoff run :) but definitely the later comics, yes, The Iceberg Lounge and all.
It needed more street fights. The gang fight in the intro needed to be wayyy longer
Lol the only other movie I remember saying “almost 3 hours is a little bit long…” is actually _The Dark Knight_ (2008)….. y’know…. Also dark and gritty Batman, hahahha
How is being 3 hours long a bad thing?
the series is fire I didn't ask for it but I will be asking for it from now on 🤝💯🔥
What I like about Danny DeVito's portrayal of penguin is it's not completely evil.
There's a point where The Batman series becomes completely creepy.
am glad to have such a loyal and loving fan following. I am very thank full too you all and love you all!
So tell me , where are you streaming from?
Heath still has comedy in his version of The Joker but I agree with you it's not the same as in the older ones, but then again it is the joker
Danny gave us the fantastic version of The Penguin.
Colin has given us a Penguin that's been mainlining Sopranos episodes. I imagine they could give us an awesome version of Black Mask or some of the more grounded criminals in Gotham
2:26 well…this aged..very, Very poorly
Danny and Colin are both great!
"That nobody asked for" but everyone needed. This video didn't age well, for those of you who haven't watched it yet the first 2 episodes are out and it's fucking amazing. Easily one of if not top 3 best shows of the year.
Nobody ask but it bows my head
One of the best series I have ever seen in my life
