Welcome back, Sthetix. Another great video as always.
I'm still waiting for your picofly installation video.🥺🙏
great sir
Good job. Máster.
Did it a few days ago :) A little trouble to get the scraped via to adhere. Should be placed to the side for easy visual verification.
These cables are the best ones to install
Nice video, close for 100k subs
So, is it connected directly to the board through the flex?
Or the tip of the flex is flying?
Hi ! Thanks for your video but I have a question, at 1:10 you solder the capacitor to the 3.3V pad but do you bridge together the 2 capacitors and then solder to the 3.3V or do you just solder 1, I hope my question make sense, sorry I might not have the right vocabulary.
👌
Would love to see a whole video of installing this whole kit.
i already did it with wires.
@@sthetixofficial I know, and I pretty much love all your videos, but it's confusing to the point where it's difficult for me, someone who's not used to doing these things, to decide which wires this flex cable replaces and what wires still need to be soldered and where, which is why I am hoping that you or perhaps someone else will make a full install video of this new kit that includes this flex cable.
point C and B still using wires. you can replace the rest with the kit
@sthetixofficial by point C you mean the one that slides under the chip right?
Hi, I already suscribed, awesome content.
Just one question, I like that v6 is able to boot OFW without a reset button but... What's the difference with picofly, I don't know why many people prefer picofly (RP2040 based) I saw that there is a version RP2040 that looks like hwfly, is it has another features? Thanks
they both have the same function and both are cheap too. You are free to choose either the pico or the v6.
2:00 that joint is gonna break dude, tsk tsk
@sthetix I have the d1 mini and that tip that is seen in the video is not the same, the 2 that look similar to me, the tip, although thin, is cylindrical but yours is very conical, do you use a special or different tip?
i got it from the ma-ant d1 pack.
Thanks for the video. QQ: How to plug it to the kit? Won't the connector end up being upside down?
you need to have the kit and try it
On the V6 video you avoided the kit due to interference concerns. Do you still prefer wires now or do you approve of this kit?
I still prefer wires.
If you do a complete video for all model switch crack and chip to use from scratch like your psvita video will be super useful
ive done it. you can check my odysee.com/@sthetixofficial:9
Thanks a lot for the video. I installed InstinctNX with this flex cable on my Nintendo Oled. It worked, however sometimes the chip flashes red or orange and quickly bot to the original system. Did I leave any poorly welded points? My nand is hynix. I heard it's problematic.
you can try using wires and test it.
@@sthetixofficial Good idea. Thanks.
Mine does this from time to time. and mine is samsung . i bought the mobo presoldered
Found the problem. The weld at point A was loose, with poor contact.
Hey, not sure if its fine but I am getting a diode reading of 1.1v on the 3.3V, could this potentially kill my board if I try to turn on the switch?
try to reverse the reading. red probe on gnd and black probe on the 3.3V, it should read about 0.450V
If I wanna mod my OLED Zelda TOTK Switch with a chip today, do I need to consider some things ? I heard the built of the EMMC chip is different compared to prior OLED Switches and causes issues to solder the DAT0 adapter. Which OLED chip is the best currently ?
You need to solder the modchip. And all OLED are the same.
@@sthetixofficial I know that I need to solder it. I meant the Zelda OLED has apparently a NAND chip of a different brand which causes problems with sodering certain DAT0 adapters. What do I need to consider before starting the solder work ? Which modchip/modkit works the best for that Zelda OLED Switch ?
Is this cable better than the others?
the developer has improved and revised the kit. It is OK to use this kit. But you can still use wires
you are hands down the best in the world whats the difference to the new cable is the shielding better ?
it works on all emmc brands and have no interference
1:08 that 3.3V seems to be connected to the two resistors. Is that intended, or just not a problem?
that is a capacitor, it is fine if you bridge it.
Before the pcb you used to solder a wire to the 3.3v. And most people soldered it across both ( for stability) because they are the same.
Quite often I see people skipping using this flex because of reliably, is this one good?
I am back using the wires now.
@@sthetixofficial did you have issues or just a preference?
i found one isolated case when I used the flex, the console speaker beeping hard and the console frozen. The console worked fine after replacing the kit with individual wires
please make a new installion video for new Picofly chip. I think they are the future, because the cost is very low now.
i dont use pico. Not reliable, too many variants, and many people have killed their emmc chip after using it. There will be a new and advanced instinct-nx in the near future.
@@sthetixofficial thanks for the info
@@sthetixofficial This new and advanced instinct-nx chip. Will it be the best, most reliable and the most stable chip for the OLED Switch compared to all avaiable chips ?
so did you just solder the D point to the mod kit directly instead of using the FPCB kit to handle it?
also for the 3.3v does it matter if they're bridged? how much should each point reading give?
Also what risks come from this instead of using wires?
we need to solder the D point and heat the point so it attach to the motherboard. bridged 3.3v is fine. using wires are the best.
stheix what cable do use?
yes
Grat vid but "Where does the b cable goes to?"" :)
to the rst point
@@sthetixofficial thank you very much. Would love to see a complete installation video with v6 kit.
I discarded this kit and prefer using individual wires instead to avoid issues in the future. FYi, this kit could cause interference issue
Why do you solder the wire to the C point only?
because the C point is not covered by the fpcb kit
Hello good sir, any diagram to install on v2 switch using this kit?
this kit wont work on a v2 bro
What's the difference between the "underscore New" and the "New" FPCB?
this one has no signal interference
Do you advise against using the "New" (no underscore) flex cable?
I got the one without the underscore, but it looks the same as the one in the picture.
And which soldering iron tip are you using to install this kit? Thanks!
it looks the same, but the new with underscore works with hynix. they moved the 3.3 v wire a bit to the middle
Thanks! :)
Hi !
I just received an instinct nx v6 for my lite, and the seller said there is no firmware already flashed on it.
I'm searching for a long time and i don't find how to do it, can you help me plz ?
Instinct-NX comes preflashed, you dont neef to flash it. The seller is wrong
Why didn't you do the new Pico chip till now ?
I prefer this chip to Pico. It has similar "tech" than the old chip . Pico is new and untested. That's why i don't use it.
@@sthetixofficial It is upon us to test it.... I did it for both Mariko and Oled... Works great...but for ease of use i just recommend it to Oled since u need to do the hard work even with regular chips...
@@3absisoRA Ive read through gbatemp few people having busted emmc with the pico on hwfly board. have u encounter any of these on ur oled installs? i just bought a dozen prior reading bout the dead emmc issues after pico board installation, mine havent arrived yet though😅. done bout 5 instinctnx without issues prior to this with sthetix guide, thought wanna to try the pico board
Do they still need to install the CPU Flex? or no need?
you can install it
@@sthetixofficial can you make a full video with this? Maybe you can show to us how to insert that flex to the hwfly chip board
maybe some day. IF you have install the V6, then you just insert the flex header to the socket like this cdn.wallapop.com/images/10420/f0/rv/__/c10420p908292755/i3326717133.jpg?pictureSize=W640
@@sthetixofficial nice thank you for this
Hi, where are C and B connected to pls ? @@sthetixofficial
There's no need to solder B point on this kit?
you need it.
Thank you!
Is this for switch light?
for the oled
Hm is this?
Is there a github for this chip's firmware?
no
Need your help, what CFW do i need without a banned?
any cfw is fine but pirated games will get your console banned
I saw your other video with the cables instead of these ribbons. Im completely new to switch modding so which one would you recommend? I got the instinct v6 chip and it comes with these ribbons
you can use wires or use this kit
@@sthetixofficial Which one would be better in your experience? Is there any forum in which people talk about modchips that you can recommend?
currently I use the kit and no issue with it. you can try joining the GBAtemp forum to find the information.
And do we install this?
it depends, you are free to use it
adaptor link plz
it comes with the complete mod kit. You cannot buy this kit separately.
Do you recommend this method or the wire only method?
any will do for now
You're a G, if you want to be top G. Do Picofly.
