    Clean as you go , spot on mate , not many who do that now and the mess that is around them is shocking and it makes the job so much harder at the end of the day when you are tired and want away 👍

    Seeing you take out that old pvc door reminded me of my days (most of my working life) as an installer/surveyor of replacement upvc windows and doors. The amount of people demand that you remove it intact as they want to keep it. One guy actually had already sold his windows to the guy opposite as he had assumed they fall out intact. Luckily for him we were removing Ali/Mahog frames. So all but one timber frame were saved. Great content 👍

      Thanks for your comment Peter, I appreciate it! Yea ive had afew customers who want the doors out intact but its always those ones that need abit of brute force to get out!

    Thanks - you just helped me fit my new door 👍
    A specific video about installing sealed units, packers and the trim/bead/glassholdy bits (can't remember what they're called) might go down well. The instructions I had weren't very clear and getting the trim in and out was a bit of a faff until I sussed it out. Fitting the units first time with the inside facing out gave me more practise 🤣
    Thanks again,
    Russ

    The glazing and especially beads have always been a dark art to me, could you do a video explaining how to install? And if you rocked up at a job how you would know how they’re installed and how to remove without damaging?
    Great vid!

      Hi mate, yes ill be filming a video on how to remove the beads in the next couple of weeks. Doing the job for over 20 years you kinda know how theyre fitted just by looking at them nowadays and it becomes sort of second nature, ill explain in the video coming soon for you. Thanks for the comment!

    Cracking video first off, ive been in the industry for over 20yrs. Love who i work for but over the last few years ive been thinking more and more about going on my own. Only ever worked for the company im still currently at since i left school worked my way up BUT i really want to have a go on my own. A few things put me off like getting paid off customers and getting the work in, any advice please cheers

      Hi Rob,
      Thanks for the comment, I’m planning on doing a video in the coming weeks that will hopefully cover somethings about going on your own and the things I’d do differently. If you’ve been at your current job 20 years already and have a good relationship with the boss I’m sure if it didn’t work out for you they’d have you back? If you want any questions answering in the video let me know and I’ll do my best or DM over on instagram id be happy to help. Cheers, Daz

    I know you sealed your dpc down but the damp can still get through the original dpc and as your door is pvc you could of cut the old one off then sealed your cill to the brick then no damp or insects will get through just saying

    Just found your videos thanks! Just about to try and fight a uPVC door in my garage. I know you take 10mm from the lowest figure what do you do about the door sill/threshold? If you have a video explaining or can let me know that would be great thank you

    • @dazthedoubleglazier
      @dazthedoubleglazier  7 месяцев назад

      Hi, you would still take 10mm to 15mm in height, your cill will be 30mm plus the threshold. I always measure the internal aswell and if theres a massive difference ill allow for this with an addon. not sure if that helps, hope it does.
