Chris, you’re such a lovely person. I have watched almost every single Vietnam videos of yours and your manner is something else. You’re always so respectful toward the elderly which is rare to see in these day and ages. Your Vietnamese is phenomenal. Keep up the good works.
Auntie Lan is so sweet. Food looks great. We had a Exchange student in town- She had some food from VN. was the best sausage I've had for a long time. (think it was 1974). Thank you for the video - always fun to see all the different food you find there.
His perfect Vietnamese makes people want to be friend with him and introduce him to their children. Bless ya heart Chris. Hope ya have a great time in Saigon.
True. It has strictly nothing to do with the fact that he’s white, hold an American passport and has money. It’s because he’s well-mannered and speaks fluent Vietnamese.
I got similar offers in the Philippines a few times. Taxi drivers trying to introduce me to their daughters or some other "beautiful girl" they know. (I don't speak any of the local language-they still made these offers in English. I'm a white American.)
@@Wulfstan1938 i feel what you mean but as soon as you know how grammar works its only a matter of learning each individual word and youre set for understanding and speaking.

Mom always treats me like her son and always looking out for me even though I’m in another country. Mom always hug me and if I’m doing wrong, she tell me off, hehehe. I love her humor and jokes and i miss her so much too.
Your Vietnamese is insanely good!! (I'm saying this as a Vietnamese) I'm too shocked xD How could you speak like a native when it's not your first language? The talent I wish I could have 😆
Wow! That’s the first time I’ve seen hoisin sauce in a bánh mì after so many years. That’s something I always remember from my childhood in VN and I can’t say they do that here in the states. For me that’s what completes bánh mì!
wanted to leave a comment and help with the algorythm, this is my first video seeing you, but you seem like an amazing guy, well mannered and respectfull like so many others in the comments will agree with me on! :D cant wait to see more from you man, bless your travels.

Hello from San Francisco, CA Chris and Max, you both awsome!!!! I was born in Sai Gòn. I just know from Nha Trang to Southern Việt Nam.. I haven't travel to the North even one. Thank you both of you, now I can see places in the North. Cô Lan nên đeo bao tay khi bán hàng để giữ vệ sinh ạ !
Bro! We’re the same age and I’m really impressed how good you are with languages. I already speak two myself, so I kinda know how it is, but both of them are European. I’d love to learn Japanese.. I just need to get a grip and push myself towards it. You’re a great motivator brother. Keep it real and continue your journey. Wish me luck 🙂🤞🏻
I missed most of the out of the way eating places when I was in Vietnam just over two weeks ago.....these are better than some of the bigger restaurants. How do you guys manage to stay in Vietnam? Are you on working visas, or what? Do the vlogs cover all or most of your living expenses? Cheers, and thanks for another view into a country that I have come to love; I will be a regular visitor....but I would be interested in finding out how to go about living and working in Vietnam.

From my observation, keep sticking to Saigon or Hanoi (or both) accent and you are ... worry-free in VN 😄👍. Generally, people in different regions prefer SG's, as far as I've heard .
@Robert Smithers That about Italians talking with hands it's a false stereotype, I've seen people from all around the world talking with hands, go on youtube, watch news, watch movies or dramas, you'll always see people talking with hands!
I know right my wifes Grandfather and father where Itailian her father actually sat put his hands down and never raised them up whole time he talked lol never not once in the 30+ years I knew him I on the other hand cant even open my mouth without moving my hands lol
Setting up with someone is so typical from Vietnam.I've been there twice and I have very good friends there but I always went with my girlfriend. If things were different,I'd be probably living in Hanoi with a VN girl and couple of kids😂😂😂
Hey guys, you should pop over to Thailand and see us here! I am in the North East, speak Thai and I see your Vietnamese is near perfect! How long did it take you to learn? It has taken me 18 years to speak Thai, but I get by! Are you doing a follow-up with the 18-year-old girl? Would be interesting to see! Well done with your interesting videos!
This guy has a Northern Vietnamese Accent, must of study and live up there for some times. Now he in Saigon I believe. Kinda cute trying to listen to his Vietnamese with a hint of western accent
I personally don't think it's that hard tho. The only thing tripping you guys is the phonetics. Beside we have no gramma issue like in english. No past, present, future to worry about. Just learn the meaning of the words and combine them together
She used to make 3-400k, a day. 400k is $17.05. She cant make that much now. Crazy that people can live for so cheap. But if I went there, I would have to use what I saved up in the states because I would never be able to get a job that would let me afford much, being an ignorant foreigner who cant speak the language. I think that is one of the reasons I love these videos so much. Makes me think about giving it a shot one of these days. She was a beautiful lady too! So happy to see you!
4:47 she misunderstood the question. Asked the hours she worked, she answered the numbers of bánh mì sold daily. Used to be 300-400, now about 200. Not 200K VND -- that means only 6-8 per day.
I have been dating a 20-year Vietnamese girl for 14 months. The best relationship since my high school girlfriend. I always preferred Asian girls anyway. Plus, I have a history with Vietnam, as 2 of my uncles are Vietnam veterans
That happened to me here in my USA town. A vietnamese woman/American man with 18 year old daughter - beautiful but very child-like, obvioiusly spoiled - tried to marry her off to me just because I was friendly with her and talked to her on a regular basis (like I am to all other patrons of the bookstore I attended regularly who reciprocate socially). Here's the thing though, I'm in my Sixties!

the love and respect you share towards the vietnamese people is so heart warming, bless your kind soul
Chris, I just wanted to say that you are very well manner. I am Vietnamese and I can tell your mannerism spill over to my culture.
